I am being forced to buy a used car !
afcwben replied to minus-millions's topic in General Motoring Issues
So you are saying a trader can bypass DSR if his normal dealings are face to face. Makes DSR pointless then -
not excactly correct, deposits become non refundable or non transferable if the T & C's specificallt state if or a contract states it. Airlines have it in their T & C's. If it wasnt mentioned in the contract or any T & C's then the OP can legitemately claim his deposit back less an agreed fee to recompense the seller for any demonstratable losses
-
The question of a material breach could be interesting in this case. As the OP bought a physically Brand new car is the expection to have zero defects too much to expect and any defect on a Brand new car could be considered to be material

The CSA cannot ask for your accounts signed by a registered accountant because that is not required by HMRC. If you personally earn over a certain amount or are a company director then you are required to complete a tax return, you could send a copy of this to the CSA. What your Ltd company does is of no interest to the CSA as it is classed as a seperate legal entity

Contact the dealer they will have to deal with it. There will be no cost to you under SOGA. The dealer may approach VW but that is down to them

Relocation money taken into csa calculations?
afcwben replied to BreadAndButter's topic in CSA Issues
ok, if you follow this link http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/guidance/relocation.htm#e this tells you what can be classed as not income for tax purposes, specifically this section, you may need to talk toi your payroll/HR department, I am not an expert on this but it seems possibly that this should not be classed as income. I have extracted below the section you shouold look at, maybe there is a tax expert who could shed better light on this Which expenses and benefits may qualify for exemption? Expenses and benefits that may qualify for exemption are travel and subsistence costs for your travel and accommodation, if you have to commute (daily, weekly, etc) temporarily to your new place of work (if you move to your new home after you move your job) or to your old place of work (if you move to your new home before you change jobs within an organisation)- 12 replies

I would have thought income is a regular amount paid to you. Is there a date when your relocation expenses come to a stop?- 12 replies
