  1. Hi I am new to the site and just wanted some advice. I had a 3 mobile contract which I ended 3 years ago at the end of an 18 month contract. I ended it by calling up and telling them that I was leaving and the reason was that their service was poor due to poor signal and problems with voicemails. I then cancelled my direct debit and thought nothing of it but I have since found out that I have a default for £82 which lowell have taken over and I have since paid in full. I emailed 3 complaints and have had many conversations with them but they will not remove the default. They are saying that the default is a true reflection of the account and that it was not logged that I ever called up complaining. I disputed this and asked for all itemized bills over the duration of the contract which I have since received. After looking over them I have found 2 calls made to them to make a card payment but nothing to 3 customer services although I could have called from a landline but I don't recall. My point is that I had spoke to them but I don't think they logged the calls which is their mistake. They say that they have no logged calls from me but I can prove I have rang up on 2 occasions and that they never logged the calls which highlights that they can make mistakes. I also do not remember getting a default notice from them as at the time I was working away and the letters may not have been passed on to me by my mother. The default that is on my account is now 3 years old and I would really like it removed. "Deep Breath" After looking through all the numerous bills I have noticed another massive mistake on their part, they have sent me some other persons phone bill with all their details on as well as all the persons call logs etc which I find very naughty. So the question is with the above information do I stand a chance of getting this thing removed ?
  2. Can anyone advise please? My husband is on Tesco mobile and has had his contract just under a year. He has been having problems with his handset for almost 6 months now and has spoken to Tesco handset support on several occasions where they tell him they will send a jiffy bag for him to return the phone for repair and it will be back with him within 21 working days.....he explains he cant be without his phone for that period of time, but there is nothing they say they can do. Up to yet, he has rang them several times and been told the same thing and up to yet........no jiffy bags have arrived!! After making numerous calls to them we emailed complaints and received no replies!! Again 2 weeks ago week we emailed and actually received a response saying "contact handset support" we replied back saying we have spoken to them several times and they tell us 21 working days for repair and we'll send jiffy bag, but no jiffy bags have arrived. Each time they respond with the same thing......"contact handset support" Last week we sent a written complaint by post and have received an email back again saying the same thing.........."contact handset support" and "unfortunately there is no more we can do and we will not comment further on this complaint" We have even asked for a cost to buy out of the contract and they have quoted £300......we asked if they could drop his tarrif to the lowest possible to reduce the buy out cost and they said they cant do that (strange though how they share the 02 network and 02 will reduce a tarrif to reduce buy out costs!) Surely there must be something that I can do as I am not getting the quality of service I believe I should be getting..........and I am paying a contract for a phone which is faulty. My husband cannot be without his handset because he is a lorry driver and works away, and we have a disabled daughter and my husband needs to be contactable at all times!!! Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you
  3. I handed in my phone more than two months ago and since then spend a nice sum phoning them and hearing excuse after excuse. Finally I asked to speak with the manager but "he is in the office and unavailable". I know this is just a phone but this betrail of trust makes it somehow more important. I read here about trading standards and CAB but it seems just a way of spending more on calls for "free" advice. I have their receipt so is there anything that can be done other than MCOL? Do I need to do anything before starting a claim?
  4. Have been with Asda Mobile since 2009 with no problems. Just over two weeks ago I started receiving text messages from Asda Mobile regarding set up details for Internet and picture messaging. Over the past few days I have had over forty messages. It makes no difference if I accept the settings or not. I have contacted their customer services.... nine people in all. Some advisors have confirmed the sending of set up texts has been disabled.... no effect they still keep on coming. Other advisors have said they cannot stop the text messages and claimed I have a fault with my sim card. Another sim card tried, again still the same problem. I was then asked to reset my phone with no effect. Next they said my phone was faulty and I should return to my supplier. I tried another mobile phone with my sim card and once again the texts are still arriving. I believe the problem is caused by changes Asda Mobile(Vodaphone) have made to their system in the past few weeks. This is causing the setup text messages to be sent out when my phone logs onto their network. My phone connects to my car phone system using Bluetooth rSAP, when I leave my car the Asda network seems to regard my mobile as a new phone logging onto their network and it sends out between two and six text messages each time. Anyone else had the same problem ? BDI BDI
  5. My sister has just bought a phone online from Affordable Mobiles.com, and unfortunately the phone fell and the screen broke. She had one month's free insurance with them, and she has had to ring them, email them - the insurance company that is, and they eventually have told her to send it to them, and it will take about a week to repair the phone, but she has no other phone and they haven't even offered a courtesy phone? Which insurance is best for mobiles, in Northern Ireland
  6. Anyone used Tesco mobile? I see on their website that when I purchase from their phone shop, I m in contract with O2. Does Tesco have their network? Do they partner with O2? Is it reliable?
