  1. Well it seems it is going to be one of those days.Already i have put two threads out and it is only 8am. This one has caused by blood to boil. But everyone has a view, what is yours. Here is my answer to the news that - Fracking gets go-ahead in UK for first time since 2011 as North Yorkshire council approves plans. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/05/23/north-yorkshire-council-approves-fracking-plans/ Well everyone will know what i feel about Fracking just in case it is Lancashire next by fair means or foul. Our council and people have said No quite clearly.I am now catching up with local views just in case. My video of how i feel. When i went on a protest to learn more. These people are protectors not protesters. Could be on your doorstep next.
  2. It's obvious that the government is making it so difficult with benefits they are hoping that everyone will just give up claiming but I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or head butt the wall with this situation and just wondering if anyone has had similar problems because apparently the people in front and behind me in the cashiers queue had the same issue!! Had a medical appointment in London yesterday for my ongoing vertigo issue and am on UC at the moment (although haven't received anything as yet due to my last pay packet back in July!). However I can't remember where but someone told me as I am on UC I could claim back my travel expenses. The UC helpline (term used loosely) advised me that I could claim through the JCP but on contacting my Work Coach (again term used loosely) she advised me I couldn't claim through them but I could claim direct with the NHS. I called the NHS and that was correct but I had to take my proof of purchase, appointment letter and UC Reward Letter to the cashier at the hospital. Obviously I know unlike JSA where you get a letter stating you are receiving JSA you don't get the same thing with UC because the Council were complaining about that when I claimed Council Tax Benefit and the girl at the Council said it was all a bit of a shambles. So I called the UC helpline again and after half an hour trying to explain to an automated message that all I wanted was advice from and advisor I finally got through. The advisor told me that the statement on the dashboard was all I needed although all 4 pages of it seemed excessive and somewhat personal considering it states that I was awarded a massive UC total of £0 due to my wage the previous month of £xyz!! Queued for 25 minutes at the cashier’s desk at the hospital with all the documents and finally when I got to the window she wouldn't approve it stating that she needed a JSA Award Letter. I politely explained that in my part of the country and more than likely most of it by now including London there is no such thing as JSA and award letters anymore, (I may be wrong) and that the UC Office had said this statement would suffice. She wasn't for turning though and kept pointing to a clearly out of date note on the wall stating a JSA Award letter was required. I tried my best to keep calm and explained again that all is done online now and this is it, all I can offer. Eventually she took my number and said her supervisor would ring on Monday but keep my train tickets, which is fortunate I got a receipt because the machine eats the tickets once used!! As I left the guy behind said "Well we are buggered as well then" as he held up his UC Statement print out. When I got home I called the UC Helpline but was told they didn't deal with travel and I had to speak to my work coach and could only offer me an appointment next Wednesday!! I asked for a phone appointment because it seems a bit pointless taking up a walk in just for one question! I said that the previous UC advisor had informed me that a UC Statement would be ok but was curtly told that the UC advisor couldn't advise on that so didn't know why they had! I then rang the number for my Job Centre and went through merely to a switchboard who told me that my JCP was closed on Fridays. So we search for work for 35 hours a week and they work 4 days?!?! She however told me that the JCP can't help on that so I should contact UC Helpline!! I replied that the UC Helpline say they don't deal with that the JCP does and she said they didn't know why they advised me of that as they were wrong. After telling her I suspect she may be getting a few more calls from others with the same query I gave up at that point!!! So has anyone had any luck with claiming expenses of any kind with merely a UC Statement?! It seems impossible. The hospital say they need a letter that doesn't exist anymore, UC say it's down to the JCP to advise and the JCP say it's down to UC credit to advise. A system clearly created by a buffoon with no brain, sense or intelligence!!
