  2. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but just been on the Universal Job match website and saw this : Universal Jobmatch will be replaced by the Find a job service on 14 May 2018. Important: If you have an existing Universal Jobmatch account it will not move to the new service. Save any information you want to keep, like your CV, cover letters and application history by 17 June 2018.
  3. Anyone signed up for the new job site that has been replaced Universal Job Match? I know UJM has had it's faults, but it was way better then Find a job, the new site is useless with jobs, it's terrible, why have this been brought out? Am I the only one who finds it rubbish?
  4. Are PCNs subject to the 6 years (england) statute barred law anyone know?
  5. Hi guys Around 2 years ago, I asked Cabot for a CCA request for a loan i had. They said at the time that they couldnt find the documentation so it was not enforceable. Ive recently had a letter form them saying they have now found this CCA agreement and that the debt is now enforceable! Theyve sent me a reconsituted copy but im wondering if this is now a debt i have to pay? If you look at the scan ive added, it looks like the document is missing something, and also surely there would have been more than 1 page of t&c's?? Is there not a time limit that they have to provide me with the CCA or its not enforceable? i ve read they committed an offence but that doesnt really help me in this situation Anyone know if this is now a debt again? i cant find anything similar to this anywhere thanks Scan 1 copy.pdf
  6. Had a what can only be described as a bizarre sign on session but got information from the work coach who says they are not allowed access to find a job unlike UJM.
  7. Hi last week we noticed that a strip of woodland near to my folks home was being destroyed by contracters. They have felled more than a few trees and cut a hole in hedgerows. We've discovered that the local council are allegedly going to redirect a public footpath through this area. We know that there was a covenant placed on that land... long before i was born and that it cannot be built on at all. The current footpath skirts around this wooded area, but if they redirect it... will cut right through it and leave a public foot path invading the privacy of every ones home who backs onto that wooded area. It's a nice road, no one is overlooked and every one says how peaceful and tranquil it is... but now they've destroyed it and seem to be continuing to do so as workmen were back out there today. There are huge gaps in the trees where they've been cut down, healthy trees... you can now see right through to the buildings beyond and the lights from a car park they built on the other side of this wooded area now intrude into peoples bedrooms. We need to find this covenant so we can check the legality of what they are trying to do, and stop it if we legally can. After doing some searching on my own, I cannot find out where to begin... From what little knowledge I have it's something to do with being owned by John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford and a covenant was created to stop if being built on... But I have nothing more to go on at this time. How do I find it? The council have been of no help, I called and mentioned this to the planning dept and they blanked me completely.
  8. Feb 2016 a purchase was made following a telephone call to the seller for advice and to confirm the correct parts were ordered for my vehicle registration on eBay with PayPal for £289.97. Shortly after fitting the clutch, it failed. The seller refused a refund or to cover mechanics costs, instead charged me to return the kit for warranty replacement. The replacement parts actually consisted of one new flywheel and other used parts with visible contamination rendering them unusable in several mechanics views, and missing all fitting bolts. The seller told me to get bolts and he would refund costs, but in trying to do this I discovered that the supplied item was not actually as described but a cheaper model for a lesser powered vehicle, hence its premature failure. I re contacted the seller to request the collection of the kit and delivery of the correct kit as originally ordered. The seller refused to do this, even asking for more money to correct their supply mistake. Failing to get satisfaction I raised a PayPal dispute. They were great all be it a little slow, fully investigated the case, looked at pictures of the part supplied compared with the actual part advertised (confirmed with two independent suppliers) and found my case worthy of a refund under Buyer Protection. This happened Jul 2016 after everything had been returned to the seller at my expense. Last week (Jul 2017) I get served a county court claim, addressed incorrectly, for £489.97 plus court fees, claiming the warranty replacement to have been damaged beyond use (a solid flywheel, returned as supplied) and assigning a £200 value to what they even describe as a free of charge item in the particulars. They also listed the person that fitted the clutch as a co-defendant, claiming he trades as a Limited MOT company, that is totally wrong. I have acknowledged receipt and now have a few weeks to present an online defence. PayPal say he doesn't have a case as we both agreed to their T&Cs and to abide by their mediation should a dispute accour. They also say the seller had the chance to contest and ruling from PayPal under Seller Protection which if won/agreed would have seen a fully reimbursement from PayPal. Obviously I am not privy to the facts of this. Doing research into other buyers being taken to court by this seller (there are many), it seems that there is a pattern of providing evidence inconsistent with the truth and trying to evade CRA2015 by claiming a trade sale not private at distance. Is there any precedent case I can quote to help defend myself? Has anyone had similar experience and won? Thanks
  9. Good afternoon, I have recently found my original finance agreement from Welcome Finance in 2007, for which I believe I was mis-sold shortfall insurance on the agreement. I was told by the salesman that if i did not take the shortfall insurance, then i would not be provided with finance. I had no idea it was optional until recently. I have contacted the FSCS in relation to starting a claim as per the Welcome website, I have the original credit agreement however, I have no details as to who the shortfall insurance was through as a) I was not given any documentation by Welcome other than the credit agreement and b) I never had to make a claim. I cannot contact Welcome as they are no more and want to have as much information as possible for the claim. Naively, I thought it was via Welcome Finance but it appears that was just the credit agreement. Can anyone assist with identifying who the shortfall insurance was through? the date i tool the policy out was April 2007. Any help appreciated
  10. Hi. A family member would like to know of how to find a good local(ish) employment lawyer to speak to about an employment issue. He is not in a union. Also, a good idea of cost for some initial advice would be good? Thank you in advance.
  11. Hi all, I'm a British ex-pat in Malta. A guy (also British) who owned a flat in the block I live in tragically died recently. It was used as a holiday home/rental so he rarely stayed there. We need to contact his family (or other new owners) about maintenance and other issues but have no contact details apart from the now deceased owner. How do we go about finding who is responsible for executing the will in the UK and identifying the new owner of the flat?
  12. Hi There, Just wondering where I should post a new question relating to where I could find information on who I had a HP credit agreement with a few years back when purchasing a car? Or who I should write to to ask? Any pointers gratefully received. Many thanks :0)
  13. Hi All, I could really do with some expert help here! A Bailiff visited me on 29/11/16 to collect money for an issue that i had no prior knowledge of. The bailiff told me it was for driving without insurance (something i have never done and can prove), and that is all the information i have. I want to do a section 14 statutory declaration, but have no information about the court hearing / date / court etc. How do i find this out without contacting the bailiff? I dont want them to find out im trying to stop them, and put further effort into recovering the money!! The only information i have on the final notice is a reference number and the client which is HMCTS London NW. Any ideas?
  14. My 86 year old aunt still pays her council tax in full by cheque every year. Her cheque stubs show a cheque written for exactly the right amount and there is a corresponding debit entry on her bank statement on 4th April. She's now however being threatened by the council who claim she hasn't paid. The payee wasn't filled in on the cheque stub I've only looked at the date and amount and admittedly made an assumption that such a very individual figure was in fact her council tax. Do banks still keep cleared cheques? Can we ask for it back to check it was what we think it was?
  15. Hi all. I recently read in the Sunday Times that even though some banks have told customers that they cannot find records regarding potential PPI claims because the claims are regarding loans that were over 6 years ago, once the Ombudsman has got involved, some banks have 'found' the records stored on 'legacy computer systems or microfiche'. This sounds too good to be true.....is there any truth in this, please?