  7. Hello, I am having trouble with Tesco Mobile . When I got the phone in may 2012 it was ok but as time went on the signal got worse and worse. I complain to customer sevises to be told that Tesco cannot garuntee a good signal in some kinds of buildings. so I persivered with them. I complained again a few weeks later to be told the signal is fine in my area . so again a persivered and again I complained yet another few weeks later only to be told that according to my bills I have managed to make a can for 8 minutes one day and 5 minute another day. Then I wrote to the head of Tesco only to be put intouch one of there customer services advisers . who claims they sent out an engineer out to check their and everything was fine. After trying everything they suggested nothing is any better. the other night they managed to get intouch with me via my mobile . they said I could cancel my contract but they wanted £108 for the phone. I offered to return the phone to them they said no. The up shot is that I said I cant afford a lump sum of £108 and told them that i would be taking my complaint to the ombudsman . Any advise as to handle this I have tried everything and am left with a contract that does not deliver a signal so I cant use the phone
  8. Warning to all mobile phone users: avoid carphone warehouse like the plague, unless of course you enjoy receiving up to 5 phone calls a day from their cold-calling sales agents offering the so-called 'best ever mobile contracts' available ever! I was unfortunate enough to be on their mailing list (from a purchase several years ago) and have been trying to have my details removed from their systems for ten days now. I have received 3-5 calls daily, and on several occassions they actually were sneaky enough to make me think they were calling from T-mobile directly. If, like me, you despise cold-calling marketing tactics, may I suggest that you AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!
  9. Hello, just thought I would post this here. Ordered an iphone of Friday the 8th of feb. Approved within minutes and dispatched that night. Great, it sat at the brighton yodel dep over the weekend, no big deal, I can wait. Wake up to see my order is not on the van by 8am, maybe afternoon delivery? Nope. A member of staff at the Brighton depo had flagged my order saying that I didnt want it be delivered, I found out after phoning yodel customer services, 'ok' I said, i do want it to be delivered, they said they couldn't get through and had emailed. Day ends, nothing. Still not on the van on tuesday, only after phoning yodel customer relations (not customer services) do I see the status update to 'missing, contact sender', ok, so they lost the phone and it's down to me to call mobiles.co.uk? true enough, mobiles.co.uk had no report it was missing and it took an hour on the phone to get them to find this out and sent me a replacement. Ok, so this moring I wake to see a tracking number and that status of it being out for delivery, hmm, good i thought, they're getting the hang of this now. 5pm, no phone, no update, I call mobiles.co.uk who refuse to take any action because it's on the van. They tell me to wait till 9pm, which i do. No phone, no tracking update, still 'out for delivery'. So my next step has been to email the MD of mobiles.co.uk and the head office of Yodel to inform them/her that I'm starting legal proceedings for loss of earning totaling £400, also informed them that I will be informing the local police to report the theft of the phone. Also, told them evidence of correspondence had been taken and all further calls will be recorded. The last time I used yodel they were slow, but at least goods were delivered. Total farce I would like to add that all of the staff at mobiles.co.uk were very helpful, despite being about as effective as a 60ft tinfoil hat in a lightning storm, the staff at yodel, however, were particularly dull grapefruit like creatures.