  3. Hello Try to be brief. had a ltd company back in 2005 with an overdraft linked with a personal guarantee. The company is now dissolved and Lloyds obtained a CCJ against me for the bank overdraft of £7900. I did not know about this until I searched Land Registry and saw a charging order on the property. The charging order was dated 2009 I contacted Lloyds who inform me that they no longer have the debt as they sold it and passed liability first to Hillsden and then to Cabot and lloyds. I have requested from lloyds all the copies of the original loan details, Ts&Cs etc. They have refused to pass on these documents as i am "Not Entltled" to these documents as the company does not exist. I have had no communication or updates from Cabot. Lloyds say that I must ask Cabot to release the charging order although in the name of Lloyds. Is all this correct? Any advice appreciated
  4. Hi Guys Despite my constant attempts to get APS Overdraft to 1. Supply me with evidence of the debt and 2. Mark it as default or in dispute They are constantly updating the report with a 6 marker but no default. The account shows no payment since March 2016 and hit 6 in Sept 2016. The message on the credit reports states; "agreed repayments are more than 3 months behind but you have agreed new repayments with the lender" which is total BS as I have never acknowledged the debt as it is not mine. My last letter to Equifax stated; Dear sirs This account is a pre-paid credit card account that has been in dispute since discovery in April 2016. To date there has never been any debt acknowledgement made and based on this fact, taking into consideration the I.C.O. Technical Guidance on Issuance of Default Markers & Notices, the account should not be generating recurring [6] markers but should in fact be defaulted (within 6 months of the first default (missed payment) occurring on the account) which means the record should be changed to a Default status with a default date around October/November 2016. Please rectify this error as the creditor is ignorant to my repeated requests. Failure to correct the incorrect data will result in a formal complaint being raised with the Information Commissioner who, as I'm sure you appreciate, take a dim view of deliberate breaches of data processing. Kind Regards xxxx Credit Report Ref No : 5xxxxxxxxx Name : xxxxxxxxxxxx Company Name : APS - CASHPLUS Account Number : 0000 Current Balance £ : 433 House Name or Number : xxx Post Code : xxxx xxx Start Date : 03032016 End Date : 31072018 Equifax replied (after 4 weeks) Dear xxxxxxx, Thanks for getting in touch on 20/05/2018 about the information on your Equifax Credit Report. APS Overdraft has investigated your query and have told Equifax that the account information is correct and should remain unchanged. This information is supplied by the company and we can't change it without their permission. You should get in touch with the company directly if you need more information. The note that we added, stating that your information was in dispute will be removed within 24 hours. ============== Any ideas what to do next guys as it looks as though it will be ever present on my CS :-x Thanks guys
  5. Attempting to put order into chaos, one such chaos is the forest of old paperwork I have on long since gone debts. I'm not talking about anything current (as in live accounts) but more on old credit card alleged debts from the last decade, they are all either settled/done with/stayed or stat barred.... Is there a need to keep all the paperwork to the now stat barred debts? Settled Debts/ done with (old accounts that i've simply closed down) Some of them are stat barred by 6+ years, others 4 years stat barred. I'm keeping the paperwork on all live accounts/stayed accounts as these may be needed at some point, but the rest I'm thinking they should be shredded/burned?
  6. After a long absence from benefits I'll be starting a new claim for Universal Credit in the next few days. Just a brief history: I was on the old Work Programme with Ingeus for the full 2 years - towards the end I was placed on the ESA assessment phase having been on JSA only and didn't have to attend the office anymore... Shortly after I ended the claim to pursue a new opportunity and that's where I've been for over a year and a bit. Now having to go back to relying on benefits is a difficult thought and I have no idea what's changed. I have no clue if my local office is still open, I know most claims are now dealt with by phone only... I think that's right? I've heard DWP offices are closing down all over the country so what does this mean for a claimant and how do they check your doing all you can to find work? Can anyone fill me in on what's changed and what'll happen when I sign up... very nervous about it as I never actually thought I'd go back into the system... I was on antidepressants before and looking for job didn't help much with my mental health. Having not worried about work strictly speaking for over a year I am quite anxious regarding all these changes and what it could mean for my family.
