  1. My relation has recently had there Motability vehicle tyres replaced at Kwik Fit. Kwik Fit is the company Motability use for tyre work. All Motability vehicles tryes that are replaced, particular front tyres, are to include necessary tracking / alignment checks and adjustment. this is a mandatory operation and does not need prior Motability approval ! My concern is that some of the Kwik Fit locations are fobbing off Motability customers and Kwik Fit are also not inviting Motability customers to leave a review using TrustPilot, which is also against TrustPilot guidlines! Here are the details of my relations complaint left on TrustPilot ..... Motability Customer - Anlaby Hull Depot I have recently attended at the above location as a Motability customer to have my front tyres replaced and tracking adjusted. I attempted to use the online booking system for Motability customers, unfortunately this was not working, so I telephoned the relevant number to make a booking. I attended the booking in good time. On arrival I was greeted by Chris, he took my details and double checked my car, I explained to him that the tracking needs to be checked, I also showed him the safety sheet from Ford who had recommended this be done, he confirmed he would put this through the system for authorisation and see what Motability say. My vehicle was completed within the hour, however the tracking was not completed, the Branch manager used the excuse that Motability had not authorised the work ! I was obviously concerned at this and I made contact with Motabilty personally to discuss this. Motabilty took the trouble to call the depot. The kwik fit manager told them the tracking didn't need doing! Motabilty advised him of the agreement they have. I immediately went back into the depot and spoke to the manager and his assistant. Who had blatantly lied to me as to avoid doing the work. However by this time they had changed what they had told me and also told me they hadn't put through the tracking request as it didn't need doing. This is despite the depot seeing a safety sheet from Ford confirming the work needed doing, also any tracking work with new tyres involving Motability vehicles are now included. A lot of heated words where exchanged. I was also extremely disappointed at the way in which the manager spoke to me and was virtually fronting up to me! Once I was out of the depot and had simmered for a while I reported the matter to the Area Manager who took details and responded to me within a week and apologised. I will not be attending back at this location and would strongly advise any Motability customers to exercise caution and ensure this depot and other kwik fit locations are carrying out work to Motability guidelines! ..... I hope this is of help.
  2. my brother did something wrong at work and fully admits this.he has been in the job for just under a year and the firm had him in the office and the outcome was that he was given a written warning, now this was in the first week of December 2015 and he still hasn't recived anything.if he now gets something should it be from the date in December or from the date its issued? and does it expire after 6 months? cheers
  3. Just had this drop in to my email inbox: Attached, was a word.doc which I will not be opening as it contains a virus according to Sophos (one of only two out of 54 that picked up on it). In addition, I have not hired a vehicle in the last two years, so it is extremely unlikely I would have incurred a PCN anywhere. If anyone receives a similar email, do not open the attachment. Use a site such as VirusTotal to check that it is an infected file, and then contact any rental company that you have hired a vehicle from recently.
  4. Over the last couple of years Pay Day Loans have not had a good time. Since the Financial Conduct Authority took over from the OFT - they have reined in the dreadful practices used by this industry. Many of the companies have left the industry altogether, the rest are having to abide by some very strict regulations. There have been lots of fines issued and borrowers have been compensated for some of their dreadful experiences. We are now seeing quite a few caggers report back that they have finally removed themselves from the clutches of these companies. Make sure you aren't one that finds themselves IN their clutches this year !!
  5. Hi guys, Was/Am on ESA income related, Support Group AND DLA Middle care component. Recieved a letter today from my council advising me that my housing benefit was suspended coz of my ESA claim had been terminated. I started full time college in Aug; and took out a student loan. I was advised by the student loan company that they had informed the DWP that there was a change in my circumstances. I noticed a couple of weeks ago I was being overpaid ESA. I contacted them, informed them again that I was at college, full time and had taken a student loan out. I went to my local jobcentre and provided relevant details, including my fees; my loan payment schedule etc. I have heard nothing from the DWP, I have not been advised of a fraud investigation, asked to attend a medical. So what the hell is going on? Surely if they have terminated my ESA on the basis Im fit for work.....then my DLA would be terminated as well? I have not an assessment, a medical or any other contact with the ESA; nor have I had any correspondance from them, no phone calls, emails, letters or texts.