  10. Recently sent back my xperia to VM as the screen was having issues, they called to say that they cant fix it under warrenty until damage they have found to the usb port is fixed. This will cost £150. This is the 2nd phone i have had to send back, issue before was the same. The USB port worked fine, and i havnt had any issues with it. I dont actually mind the usb port being damaged, but they are refusing to fix it under warrenty due to the USB damage. The contract actaully ends soon so i can upgrade, but that isnt really the point. What can i do? I cant pay £150 for a phone worth less than that. thanks
  11. Back in August 2012 I had an early upgrade via Vodafone from my old phone to my current S3. I wasn't due an upgrade at the time, and had another 2 months to go before I became eligible for one but due to ongoing issues with my phone and having thrown a hissy and threatening to quit when my contract came to an end in January this year they relented and gave me the S3 on a new tariff. The new tariff was applied and I got my phone. All was will until Friday when I lost all service. Thinking it might just have been a glitch on the network, I waited to see if it would resolve.. it didn't. On Saturday I went to my local Vodafone shop and explained that my phone wasn't working and that I couldn't send or receive texts, make or receive calls or access mobile data. The guy went through some diagnostics, swapping SIMs and trying my SIM in another phone before concluding that the issue was account-related. He pulled up my account and found that the only registered phone at my address was the phone I have for my wife, and that my number was no longer associated with the account. In fact, my number didn't exist and had been cancelled altogether! I got on the phone to Vodafone who told me I'd have reconnection within 24 hours. Well, those came and went, so i phoned again, to be told another 24-48 hours. I'm a bit pig sick of Vodafone now; I've had past problems with them and this is the final straw. I'm now wondering what my rights are as a consumer. I agreed at the time of the upgrade to a 2-year extension on my new tariff with Vodafone back in August, but it seems to me that my original cancellation request hasn't been removed and so has over-ridden the new contract, and I'm now without any contract at all. I also have a 6-month old S3. Would I be within my rights to tell them to shove the reconnection, give me a PAC code and take my business - and the phone - elsewhere without charge? Its my view that its their fault this cancellation has been processed, and as far as their records show, my contract expired as of the approximate date of expiry of my previous contract, and not my new one which appears to have vanished. My latest bill only shows a part-month's usage and charges for my phone also. Cheers for any help and advice.
  12. I have a mobile phone monthly contract with Talk Talk; I noticed a charge of £ 4.61 to an 0870 number which after a brief search turned out to be to Minicredit. Now I am a fairly sentient individual who does not go off in trances making phone calls, even if I have defaulted on a loan with them. The point is, there is a charge now for £ 4.61 made on 31 jan 2013 on my bill because I apparently rang this number and was on the phone for 13 minutes !!!! I beg to differ ! I was at work at the time and would remember if I had rang them yet alone go to all the trouble of finding it!!! Beware, they have ways - no I am not paranoid either!
  13. Hi all having a problem with T-Mobile contract phone and would like others thoughts. Story: T-Mobile contract paid on time every time through their web page once logged in, Kept getting charged for none direct debit which I have refused to pay as its a penalty. I did receive an email from T-Mobile support explaining how to pay to avoid the None DD charge and in the email it stated you could pay online through your account and not be charged the none DD. I had a few of these charges refunded to my account but T-Mobile were adamant that I had to pay them going as far as ringing me for £10.71 that was still owing on my account. Paid my bill on the 21st last month, only my bill mind, I still refused to pay the £2.50 + VAT for choosing how I pay my bill. 5 Days later my services are suspended so after checking the terms and conditions I find this nice little gem: clause 4.4.5.1 and clause 4.4.5.2 that states if you have a dispute over payments and contact them in writing to that fact explaining your dispute and how much you will be paying or not paying, t-mobile will not suspend services until your complaint is settled. Since I had done as the terms and conditions stated and I was so peed at T-Mobile for suspending my services I wrote to them explaining they had breached my contract by suspending my services and to send me my PAC code within 7 days. I did receive a letter back 2 days later from my recorded delivery breach letter saying that their last letter was final response on this matter and sent me their codes of practice. From my reading of OFCOM T-Mobile must send me my PAC code but I'm worried that they may refuse and the cost to have all my stationary and vehicles re-written with a new telephone number will cost in the 100's. Can I take legal action against T-Mobile if they refuse to give me my PAC code or allow my number to lapse. George
  14. Looking for some advice as I am not sure if what has happened is illegal... I have been contracted with Orange for over 2 years now and my latest contract expired in October 2012. Recently I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Orange Rewards team. They offered me an upgrade with an iphone 4, unlimited calls and texts and 1GB for 26 pounds per month. I explained that I wanted to keep my old number and was told that would not be a problem and to place the new sim card in the new phone and call 150 to transfer the old number . I accepted the offer. I had not received any confirmation email or documents but received the new phone last week. Tonight I activated the new phone with the new sim card and called 150. I spoke to a gentleman who explained that in fact Orange had NOT contacted me and that I had in fact been sold a NEW contract via a third party. He would not disclose who this third party was. I am astounded that any company is allowed to do this and that Orange has made arrangements with any third party to sell customers products under the guise that they as Orange representatives when they are in fact not. He has also informed me that it was NOT an upgrade and that a the new phone is now on my account as a new SECOND contract. I was told this was an upgrade so assumed that the contract was amended to bill me 26 pounds per month and that I didnt need to cancel anything as this was an automatic upgrade. I feel that i have been mis-informed about the upgrade/new contract and I would like an explanation and to have my account corrected. I am not prepared to pay for two contracts this month. I would like to know who has sold me this contract and why they claimed to be from orange when they were not. Does anyone have a similar experiences?