  7. I wonder if someone can help me. My car has been in the garage since April 2016. I have been given all different dates when it will be ready. I have whatsapp messages to say it would be ready in February this year. Let me explain because I really need to understand what my legal right is as I though garages had to carry out repair within a reasonable period of time. In April last year my BMW 325i broke down. I was told it was the head block. At first I tried with no success to find a head block and then decided to opt for a part worn engine. I ordered the engine but unfortunately they sent the wrong one which caused delays. However a head block became available in August 2017. Since this time I was told that they had to await pistons. I threatened to take the car back in February but was told that I would need to pay for the work that had already been carried out and they have ridiculous excuses. I have left my car with them but up to today my car is still not ready, they have caused extensive dents in the car which they said they would repair. However it has been well over a year and I am still without my car. Can anyone tell me what my legal position is. I have already paid them £500 up front. Mark
  8. Post for a friend Letter from Mortimer Clarke concerning a CCJ issued in July 2017. Please fill out this I&E form within 14 days otherwise instructed to life the stay and request payment of £50 per month. No CCJ on credit report. Requested copy of CCJ. Defaulted back in March 2011. 1st letter knowing about CCJ. My question is does sending stat dec as never received the CCJ paperwork and couldent defend claim, where does it reset it to? Does it take all the way back to 2011 so debt would be SBd now or to the original court date in 2013 and debt not Sbd?
  9. Hi all, Have I made a mistake? I had an unenforceable credit card debt from 2010 has been passed through the following companies: Alliance & Leicester/ MBNA/AIC/Aegis/Wescot - Bank of America /Arrow Global/ Wescot/ Scotcall/ Vanquis Bank. In 2011 Letter from Arrow Global said Scotcall is no longer managing your account. It will now be managed by Vanquis Bank on behalf of Arrow, who will be in touch to let you know contact details and offer you the "Avant Programme". Never heard any more and 6 years later was offered a small credit card which I thought would help me rebuild some credit. The account is in order and I have managed pay it off each month. But... The card is from Vanquis Bank! and I have started getting letters and calls about the other account from AIC again. It feels a bit uncomfortable. Should I worry? Cheers,
  10. Hi I have late loan monthly payments recorded on my credit report from Nov 2014 up to now . I haven't paid but want to clear the loan now that I can afford to. Myjar charges a late monthly payment fee if you are 3 days overdue on your monthly payment. I have had no record of them asking for late payment charges from me. Can I ask them to accept the loan repayment in full without any charges and is it likely that they will register a default anyway? Look forward to your response
  11. Hi , nasty taste left in mouth by Samsung. Whilst cooking, i used my S8 as a timer, as per normal. multiple timers set, and running. turned round to check time, and the screen was flashing like mad. A crack was developing before my eyes. A phone call to Samsung sent me to their Romford "customer care" centre where i was told i had dropped it The phone is not yet 2 months old. I was told that screen damage invalidated the warrantee, and also refused a second opinion, as 3 "engineers" had already looked at it. cost of repair is approx £350, after 1.5 months use am i right in thinking that it had a fault inherrent since manufacture, and that should be the route i take? The phone was bought via carphone warehouse, on an EE contract. EE contract appears to state the the phone is owned for the first 6 months by the company i purchased it from, so should it be carphone warehouse i approach with this issue? leaves a really nasty taste in my mouth, i suspect it is CPW that i need to go for, but they have been phenomenal to me over the past 12 years- would be much better if i was able to go directly to Samsung At time of purchase with CPW i also bought a "gear4" protective casing for the phone, and it has lived in it ever since. It was not a cheap case either Please help Kind regards iain
  12. Do you need to provide proof to ask a question on a public forum? I have had a thread removed for asking the obvious. Giving that the my thread has been removed the donation/s that i have made for this forum to help people like me, any advice on getting the donation back into my bank account because i do not want to fund nor be associated with a supposed public service that cherry picks the questions and those who the forum adjudge to be correct because of any status that they may have on here as indicated by green dots. Regards Callum