  6. I am upset and angry that the Financial Ombudsman Service clearly has no regard for vulnerable consumers using their service. I would like to warn people DO NOT use the Financial Ombudsman Service. My first complaint was against my bank Halifax, lending me money I could not afford to pay back, breaching parts of the lending code, and that they had leant to me whilst breaching their own lending criteria. FOS sided with Halifax saying they did nothing wrong, even though I'm nearly £14 in debt. My second complaint was against Debt Free Direct. I had complained that they had used my DLA as income, the FOS said they had to. They still insisted I was getting £962 per month, this is not correct as it was £888 per month. Said Debt Free Direct had done nothing wrong, no surprise there. I moaned about the fact I had paid in "2790 and they had only paid £158 to my creditors, they said they couldn't. I am sat here in tears, the FOS are an utter bloody disgrace who do not help the consumer. ]I would warn people do not use them at any cost. Totally flabbergasted!!
  7. Hi all, although its a much discussed topic "Statute Barred" I'd thought I share some recent communication between myself and ecashwindow otherwise known as Early Pay Pay Loans. A month or so ago I received an email from ecashwindow stating that a CCJ was "being" issued at my home address. without acnowledging anything I responded to the email with "You will need to send me copies of any signed paperwork and documents relating to the suggested loan I have with you. Sending me threatening emails suggesting court action will not prompt me to make any payments unless you can provide the requested information". Then yesterday I received the same threatening email and replied with the same response. I at no time sent in a letter with any personal details or form of payment requesting hard copies. But I did get a response on email from them with a copy of a loan agreement with all my personal details on it. However the loan was from 2008 and defaulted in 2008 so it is now statute barred. So they are being hopeful of getting the payment with threatening emails. I guess what I am trying to say is for anyone being chased by this company be sure that you ave all the facts in place before you think about making any payment. It is just scare tactics. I am also seeking advice from the people that know on this site. The email they sent me yesterday contained personsal information such as; Full name and address Full bank name, account number and sort code Bare in mind I have not confirmed who I am or agreed that the loan was mine, so surely they are breaking some kind of data protection by sending out personal details such as this . If they are then I will need help in building a case against them.
  8. ConsumerNET Warning people!!! I logged my complain with them in AUGUST 2011 whereas I received my money from LLoyds at the END OF OCTOBER 2012!!! They have not done anything to help my problem with LLoyds TSB and washed their hands when I complained for their lack of action in November 2011 and then march 2012. I spent hours on the phone with lloyds trying to speed up the process but Lloyds were messing me about for a year. In meantime CONSUMERNET bombarded me with final warnings, notices to pay immediately despite I did not receive my money yet. I received about 10 THREAT letters from them despite informing them on number of ocassions that I did not receive my money! When I came back from holiday a letter was waiting for me with added extra costs for not paying the fee despite the paytment form Lloyds was still not issued to me! They do not care about your problems all they do is SEND 1 LETTER to LLOYDS and then charge you 30% for doing nothing. Throughout this time they proved to be unprofessional, and sat and watched me deal with all the problems for over 12 months!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!