  15. Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me. I bought a Pay as you go (PAYG) mobile phone on the internet two days ago. I get the phone this morning with a letter stating they have activated the phone. The last time i bought a phone from this company they never did this. I was wondering why they have activated the phone? The phone was also purchased for a friend of mine. Letter http://i46.tinypic.com/ndsv20.jpg Does this mean the phone has been activated in my name and address? Also, would it been registered in my name and address? Thanks
  16. As far as I am aware if a ticket is not actually placed on your car the penalty is void as no law has been put in place in the case of "drive aways". If this is still the case where do we stand with mobile camera units? I was snapped by a smart car with cameras on its roof which just drove past without actually issuing a ticket. I had parked partially on the kerb on a single yellow around 9pm. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
  17. Hi guys, After reading neumerous threads on here about other people having similar problems to mine i could do with a bit of help and advice. In april 2011 Orange defaulted me for £25.10 which i did not know i owed due to them holding incorrect details. they have after 11 months of me trying to sort this out accepted that this default shouldnt have been registered against me admitted the errors that they have made and have emailed me this morning to say that the entire account will be removed tomorrow. now this isnt the first time they have said this so im not holding my breath! So heres where i am, if they dont remove it where do i go as after 11 months this is starting to wear thin! if they do remove it i expect to be compensated for the losses i have occured. I know i havent included much detail here but will update if anyone picks up on this. I would be greatful if anyone who has experience with cases like this could help, i recently read up on philhargs thread and the support he recieved was amazing. many thanks in advance dave

  19. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME:help::help: I have been a customer of Three mobile network for many years, I recently upgraded my contract early agreeing to pay a sum for early upgrade and a handset charge for a new iphone 4. I was sent a text to say the phone was coming between a certain time the next day. I was at work but expected a card to be put through the door if I was not in. On returning home the phone was not there and also no card! I rang Three straight away. This has been going on 3 weeks now, the courier DPD say that someone signed for the phone at my address but the signature is no one that I know. I hang spent so long on the phone to three and also the courier company trying to sort out what had happened, i also went to the police. Eventually after DPD,s customer service got the driver on the phone he admitted to them that he had not delivered the phone to anyone behind my front door but to someone coming out of my front gate!!! IF this is true and the driver has not stolen it himself, surely the courier company have not done their job properly. After many heated arguments with three they refuse to investigate further as, as far as their concerned the phone was signed for at my address even though it wasn't IN my address!!! I have been told by Three that I am responsible and I now have a huge bill for the handset the early upgrade AND a contract for another two years with them but no phone!!! Pleeeeeease somebody help me they just don't want to know. Surely it is a dispute between DPD and Three and not myself. I have tried everything just don't know what to do now???????????????????????????????