  13. Hi all, This is my first post on the consumer forum. The error that Vodafone is continuously failing to correct causes me great distress and badly affects my health. I have tried to sort this issue personally through Vodafone Customer Service making endless phone calls but it got nowhere. I was going to take the mortgage in March but Vodafone INCORRECTLY has placed a Default Account on my Credit Rating which prevents me from getting a mortgage. I have written formal complaint to Vodafone Customer Service that was posted to them on 14/10/2015 but the letter was never acknowledged and I have never received a response from Vodafone. To cut the long story short: I had Vodafone account opened in September 2013. I have systematically paid monthly payments of £39.50 up until December 2014 (shown on my bank statements). I then accidentally stopped the Direct Debit to Vodafone and I had accumulated some unpaid months to them. I have paid all those unpaid months on 29.05.2015 plus all the future monthly payments up until September 2015 (I had minimum 2 years contract) in one payment of £380.40. The reason I paid all the future payments on that day is because I asked the Vodafone Customer Service to close my account during the same phone call on the 29.05.2015. 1. Vodafone has failed to acknowledge internally in their automated system my payment to them on 29.05.2015 of £380.40 2. Due to Vodafone failing to acknowledge my payment they employed the Debt Collection Agency to retrieve the payment from me and more importantly they incorrectly put a default account on my Credit File in August 2015. I'm in the process of applying for the mortgage and imagine what impact this incorrect Vodafone default account has on my chances of being approved. 3. After the Debt Agency started to chase me for the payment I have brought a proof of the missing payment to the Vodafone store first in August 2015 and then I was asked to do that again in September 2015 and the store manager made a note on my Vodafone account about witnessing the payment. I then had spoken straight away to Vodafone customer service on the phone and they said that they will be processing a Missing Payment Form and once done the information of payment clearance will be passed on to the Debt Agency and my Credit File will be cleared. I note that this was done in September 2015. 4. After giving 7 working days (in September 2015) for the Missing Payment Form being processed I have spoken to Debt Collection agency and they said that they still haven't received any instructions from Vodafone to close the issue. I have spoken to Vodafone Customer Service again and they again confirmed that they have submitted Missing Payment Form. I have spoken to the Debt Collection agency a week later and they said the issue has been put on hold for further clarification. I think they realised that I don't owe the money to Vodafone because I've sent to them the copy of my bank statement but they were not receiving instructions from Vodafone to close the issue of this debt. 5. I now checked my Credit File for the first time on 23.02.2016 as I'm just about to apply for the mortgage and it still shows Default Vodafone Account! Bearing in mind that Vodafone confirmed processing Missing Payment Form back in September 2015 they had 4 months to clear my Credit File from the default account, however, this still hasn't been done. 6. I have called to Vodafone again yesterday (23.02.2016) about the issue. Vodafone Customer Service yet again acknowledged over the phone the note from Vodafone store manager on my file made in September 2015 about witnessing the evidence of payment. They said that they had submitted the Missing Payment Form AGAIN and he said it will take 3 (three) months! to clear my Credit File from default. But I was reassured previously by Vodafone Customer Service that the Missing Payment Form on that payment was processed back in September 2015 and they had 4 months since then to clear the Credit File but this hasn't been done! (I mentioned this to Customer Service). How can I allow another 3 months of empty promises to find out in May 2016 that nothing has been done. I have read on the Internet an Experian expert saying that changes to the Credit File can be done overnight. The house prices are rising every month and I have been waiting since September 2015 for Vodafone to clear my Credit File from the default account that they had put in their error. I have no idea what to do anymore and who to speak to about resolving the issue and clearing my Credit File from the wrong default. Vodafone is promising to clear the error since September 2015. Since September 2015 they endlessly saying to me that the Missing Payment Form has been submitted and that I should wait for the Credit File to be cleared of the default. I'm worried that Vodafone will incorrectly make changes to the Credit File simply by showing that I have paid the default money. But I need the fact of default removed from my Credit File because all of the due payments were made by me in May 2015. The default was put incorrectly in August 2015 when I in fact didn't owe any money to Vodafone by then. I'm also worried that Vodafone will reactivate my account once they acknowledge the missing payment when in fact I have asked to close my account in May 2015 and paid all the due payments then. I've asked the Vodafone Customer Service many times to send me the letter confirming that my account has been closed in May 2015 but they have never sent it to me. Any advice on how to resolve the issue with removing the Default Account History from my Credit File and getting the Vodafone to confirm that my account has been closed in May 2015 would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Natalya
  14. I haven't got an appointment for a medical yet. But I am scared that I won't be rearded whatever you get when you pass. I think it's ATOS. Anyway, in December my a doctor diagnosed me with anxiety but I also have another problem which is not mentioned on my sicknotes,. It's trapped wind which is embarrising and I am seeing the doctor on Monday for both my anxiety and the trapped wind. My brother has been on ESA for about 9 months because of his Herchsprung's deasease. It's bowl related and he has stomach pains which will make him violently sick, he was born with this. ATOS has now taken him off ESA and I am scared that they';; do this to me as I am nervous around new people and shy. Plus with my trapped wind or whatever it is, is painful and lasts hours. I have had medication but nothing worked. Is it possible to pass with a mental problem then with a physical? I'm just wondering.