  9. I have a question on capability dismissal. I have recently received First warning on my performance. The ground for it is an assessment that I had a month ago. I had few objections on the assessment (the way the assessment was done, range of questions etc..). I have raised these issues on the formal meeting with my line manager and HR representative, but I still got First Warning. The formal letter I have received is mentioning my right to appeal to one of CEO. I do not think that it will make much sense to appeal as I believe this is happening with management approval. But I do not think that assessment was fair and I think I have enough evidences for this. My question is as following: if I will be dismissed and go for tribunal will it take into account that I appealed or haven't appealed on First Warning. Is it worth to appeal from this point of view? Many thanks. Emily
  10. If you're a lady driver, I would be very wary about using this company, as they have some serious computer issues that may leave you driving uninsured. I have just found out today that my wife has been driving our children around uninsured for 3 days because Esure lost her proof of no claims bonus on not just one, but two occasions. They claim they have written several letters that have mysteriously not arrived, and our first proof of no claims bonus we sent to them also mysteriously didn't arrive. I find it hard to believe that in 2015, so much post from/to one company can go missing, without it being an issue with the company themselves. I arrived home today to find out that they had just cancelled my wife's insurance policy without warning and refused to reinstate it, without me paying for a new policy via credit card over the phone. I was left with no other option but to purchase another policy, otherwise my wife would have been out driving our children home with no cover. I hate to think what would have happened if she had been in a crash and needed the insurance policy during this period.
  11. I have developed dark blue stains on my face and when I went to my GP was told that they were because I had been prescribed Minocycline tablets for Acne and left on them for 30 years and never been told that the skin staining can be a side effect. I was referred to a NHS skin clinic and was told by the consultant that the patches may never go and they are not suitable for lazer treatment as they are on a lower layer of the skin make up. Only option is camouflage make up, I am extremely upset over this and very angry that I was never warned of this side effect. I feel I have a genuine case for negligence here. Any advice please
  12. Hi, I recently saw the previous version of this advert on eBay: Link removed And immediately thought it was a [problem] but was intrigued so I bought one for £6.99 including free postage. It IS a [problem]. The eBay user edit. He's selling 8GB SD cards and USB sticks purporting them as 128/256GB ones. Basically, they've been 'hacked' and have had their "File Descriptor" identities changed to reflect a new size. What happens when users get these items is they insert them into their PC/Camera/Phone and it reports as the expected size but when they try and save anything over the actual 8GB the pic/video/file, etc seems to save but is never retrievable. But most users don't get to the 8GB limit before leaving positive feedback! Imagine if you'd used this card/stick to save your whole family holiday pics and videos thinking that 128GB was loads of space only to come home to find that only 8GB of your files were usable? Now..... The question is what to do? This user obviously has my home address so I don't want to raise an eBay refund (and I want to keep the SD card as evidence) since it may have unpleasant consequences. He (and it is a He) is still selling the cards and has branched out to selling faked USB sticks. Should I contact Trading Standards in Cheshire where the seller lives? Should I create a false eBay account and report him? I don't know. I just know that this twonk is ripping people off and needs to have his 11-year eBay account killed and everyone who he's conned told what has happened. Any advice would be good Thanks people, Swirly
  13. Not quite sure which forum to put this one but I think its worth sharing.... Over the last few weeks, we appear to be getting an increased level of cold calls and known [problem] calls. Some on mobiles but some on main home land-line. Not unusual in itself but it appears that there may be new technology out there, that spoofs your caller display into showing you a number with your own towns dialing pre-fix. When you see a call coming in from your own town, you naturally think its a genuine call. We've had 2 separate calls this week where we actually hung on until someone spoke at the other end. One caller claimed to be able to get us pre-assigned government compensation if anyone in our family had worked in construction or a factory and the other one claiming to be from Microsoft who wanted to speak to the owner of our home PC. Put the phone down on the first one and the 2nd one put the phone down on us (we were playing dumb) Googling the number after, shows that there is no record of the number on any of the "Who Calls Me" type of websites or registered against any genuine business It would be interesting to know if anyone else has been caught out by this.