  20. About 4 months ago my Samsung S2 phone was stolen. This resulted in me having a £280 debt since the person who had taken my phone made various calls to Iraq and managed to spend this much money in a 14 hour period before my phone was blacklisted. This was extremely annoying since I am a student and don't possess a lot of money. However, I understand that I was liable to pay so have accepted it and moved on. However, two months on from then, T-mobile still haven't replaced my SIM card, despite me asking them too. Therefore I have paid for two months on my contract even though my phone hasn't been in use because T-mobile have been are so inefficient and still have not replaced my SIM card (also on top of this I have a been using a pay-as-you-go phone on O2 since I need a phone to use, which equals more money spent). As a result, yesterday I rang up again and after being on hold for 20 minutes, I spoke to an operator and asked strongly for some kind of compensation for the months I have paid for when my phone hasn't been in use due to their inefficiencies. In response to this the operator hung up on me! I am now so annoyed and fed up of T-mobile, so is this a breach of contract? because I am fed up of them and if possible want to cancel my contract, and at the very minimum receive some kind of compensation. Every time I ask to speak to a manager they refuse or hang up on me. Absolutely terrible customer service!
  21. Hi all, My mobile phone is out of warrany and was repaired in Septmeber. I paid for the repair, however the same fault has occurred again. I spoke to the repair company and was told the repair would be under guatantee, so I would not have to pay for it. The comapny are now saying the reapir was only guaranteed for 28 days, which has not elapsed. They have now said they have all calls recorded and will be checking back as to what was said, but the recorder was not working today (how convenient! - business speak for 'We need time to cover our backs while we see how we can get out of this!') I said that if a product is incorrectly priced in a shop, the shop has to sell it to me at the marked price, so in my case, if I have been given incorrect information, and that call is recorded, they should have to abide by the information they first gave. Am I right? Any advice/information would be appreciated. Thanks
  22. So essentially after years with T-Mobile and being unwantingly charged by them in the past, they finally charged me big time. £110.71 for going over my allowance by 4 hours 56 minutes apparently. Now I've never done that before, I've always been anal with my bills and phone calls, i rarely use my phone but apparently between the 27th November and the 15th December I used it a lot! I never received any warning about it, no phone call nor text. And the best part of this story is that I got the money back from them as it only went out today, so now I'm scared ****less of going to court! Isn't there a loophole with this? it was a sim only contract, I signed nothing to my knowledge! is there a way that if i do have to pay them, i can do it like £0.01p a month through direct debit? I mean a contract is a two way thing right, and i didn't even sign one! i rang them up earlier, they said i had to pay it back within 3 months, if i was to choose that option I'd still be paying the same amount for my contract but my allowances (minutes, texts, internet) would be reduced by 50%, is this legal? I asked if it was on their terms and conditions and they said no! it's only on their policy which the customer isn't allowed to see.
  23. Went to car phone warehouse today got a new phone on contract. Waited in shop while credit check was done took 25 minutes. Had to be sent off 3 times Firstly flagged up current account Second agent made typo in dob Thirdly to confirm length at address Credit check passed had the phone. Got home and not working phone T-Mobile who say I have to many lines I have 2 this was my 3rd and they refuse to connect phone to network yet I have a signed contract from car phone warehouse and a credit check reference. Car phone are demanding I return the phone. T-Mobile are refusing to connect And I have a phone which don't work but I have a legally binding contract. 24. Hi Guys, Just looking for a bit of advice with regards to this company. I (stupidly!!) have a loan with these guys. Currently 8 months into an 18 month agreement. I have a couple of questions.... How can I check if the BOS was registered correctly? I had a loan originally last year, and then made the mistake of topping it up. New BOS was done, but the only signatures are mine and the branch manager acting as a witness. I've been led to believe that this may make the BOS unenforceable as a separate witness needs to be present. Also, the repayments on the credit agreement do not match the figures on the BOS (Credit agreement says £101 per month, BOS says £99) Any advice would be much appreciated!! Thanks
  25. I went into three mobile shop and took out a 24 month contract 2 days ago on new ipad. Do I have any cooling off period, as I would like to return it, as I have relised I can not afford the monthly payments. And to avoid not being able to pay and having debt collectors on my case, i would like to cancel. Yes I know I should of thought about this before I took it out, and I expect the critism about this, and I deserve it, it was an impulse decision, which I now regret, yes am an idiot, there you go, I have said it, ,, now you dont have too, . any help and advice to get me out of this, would be very greatly appreciated. (sorry about spelling)