  15. Hi My husband and I have both had contracts with vodafone for many years. When it came time for me to upgrade 2 years ago, vodafone offered a discounted deal if I took my phone as a second phone on my husbands account. This was a decent deal so my contract ended and his had both our phones. Two pay monthly contracts. Fast forward 2 years and my husbands contract for his phone ended and he upgraded to a new contract with vodafone. April this year the second phone contract ended (my phone). I waited a few months to decide what I was going to do as I will still happy with the handset. I then decided to take a new phone contract out in August in my own name with vodafone. I called them to advise I wanted to keep my old number. I explained the situation that my old phone was a 2nd phone on my husbands account. No problem they said. Here is a PAC code... Ever since then it has been a nightmare. Apparently what should have happened was that my old number should have been converted to pay as you go to allow me to keep the number and port to my new phone. Instead for over 3 weeks nothing happened Then, after countless phonecalls and different pieces of advice we were told that it would be sorted... Again, nothing. Then my husband discovers he cannot make any calls. Lo and behold they had switched his number to pay as you go instead of mine. Commencement of another endless number of calls. My husband spent HOURS at his work phoning vodafone because they would not talk to me as the 2nd phone (my number) was on his account. Having said that, some of them spoke to me so not a hard and fast rule clearly. I then spent HOURS and HOURS and HOURS and DAYS and MORE DAYS on the phone to many many different departments and indeed countries. Several times I was assured it wolud be sorted. Indeed, the last person even got their manager to apparently sprint down to the floor below to speak with a superuser who was going to wave his magic wand. And still nothing. I was assured phone calls back. Nothing. Still nothing. S o, my husband, who needs his phone for work, is still on a Pay As You Go. My old number is still active so we are STILL paying this contract even though it should have ended in August. My new phone I am paying for but has a new number. It is also not receiving calls. I only receive the odd call and the remainder of the time when people try to call me it goes straight to answer phone. I can be holding the handset when someone calls and it doesnt even ring. Someone told me my old number had now been lost then someone else told me that wasnt right. I was told my husband was no longer PAYG and was back on contract the I was told this wasnt right. Seriously, are they actually just taking the absolute...... ? I cannot bring myself to waste another entire DAY to explain the situation again only for nothing to happen again. I need vodafone to cancel my old contract and reimburse my money (or to my husband as was on his account) I need them to reactivate his contract and cancel his Pay as You Go as this phone should never have been touched. I need them to transfer my old number to my new phone. I need them to find out and fix my phone so it receives all calls. The internet is also much slower than my old iphone 5 (this is an iphone 6) I need all monies reimbursed that are owed to us. This has been ongoing since August 21st with no resolution and not a single call back from anyone who said they would. PLEASE HELP!!!!

