  1. It's not a spare room as it's been let. I would imagine - just guessing - it says you'll lose whatever a week bedroom tax because you either have stated the room is still spare, which it wouldn't be, or that the benefit checker can't cope adequately with a lodger.
  2. I might be wrong, but I thought it was new claimants from April. Also, I'm presuming, it was a standard letter and PIP will pop up at some point in the distant future.
  3. Can't disagree there, antone. stu, fairy nuff if that's what their contract says. I'm 99% certain mine doesn't.
  4. Slightly disagree. The couple should be living there as they have every legal right to do so under the terms of their tenancy contract. People shouldn't be penalised because the contract they entered into years earlier is now deemed unfashionable. Why should they be forced to move from the home they have lived in for, quite often, decades? One of the main points of social housing was to offer security in renting.
  5. Just seen this - and just voted. It only takes a couple of seconds.
  6. Not sure if it's been posted elsewhere ... Labour pledge to reverse the bedroom tax
  7. I think you're more likely to find that logo used by either local government / councils for their vacancies or large national companies.
  8. Quite a few people appear to be being shuffled from IB straight to WRAG via the ESA50 only. If you feel you meet the criteria for the Support Group you will need to appeal.
  9. As others have said, m'dear, this is your anxiety talking. You don't appear to have anything to worry about.
  10. I suspect motability will direct you to call RSA. Indeed your link, Stu, suggests people contact RSA if they have queries regarding the eligibility of additional drivers.
  11. I'd be interested to know what they say. I'm fairly certain that it isn't a problem, but I'm not 100%. The motability agreement would be in your Mother's name anyway, so we're just talking about a named driver so RSA would be the first people to contact. Once my sister passes her test I'll be having her as my named driver and I'm under the impression this is not a problem. I'm also fairly sure I can give her basic driving lessons and RSA are ok with that. I was going to contact them shortly to confirm. One thing to bear in mind is that motability do have a rule regarding how far a named driver can live from the agreement holder. I think it is five miles. This isn't hard and fast as they will make exceptions. In my case my sister lives ten miles away but we are in a very rural area.
  12. Surely it's a positive thing that the Tribunal wish to gather further evidence from your GP?

It makes me realise how fortunate I am to be in the ESA Support Group. Which is a sad indictment on how it is to be unemployed today. How on earth you all cope with this awful system I'll never know. I salute all of you and, whilst it ain't much, wish you all the best.
  14. Nah, I'd only be frightened if the 98 year old asked for them back! Seriously though, you should get copies of your spirometry test(s) as these are good evidence. If you haven't already done so, most NHS areas offer a short course of Pulmonary Rehabilitation which is worth doing. It is also something else to put on the ESA50. One plus - if you can call it that - is that severe copd is progressive and, ergo, will only ever get worse. This means no matter what the atos / tribunal outcome you can keep putting in a fresh claim until they get it right. (EDIT: I am on Income Related ESA).
  15. COPD is quite a wide ranging term with an equally wide range of levels. Could you be a bit more precise? In my experience, for both ESA and DLA, it is helpful to give a more detailed description. I never bother saying I have COPD as most people don't understand it. Instead, I've always put the fuller diagnosis and level on the forms. In my case, I have Severe Chronic Bronchitis (Stage 3). See? That already sounds a lot more fun and people can relate to it better. Medical evidence supporting my diagnosis is very simple and involves spirometry test results which your GP can provide. I have several years worth which show a steady and marked decline in lung function. These allowed me to discuss my condition fully on the forms, in particular with what I can and can't do etc. Severe Chronic Bronchitis is my only ailment and I'm in the Support Group.
  16. Indeed. Most do seem to try to help as best they can. But it is a sort of 'one size fits all' system and you have to make the most of it. Don't give up, just keep plodding on and you'll get there. It took me three consecutive ESA claims, two failed assessments and two failed Tribunals to become an 'overnight success' and go straight into the Support Group for the maximum length. I can't thank the people on here enough for their support and kindness (you know who you are ) You have some supporting evidence, use it. And, where possible gather more. You can never have too much.
  17. If you are medically unfit for work then, I'm afraid, the only option is to hop back on the magic roundabout and do it all over again. You can make a fresh ESA claim provided it is over 6 months since you were originally notified that you had failed the ATOS assessment. You will need to provide (un)fit notes from your GP.
  18. Quite so. It's a favourite technique of some previous members ...
  19. So, bedofweeds, are you saying no-one is placed in the Support Group because they really can't work?
  20. I think you're being optimistic with the 'almost', osdset. The best I've known them do is contact the claimant by phone to see if any further evidence is available.
  21. Quite so, abc, they are two completely different beasties.
  22. You use all of them. You can add as many additional A4 pages as you so desire - you're not confined to just the spaces on the form. As long as you put your name and NI number on each page, try to reference which part of the form the info refers to and securely attach the lot to the ESA50.
  23. It is grossly unfair that pensioners are exempt. Clearly their vote is more important than a disabled persons vote.
