  1. I'm afraid I can't advise at all, googly, but just wanted to wish you all the best.
  2. I misread that as 'Aled Jones'. Still, it was nice to catch up with The Snowman.
  3. unclebulgaria, as you say, that's different. That's a genuine security issue and targeted specifically at finding a thief. I was involved in Retail Security some years ago and - if needs be - we did that sort of thing. Personally I think, from joeski's subsequent post, it's definitely a wind up.
  4. The question to ask, joeski, would be why? To kit out a room with hidden cameras and microphones isn't particularly cheap. Plus the cost of somebody to monitor them. Then replicate that throughout the WP scheme. Where would the gain be? From what I've read here about the providers of these schemes, then the only thing they're likely to capture is their own ineptitude. And who wants to risk that leaking onto Youtube? My vote is that it's a wind up ...
  5. Is that also continuously on HB since 1996, caro? (I can't remember). Either way it sadly doesn't apply to me although I've lived here since 1998, so close!
  6. It isn't 'fair for all on benefits' at all. Not by a long chalk. As I said, selective.
  7. Indeed, downmum. Keep all the information you have as it will form the basis of the next ESA50 - even if that's a couple of years away. I keep an updated file at home of all my medical correspondence and just add to it as additional evidence comes my way.
  8. A quick and simple call to the DWP will answer the question. They're very happy to tell you over the phone.
  9. Quite so, antone. Indeed, he must be a super man to know so much. And then chronicle it all for us. I wonder if he signs his epistles 'clerk, Kent'.
  10. Glad you got the matter resolved. Mind you, I'd now be wanting a word with the Housing Association ...
  11. Indeed. Flo. I do worry about that lass ...
  12. I'll start you off with the first one, tomtom, then you can go play with google for the rest. It's quite easy you know ... 'No evidence of culture of worklessness'
  13. Actually, we're just a little more tolerant of WUMs.
  14. I don't even have a tv. Which suits me fine as I live on my own and prefer to just watch catch-up tv as and when I'm so inclined. The £145 saving (no licence fee required) subsidises my broadband by about 70%.
  15. Crikey, mkb, would you kindly not come on here and spoil a perfectly irrational thread with your facts. Honestly! (Top post, btw).
  16. Well done. As said, it can take several weeks for back payments to be made. Actually, it can take several weeks before the DWP are made aware of the Tribunal result. Once it's been finalised, your friend should receive a letter confirming everything. What it won't do, is say how long he / she is in the Support Group for. As this can vary widely, I'd suggest a phone call to their BDC to confirm length,
  17. You need to do the most difficult thing possible under the circumstances - relax. Presumably, the DWP thinks there might have been an overpayment for some reason. That's the purpose of the interview, to go through your side of the story. They will also present theirs. Obviously, seek legal advice, but in the meantime gather together any documents you feel relevant regarding the work you did / are doing, the hours, the pay etc. Go through them and compare to any official guidelines regarding the benefit you received. Benefit Fraud sounds bad, but it isn't always intentional. Best wishes. Edit: Beaten by the ever eloquent antone.
  18. Indeed, estellyn. When I was able to advise on the Bailiff forum I quickly discovered that some of the larger companies were receiving thousands of template letters a month. You can imagine how quickly their effectiveness waned! Instead, I looked at peoples circumstances, how that applied to the relevant sections of the template and wrote about that instead. The relevant sections were covered without the need to cite this, that or the other. In the case of this OP, I would look at what regulation 29 entails, see how their circumstances dovetail with that and that is what they need to write about / have written by their GP. No need to quote the regulation as you've already covered it with personal experience.
  19. I think it comes down to the quality of your GP and your relationship with him / her. I've never been charged for a GP report. Others have been. I'm not surprised that tribunals etc may frown on what is clearly a template letter. Can you imagine how many they probably see?!
  20. Whilst I can't advise you with the specifics of your illness in mind, I can say don't give up, keep strong and carry on fighting for ESA if you are unfit for work. It took me 4 years, 3 ESA applications, 2 failed WCAs, and 2 failed Tribunals to then be put straight into the Support Group for three years on the strength of my last application alone. Each application contained copies of all the evidence of the previous one plus any further evidence that came my way. I also included print outs of information from online medical sites and anything I could find to underline my case. You can't send too much evidence as long as it's somehow relevant. It's up to the DWP Decision Maker to sort the wheat from the chaff.
  21. I thought it was a tenner too, caro. Wouldn't object to another £110 mind. EDIT: Curses! It was a typo.
  22. Have you spoken to your GP about this? Some surgeries offer hospital transport. Sometimes this is paid for (at a reduced rate) sometimes it is free. Likewise, have you spoken to the hospital about your dilemma? Out of interest, how much would a taxi cost each way?