  18. Dear All, Following with reference to Regulations 2003,2005 and 2006 I believe I have a case to pursue to obtain my ILR which I was denied in June 2010 due to poor Representations and also I had no clue of any immigration laws and Regulations at that time only relied of my rep. The real issue is we were given Leave to Remain in 12 March 2015 base on Article 8 through my 14 years old daughter ( 7 years Rule Concession) who came to join me with her mother in September 2003 after a long legal battle Represented by a reputable firm. We won the case (Leave to Remain) at the First Tier Tribunal on 29 June 2014 but Home Office decided to appeal so the case was in Upper Tribunal this year after two sittings which did not yield any results and was adjourned on 27 Feb 2015 for further notice after I raised the issue that I had an outstanding application with the Home Office that was not dealt with. Whiles we are waiting the Home Office performed a U-turn and issued us with the Leave to Remain to be renewed 4 times on 2 and half years bases after which we can apply for ILR. Please Note: About the outstanding application which I think HO did not deal with it. if I am wrong please advice: 1. My last leave to Remain as a Student was expiring in 30 June 2010. so I applied for ILR alone on 10 June 2010 using SET(O) paid the required fees of £840 and acknowledge letter received from HO. 2. On 29 June 2010 I applied for Leave to Remain for my self and 3 dependants (wife and 2 daughters now 14 and 5 years respectively). Also, paid required separate fees of £751 and acknowledge letter received from HO. 3. on 26 July HO refused my ILR based on gap in residency in 2005, 2006 and 2009 due to payment issues. 4. Only 2009 that had 2 problems: one is payment and two is 4 days overstayed according to HO. 5. In 2009 my Student visa expired on 23 January 2009 so I submitted my application with College enrolment letter dated 22/01/2009 and the Cheque for payment also dated 22/01/2009 and posted the application to HO on that same day 22/01/2009 but HO claimed to receive my application on 27/01/2009. unfortunately, I could not and cannot find the proof of postage, but as for the payment HO claimed I paid with Credit/debit Card which was not true. I paid with cheque and I made photocopy of that application and the Cheque and I still have them. 6. On 16 August 2010 a lady called from HO to enquire about the second application (29 June 2010) and I said to her is for Leave to Remain/Discretionary Leave to Remain. She then ask me if I would appeal against the ILR refusal? I said to her I have given the refusal letter to my Solicitor. So she ask me to find out and that she would call again next day. I contacted my solicitor who said the appeal is done because the deadline was 10/08/2010. But the HO lady did not call again. At the moment, although HO had issued us with Leave to Remain but case is still in Upper Tribunal and the Tribunal want to know if there is any case that I want to pursue because the Tribunal is aware of HO U-turn. 1. My question is can I raise my ILR issue again? 2. Do I still have outstanding application? 3. Do I have a case of success in my ILR claim? 4. How do I go about this if I choose to pursue it? Please your advice needed and thanks for reading this lengthy story. God Bless you all.
  19. I signed up to Easy Gym on 20th of March this year. Then on the 17th of April, they sent an email out to everyone to say the showers are going to be refurbished starting the next day without giving a completion date. I haven't been to the gym since as we don't have showers in the office, and I can only go in the mornings to the gym. I am client facing so defiantly not a good idea to spend an hour at the gym, without washing. I have canceled my membership, as of this morning, but they are refusing to refund for the time I haven't been able to use the gym. Do I have a case for a refund since the gym is advertised as with shower facilities, but haven't provided them. They told me I am still free to use everything else in the gym so they won't refund. 20 March 2015: Signed up 17 April 2015: Easy Gym sent email to say showers going to be refurbished 18 April 2015: Showers out of action 24 April 2015: "Unfortunately we have discovered that this is a much bigger job than anticipated" 13 May 2015: I sent an email to ask about the refurbishment. 20 May 2015: Reply "Due to reasons outside our control we are currently unable to specify a date in which the works will be completed." 03 June 2015: "we were forced to shut down the showers by the landlord over alleged leaks. " 04 June 2015: Emailed requesting my account to be closed, my email was ignored. 08 June 2015: "We are writing to give you an update on our male shower room refurbishment. We have now received approval to continue our work and all being well, the new shower block will reopen on Monday 15th June. " 08 June 2015: Reminded them about my previous email, Also emailed another department about my closure request. 09 June 2015: They closed the account, but won't refund me.
