  1. Of course. Once I've banked the cheque, I will do just that. Regards and Merry Christmas to all. Fred
  2. I haven't been here for a while so I hope everyone is OK. I just got a cheque in the post for a bit more than 4 grand from Lloyds in respect of PPI on a credit card. Interesting thing is, it was statute barred and they sold the debt. I can't even remember who to now. Nice christmas present!
  3. Many thanks for the advice folks. I've been manically busy for the last 7-10 days so havn't had time to look more into this yet. I hope to do so at the weekend. Cheers. Fred
  4. My daughter bought a new flat, made by Barratt homes about 18 months ago. Last week she had a letter from some solicitors called FS Legal about a "Leasehold Action Group for your Development", essentially warning her of the potential problem of a ground rent clause which may make life difficult in the future. I have the agreement but can't work out if she has a problem or not. Does anyone know what to look for? who could point me in the right direction? Many thanks. Regards to all. Fred
  5. "I would hope that most people think about issues, rather than some daft millstone idea." Quite right. I will certainly be thinking about issues before I vote.
  6. I think that's the point. He should wait to see IF he wins the election. Because of this, he probably won't.
  7. Went shopping in Sainsbury's, 90% of my shopping went through the checkout, then they had a power cut. Had to unpack and reload everything on to a different checkout. Pain in the arse!
  8. In the great days of the British Empire, a new commanding officer was sent to a jungle outpost to relieve the retiring colonel. After welcoming his replacement and showing the usual courtesies (gin and tonic, cucumber sandwiches etc) that protocol decrees, the retiring colonel said, "You must meet my Adjutant, Captain Smithers, he’s my right-hand man, he's really the strength of this office. His talent is simply boundless." Smithers was summoned and introduced to the new CO, who was surprised to meet a humpbacked, one eyed, toothless, hairless, scabbed and pockmarked specimen of humanity,
  9. Cheers Sam, good luck with your fight with Lowell. Regards. Fred
  10. It was 4 altogether twoman. Lloyds TSB, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and MBNA. No enforceable agreements -saved me a fortune, but it's not something I'm particularly proud of on reflection. I'm still paying 3 accounts off and there were 2 others paid off years back, but it will all be sorted in about 6 months and it's not hurting me much. I'm glad it's pretty much over. Regards. Fred
  11. Update on this. This one had an enforceable agreement, so I've been paying it. I've got about another 4 months of payments, then I'll be clear of it.
  12. Update on this thread. I didn't pay them a penny and it's been statute barred for well over a year now. I still get the odd letter from Arrow Global, but they know it's stat. barred so I just ignore them. Fred
