This is what Rooster posted on my thread when Mum died. Well I now post it fo Rooster and his family ........

The Rose Still Grows Beyond The Wall

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,

Budded and blossomed in God's free light:

Watered and fed by morning dew,

Shedding its sweetness day and night.

As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,

Slowly rising to loftier height,

It came to a crevice in the wall,

Through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength

With never a thought of fear or pride,

It followed the light through the crevice length,

And unfolded itself on the other side.

The light, the dew, the broadening view

Were found the same as they were before.

And it lost itself in beauties new.

Breathing its fragrance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,

And make our courage faint or fall?

Nay, let us faith and hope receive,

The rose still grows beyond the wall.

Scattering fragrance far and wide,

Just as it did in days of yore.

Just as it did on the other side,

Just as it will forevermore.

Death is nothing at all

Death is nothing at all,

I have only slipped into the next room

I am I and you are you

Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by my old familiar name,

Speak to me in the easy way which you always used

Put no difference in your tone,

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,

Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.

It it the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,

Just around the corner.

All is well.

Rooster posted this on Charley's Angels thread when one of the Angels suffered a bereavement, it seems appropriate to post it in memory of him today.

Very sad. His words and opinions were always among the ones I valued most. He'll be missed.

Before you criticise another man you should first walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you criticise him, you'll be a mile away and he won't have any shoes on.

Don't get me confused with somebody knowledgeable by all those green blobs. I got most of them by making people laugh.

Epitaph on a Friend

An honest man here lies at rest,

The friend of man, the friend of truth,

The friend of age, and guide of youth:

Few hearts like his, with virtue warm'd,

Few heads with knowledge so inform'd;

If there's another world, he lives in bliss;

If there is none, he made the best of this.

Robert Burns

can we send anything to help with the funerallink3.gif arangements

Perhaps all these wonderful messages of condolence could be made into a simple softback book and given to Mrs Rooster.

There are some nice pictures and poems here too.

There are plenty of folk here that are good at graphics you only need to arrange them on to half a side of A4 then use A4 card to make a nice cover.

Im sure she will be very pleased with that and make a nice keepsake.

Finally if you succeed with your claim please consider a donation to consumer action group as those donations keep this site alive.

Just saw this awful news and am sat here tearing up.

Like so many many others Rooster helped me, not just with the dreary bank stuff but also when I had a down day when he would always try to buck me up. I know I was one of a huge group that he helped in the same way.

My condolences to his family, he really will be missed dreadfully.

How sad to find this thread. I'm always looking for inspiration on threads, Rooster always provided it. May you rest in peace young man and may your family know that you were loved and respected by many he never met, such is the world of cyber friends.

I will echo Andrew1's sentiments - Rooster provided us all with lots of inspiration at the times when we all needed it. R.I.P.

My deepest sympathy for family and freinds of Rooster, this is so very very sad, I was reading a poem and thought I would post it in memory of Rooster. A great loss to CAG, and even bigger to his family and nearest and dearest.

You can shed tears that he is gone,

Or you can smile because he lived,

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared,

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,

You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your

back,

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,

love and go on