  20. Hi All, First post on the forum, I am having a problem with Vodafone since porting my number across. Like many others by the seems of it I have no mobile data. I can call and text but no data. I have spoken to Vodafone customer services numerous time on this issue and the call has allegedly been escalated to the network team. This call has been with this team for about 10 days and I cannot get an answer as to what is happening. So far I have been through the internet settings with every customer service person on every call. I have had the texts sent to me to do the Telco equivalent of have you tried turning it off an on again. They have blamed the SIM card and have had a new SIM sent. Another half a day without a phone at all while switch took place. Then I was told the call has been escalated to the network team and I will get a txt in a couple of days to let me know what is happening. This was about 10 days ago and nothing has happened since. I have spoken to customers services again today and there is still no update and I was told there is no SLA to fix this issue and to wait a few more days. I did not realise how much I rely on the mobile data for little things when out and about. I am now very frustrated as I have a smart phone which I can't use as such when away from wifi. I cannot wait 6 weeks or more like other users who have posted here and I am still paying for a service I am not getting. To rub salt into the wound I get a text from Vodafone stating you have unlimited uk data for 2 more months. So enjoy watching movies or listening to music. Would have been nice to use some of it. What sort of action can I take with Vodafone? e.g. Do I have grounds to terminate the contract and return the phone as they are not supplying the service I have signed up for. Any advise or possible routes other that customer service to get the issue solved. Thanks Matthew
  21. My son came over from Australia at the end of July 2013 for his annual visit. We visited an Orange store and took out a sim only 28 / 30 day rolling contract in order that we could cancel it as soon as he went back. We cancelled it at the same store and I also rang Orange to confirm cancellation. £59.58 was paid by direct debit on 2d September which I then cancelled. I never gave it another thought until I received a letter dated 3rd April 2014 saying there were changes being made to my Orange account regarding price. I wrote back immediately saying I had no account with Orange and would they kindly delete my records. 27th August 2014: I received a letter saying I owed £373.95 and threatening to disconnect me if I didn’t pay immediately. I wrote back on 7th September giving a detailed explanation of when and where the account was cancelled. I also explained that on receipt of their letter I had called in to the store again and the Manager – Simon – confirmed that after checking their system I had definitely been on a 28 / 30 day contract which I had cancelled! 25th September 2014: I received another letter saying I owed £406.27. I again wrote back immediately to explain the situation yet again. 13th November 2014: I received a letter from a company called dlc saying I now owed £435.06 and threatening me with legal action! I did not want to get involved with a debt collecting company so I rang EE / Orange on 17th November. Absolute waste of time – hadn’t a clue what I was talking about. I then decided to go back to my local store yet another 20 mile return trip. 23rd November 2014: I spoke to Simon at the store and after a wait of 30 minutes whilst he was on the phone he explained to me that the problem had now been fully resolved. Luckily his Area Manager had been available and she had personally taken the matter over. Between them it was all sorted and they were very apologetic. My feeling of relief did not last long. 1st December 2014; I received yet another letter from dlc but presumed it had just been sent out before all he paperwork had gone through so just ignored it. 7th January 2015: Yet another letter from dlc informing me that I owe £435.06 and my account is now being managed by Mercantile Data Bureau Ltd., a subsidiary of Hillesden Securities. They have asked that I contact them to discuss an affordable repayment plan! Simon did explain to me that there have been horrendous problems since EE took over Orange and I have accepted all of the above both calmly and politely. However my patience is now wearing very thin. I would appreciate it if anyone could please give me advice on what my next step should be. I must admit I am very reluctant to deal with either dlc or Mercantile Data Bureau, especially as I don’t owe a penny, but will do so if that is the only option left open to me. I am quite happy to write to Orange again but would welcome a contact name if possible. Thank you in anticipation.