  14. Hi, I'll try and keep this as brief as possible and thanks for reading:-D I have worked for my company for four years now and am currently undergoing assessment for bi-polar disorder. I feel that numerous incidents in work have triggered long periods of absence due to anxiety and depression. On returning to work each time I have been given formal warnings that lead up to a final written. In the final written, my union rep left his phone on record during the adjournment (while my line manager and a senior manager from another store decide my fate) which I wasn't aware of until after the final written had been issued. the first thing you hear on the recording is the senior manager calling me a name related to sterio-types of mental illness and also using the f word in the remark. following this (quite rightly) my rep was suspended however, the final still stood. Surely, they should have ATLEAST re-done that meeting? especially since what happened was of no fault of my own? The other main incident that has affected my health, was earlier in my employment with them, working as a team leader on nights (one of 3 women) I experienced sexual harassment from my manager where he took my phone from me and tried to go through my videos and pictures while saying 'I bet youve got loads of dirty ones of yourself' on a table full of male colleagues. This made some of them feel it was ok to join in. After a very short period of this I started to experience panic attacks and was signed off by the doctor. I had a home visit with personnel and made the complaint. some time later she tells me this manager has been 'spoken to'. Not feeling this was adequate, I stepped down and went back onto days. My file has four years worth of doctors notes stating depression and anxiety, which comes under disability (and especially will be if I'm diagnosed as bi-polar) and yet I seen to have been punished for this every step of the way. I am by no means saying that work caused this, but these things have definitely not helped and have probably triggered some of the relapses in my illness. Does anyone know were I might stand with this as it just doesn't seem right. thanks for your time everyone.

  16. I am writing this thread as a warning to others because the enquiry below is identical to two others that I have received in the past 2 weeks!!! This morning I have spoken at length with a debtor who received a visit from a bailiff early this morning regarding a PCN issued by a London borough. Police had to be called and her car has since been *removed to the vehicle pound. She is utterly distraught. This visit came as a surprise because the debtor (wrongly) believed 'internet advice' that *the debt cannot now be enforced by a bailiff following her 'credit card chargeback' that she applied for in September last year. The brief background is that the debtor had received a PCN and had appealed to the local authority. She is adamant that she had not received a response to the appeal (unfortunately, she failed to keep a copy of the appeal which was sent by letter instead of by email). The local authority registered the debt at TEC and a warrant was issued. She did receive an initial letter from the bailiff but did not address the letter and neither did she call the council. The bailiff visited her property in August and clamped her vehicle and charged a fee of just under £500 which included one "attending to remove" fee. She visited a website which she thought *at the time was run by solicitors and believing their "advice" that she had been "defrauded" she used the "template" to apply for a 'chargeback' against her credit card provider.* She did not find the process of the 'chargeback' simple and only eventually received a refund from her credit card *shortly before Christmas. She received a letter from the bailiff company a few weeks ago to request payment. She admits that she ignored the letter because of the 'advice' from the website in question which included their claims that" "There is no warrant, you paid it" and that: " The bailiff cannot sue you for the PCN element of the transaction because he has been caught cheating with his fees" At the time of the visit in August the debt had been £497. Today the debt is £722 to include a removal fee of £225. Given her history of a 'chargeback' against her credit card, the bailiffs gave her 2 hours to pay by cash. She could not raise the money and her car was therefore removed. Storage fees of £40 per day are now being applied and she has been told *that her car will be sold after a period of 5 working days. I will be posting more after reviewing the documents.