  17. The PPI mis-selling scandal has dogged the banking world for a long time now, and bothered everyone with a variety of spam messages and mithering claims companies. Now, it looks like we might have another mis-selling scandal, thanks to the insurance world. The FCA think that insurance agents have potentially mis-sold policies to consumers, as well as falsifying documents, faking signatures, and sold products to people that will never, ever pay out. The Financial Conduct Authority has been looking into all this, and said that their study of 15 insurance firms and the agents found widespread examples of poor practice. They've also found companies that have failed to discipline an agent after they'd spotted their mis-selling deeds, and their falsification of customer documentation. Other discoveries showed agents selling travel insurance to people with medical conditions, which aren't covered by the policy they ended up with. As such, the FCA have given the insurance world a chance to sort themselves out, and ordered 'Section 166 reviews' on two companies, which means tha they'll have to pay for an independent firm to come in and review the way they do things. Another two companies have been told to stop all sales activities. Sadly the FCA haven't named anyone in all this. "General insurance is a large and important sector and we are concerned about the potential for customer detriment arising from the lack of oversight of appointed representatives," Jonathan Davidson, FCA director of supervision, said in a statement. "All principal firms need to consider these findings and look again at their practices." We wouldn't be surprised if there's compensation coming the way of people who have been mis-sold, in yet another headache for the UK's financial sector. http://www.bitterwallet.com/insurance/fca-find-mis-selling-in-insurance-92730
  18. Hi, Just wondering how can you be traced where you live in the UK?
  19. Can someone please offer me some advice on ths matter please, i have some registered defaults on my credit file from credit card companies for the last 3 years, i am in a dmp with payplan with who i make a token payment to all companies as i am unemployed. I have written to all card companies asking for my cca, some have replied that they cannot find any paperwork and that the account is unenforcable, and others have said they cannot find the cca and will suspend payment to the account until the cca is found. 1, what is the position on this, do i carry on paying them or just stop until they find the paperwork,if they ever do? 2, if they dont get back to me until after the 6 year time period for the defaults has elapsed, and the defaults are removed , what then? 3,if i was to be given a cash sum to make an offer of a f+f payment to all is there any benefits to pay them off now, before the 6 years, if accepted, or just keep paying the token payments until the 6 years has passed and defaults are removed anyway, am i still liable to keep paying after the defaults are removed, until the total debt is repaid, as at this rate it would take me 25+ years to clear with the token payments, i make to them. THANK YOU FOR ANY ADVICE ON THIS MATTER
  20. Hello, I have just checked my partner's credit report as we are applying for a new tenancy (our rented house has been sold, we have 6 weeks to get out). I was shocked to find 2 CCJ's that neither of us had a clue about. They were both registered at previous addresses long after we'd moved on, so no claims/summons were ever received. The credit report does not show who the claimants were, or what they were claiming for, and neither does the online register of judgements. How do we find out what the hell these are for? Thanks in advance.
  21. We have had a disasterous refit of our shower, and are suffering leaks and noticed some cracked grouting too. We have been in touch with Citizen's Advice Bureau and the first thing they said we needed was a written report from a professional to explain what the problems are and how to put them right. However we are struggling to find a professional who is willing to put pen to paper to give us this. Reasons cited include they don't want to get involved in a legal battle, the repercussions for them going against some dodgy plumbers. Can anyone suggest how I can get a plumber willing to do this sort of report? Hope someone can help.
  22. Which? launches new carers’ hub to bridge the gap More than a million people looking after an elderly relative could be losing out on crucial advice and support, research by Which? Elderly Care has revealed. Nearly a third of the 3.8 million unpaid carers in England struggle to find the information they need from their local council. There are also large differences between areas. Around half of unpaid carers in Brent, Hounslow, Sheffield and Lambeth had difficulty finding information and advice. New hub for unpaid carers In response to the lack of information available to carers, Which? Elderly Care has launched a free Carers’ hub, which brings together advice pages with local authority information. The new hub helps carers find the information they need, whether that’s how to arrange a carer’s assessment with their local council, get information on the benefits and financial support that is available or carers’ rights in the workplace. 23. Hello I would be grateful for some advice. I spoke to my mortgage lender this morning and if I dont find a buyer or settle my mortgage debt they will commence repossession proceedings in 7 days time. My mortgage with Acenden ended last September. I was unable to repay it, so I put the flat on the market, found a buyer very quickly but unfortunately just before exchange of contracts my partner had a stroke, forcing me to stop the sale. Some time later I put my property back on the market again found a buyer very quickly, but she pulled out just before we exchanged. That was a couple of weeks ago. If I ended up in court would I have a strong chance of overturning the eviction. My property is back on the market. I am still continuing to pay my mortgage, having never missed a payment.
