  1. 1) My 'Actions for getting employment" doesn't stipulate a number of jobs to apply for per week (which is odd, when I claimed before I had to apply for 2). Obviously I don't want to display every single job I apply for (which would risk creating a baseline figure), but what is the minimum number that an Advisor needs to see in order to sanction me (for insufficient applications)? 2) They also included 'log into my UJM account daily' - I have NOT ticked the box that allows the DWP to view the jobs I've applied for, BUT can they still see how often I've logged in? Ta
  2. BHS has gone into administration, but is continuing to trade for the moment. Customers are no longer able to claim refunds for items purchased before 22 April, but they will still be able to exchange goods. From 22 April you're only able to get a refund if the product is faulty. Restrictions have reportedly been placed on to vouchers whereby they can now only be used in a transaction that is worth double the voucher's amount. The balance must be settled by cash, debit or credit card. http://www.express.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/664166/Spend-BHS-vouchers-Shoppers-chain
  3. Well now you know why your Local Library or Swimming pool is closing down ! No money for social care - because staff are being paid to prevent whistleblowing or criticism of bosses. Local Authorities are apparently requiring staff who are taking early retirement/redundancy or leaving after a dispute, to sign a gagging order (compromise agreement). It would appear that the person leaving receives more money if they do this.
  4. Hi everyone, I'm new here and after some advice. I was made redundant from my job last September through no fault of my own and been signing on ever since. However, before Christmas I had an appointment with my advisor at my local job centre and gave me details of a job to apply for but 2 weeks ago I received a letter saying that they are going to stop my job seekers allowance from the end of January to the middle of march. I have since appealed the decision in writing but when i went to the job centre today I had to fill in another form and explain again. I know it was my fault for
  5. Tesco are seemingly intent on annoying absolutely everyone in the UK at the moment. So what are they up to now? Well, they’ve just announced that, from 23rd July 2015, the minimum basket spend for those of you who shop online for groceries, will change from £25 to £40. Of course, you can still spend below that amount, but if you do, you’ll find yourself paying the £4 surcharge. http://www.bitterwallet.com/tesco-up-minimum-spend-for-online-shopping/86484
  6. Tesco Bank is reducing the rate its credit card holders can earn Clubcard points when spending outside of Tesco, blaming a looming cap on interchange fees coming later this year. Currently 2.8 million cardholders can rack up Clubcard points when spending using a Tesco credit card, wherever they spend. But soon the points Tesco Clubcard Credit Card holders can earn on purchases made outside of the supermarket will change from one for every £4 spent to one for every £8 spent. Tesco’s Clubcard Credit card customers will see the change from 1st December. https:/
  7. In times past, when Amazon offered you Free Super Saver Delivery, it really meant free. That all changed in July 2013, when the company introduced a £10 minimum spend to have your order delivered on the house. Almost two years later, the online retailer has announced it's raising that limit again, by doubling it to £20. One reason for the change could be to incentivise customers to put down £79 for Prime, which ships millions of items next day (and includes video streaming and other media services). The company may also be moving to to cover the cost of its wide range

  11. I am curious, I know that if they DWP suspect you of fraud they can look at your bank statements or if they are doing a spot check on you they will ask to see a bank statement. While I am not currently in a situation where this affects me I am still curious as to how they view how you spend your benefit money? I live with family and so I give my family the main chunk of my benefit in cash to cover the bulk of my food and cortribution to bills I don't get any HB etc. The small about left is spent on some food shopping, some interent shopping such as books, dvd rentals etc and the odd bit