  17. Hi my partners car has had a warning light show up. It is a picture of a cog. Upon research he has found out it apparently means "fuel additive to be checked every 37,000 miles". Can anybody tell me what this means, and which fuel additive we're talking about and what additive needs to be added and where? Also a steering wheel with an exclamation mark in the picture of the steering wheel Many thanks

  19. Hi just want some advice here, there's probably not a lot I can do and I think I'm probably a bit 'bang to rights' but do want an opinion or two if anyone can offer anything of the sort. I live in a household with a lot of cars, and even though swinton wasn't the cheapest we went with them as we didn't want all the cars insured by different companies. Anyway everythings gone fine for about 6 months and everythings been paid on time. Today I've got a bunch of letters (one for each policy) informing me that the policies have been cancelled, I am not sure why this is - my sister who is also affected rang them up and they say they can't help at this time (I'll get clarification on this if I can), but it's probably because of a missing utility bill we were supposed to send? Now it's not been requested of me, like my proof of no claims bonus was, so this is news to me. What's bothering me the most, is that each policy has been cancelled for each car - and all the letters were received today together yet are printed on different dates, giving 7 days notice. Now some letters were printed a couple of days ago, but the letter for the cancellation of my car was printed on the 5th of this month, and delivered alongside a letter printed on the 18th for another policy. Which means (and i've just checked askmid to confirm, in the last week i've driven across the country a couple of times completely uninsured and completely unaware, and i'm sure i'll have come across a tax checking camera in all that mileage. Losing the insurance policy is one thing, I'm not thrilled about this. I don't evade having insurance, however in court ignorance would not stand up. I know it's christmas and post can be late (actually it's not as I've just received a bunch of parcels I ordered day before yesterday using standard shipping rates). I suppose I'm asking if i've grounds for complaint. I've still yet to figure out why the policy has been cancelled, but I'm not happy about the me driving for over a week uninsured part. The car is now off the public road.
  20. Hi I have an employee who 11 months ago admitted dishonesty, and was given a final written warning. I now have reason to suspect that he/she has recently stolen money from the company, and whilst I don't have completely watertight proof, there is sufficient evidence to convince me of guilt. Would my suspicion of wrongdoing be enough to dismiss this employee?
  21. HI Guys, In 2005 I took on an interest only re-mortgage for 20 years with GE Money. I was massively in debt (still am) at the time and this was the one and only way I could release some equity on my house as I was desperate to repair house problems etc. Anyway, GE knew all about the debts and were quite happy to help even though it was 100% of the value We have just received letter from GE asking us how we intend to repay the loan and of course, we can't. There's simply no way of paying £105,000 in 10 years, not on the money we earn. I have written to them asking if they could extend the loan and maybe put us on a repayment plan, but had a phone call from them saying the payments would be over £1200 per month and we couldn't afford that. And that they couldn't extend the loan. So that's that. In 10 years we will be out. Most of it our own fault, not thinking of the future, but at the time everyone was saying houses were a pension, and that we would simply be able to sell and downsize. I think with all our problems, we should never have been given an interest only mortgage, but I guess there's not much we can do now. I really would like to see interest only mortgages banned for main residence, as how can anyone pay them off unless they have massive pension pot coming up sometime. If anyone has any ideas for us, please say!
  22. Hi, I recently had costs awarded against me at a PHR. I had not been expecting this. I am picking up the pieces now after the shock of it all. A good friend referred me to this forum and to some recent posts about costs, in particular the fact that the employer is not allowed to charge more than £33 ph for preparing for the hearing. Mine charged £110 ph - this was not challenged by the judge. They also included external solicitor's costs on top. If I apply the £33 limit it works out that I will be paying more in costs than the employer was allowed to claim for. I am incensed by this! What can I do?
  23. Hi, I'm not sure if I have posted this in the right place as I could not find a forum related to my query. I have just received a 'request for meeting - warning you are at stage one' because I owe a little over one weeks rent. I am fuming, this is the second one I've received, (the first one at the end of August because again I owed just over one weeks rent) I get paid at the end of the month and always make my rent payment on that date. By looking at my rent account they can see that I make regular payments and I feel like they are harassing me. But before I call them I was wondering if anybody knows if they can send these warnings for such a little amount of rent arrears? I always thought it was four weeks arrears? and I obviously don't want to go in all guns blazing if they are allowed to do this. She has said in the letter, 'Despite my previous letter you still have a rent debt of £just over one weeks rent. It is important that we meet to talk about how you will pay this debt. (I have paid two lots of rent since the previous letter, putting me in front until this week) It then says in bold - If you don't keep this appointment o arrange another one and the debt remains unpaid, I will start legal action which could result in you losing your home. The appointment is for the day before payday??? How much sense does this make. Anyway, calmed down a bit now I have typed my frustration If anyone knows if they can send these letters I would be grateful Many thanks