  22. Hi, I have a debt with Lloyds, due to a personal loan when I was employed by them. Of course there was PPI on there, as an employee it was required of me in order to get the loan. long story short, I had to resign from my job with them due to moving hundreds of miles into a womens refuge to escape domestic violence. They refused my ppi claim as I had resigned and wouldn't help me transfer my job to another branch. I tried to get them to agree to reduced payments, while I got sorted; again refused. As I had so much else going on, they really were the least of my worries and I ignored them. Right or wrong, I know better now and wouldn't dream of doing it again. The debt became statute barred in October 13, I've found this out through the CAB. I've been getting letters from Lowells, but having read advice on here, ignored them. My credit file was clean, the default had dropped off. I was accepted for a 'proper' bank account, and had to pass a credit check for my current job so I know it was fine. Now all of a sudden, Lowells have placed defaults on my credit file for every month from October 13, which is when I'm assuming they bought the debt. They're saying last payment was made 2009, it wasn't, it was June 2007. I obviously can't ignore them any longer, they're also threatening to take me to court, bless their cotton socks. What do I do now please? Thanks in advance!
  23. Hi all My father passed away last month however a few months prior to that he had started talks with one of the "we will help you get PPI back" companies. I know what these guys are like and they have contacted my mother who is not up to speed on their tactics etc and she has agreed to continue the claim. However my query is, there is no official executor as he had no will, so how can they get the info they need from the institutions? Next of kin wont be able to access it will they? Also, am I right in assuming that any money they get from any claim should they be able to get the info will be received by the estate and then dispersed out? At the time of passing he had a Barclaycard, RBS Card (both around £1k balances and was always at that level) and an Argos card. He had had a loan in the past that was paid off. He also had something from Creation which was related to a purchase from PC World/Currys etc. TBH I dont really want to put my mother through all the hassle which these guys are likely to do, because its not just a case of my mother signing an authority form. She has to do everything I would imagine. And all that to be hit with a massive charge at the end of it. Am I right in my assumptions? Or close?
  24. Hello, I have been suffering since I moved to Vodafone on 5th November, I just ported my number from Three to Vodafone, and its still not ported, spoken to 25 different people almost 30 minutes everyday since then, walked into vodafone store no resolution, infact, the most irritating thing they do a cold transfer, and I have to repeat my self so many times. Also raised an official complaint to Mark to askmark@vodafone....., just get a confirmation with a complaint number 8574855 but no resolution yet, i keep getting emails with a different complaint number 8576541, saying me to verify security checks and need to chat with customer services, when I chat with customer services they say they have no information about the email. I think it was the worst decision of my life to move to Vodafone, my number is not working, loosing business, affecting me mentally, so many people trying to reach me and dont know what else, Will Vodafone compensate? Customer service now says my number is showing as a Vodafone number but is not active on Vodafone(One of the agent also said, its showing up as a Pay Monthly number which is not but a number coming from Three), I have just spent almost 1.5 hour with chat representative and got my call transferred and spoke to 2 agents for 15 minutes, no resolution, 1st one said they only handle pay monthly and second one said systems are down, don't know how a company of such a scale afford have systems down during a weekday! Any suggestions/guidance/similar experiences/someone who can help? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  25. Hi there, I have a Lloyds TSB Credit Card debt. Until 3 months ago, they were happy to recieve payments via my DMP Payplan. Despite that, they havent actually written to me for 2 years. No sign of being passed to a DCA. Now my PayPlan account is closed as I have decided to deal with all my creditors myself. Not sure if I should just wait to hear from them or take some other course of action? The outstanding balance is confusing because of PayPlans shoddiness, and my over-reliance on them. For example, I have another bank a/c debt with Lloyds. Payplan said the outstanding was £179. Since stopping with PayPlan, the debt has been passed to Wescot, who say the debt is £451. (This is on a separate thread). So back to the Credit Card debt - I am unsure of the amount outstanding, and wouldnt CCA request them because - as far as I know - Lloyds themselves are still dealing with it. Thanks again in advance
