  1. I have a £16k loan with first plus over 7 years. I can remeber saying to them i don't want PPI but they talked me into it by saying after 5 years i will get the ppi premium back if i dont use it. well the 5 years is up now so i contacted First plus who stated as i have defaulted some payments i am not entitled to it back. I was under the impression if i never used the ppi policy i would get it back. This was clearly not explained to me that if i defaulted payment i would lose the ppi refund. I believe i was forced into getting ppi in the first place as i did not need it, is it worth claiming or will i be just wasting my time
  2. I have recently obtained a copy of my credit file. The first page there is a registered secured second mortgage on a property I lived in over 6 years ago. I never owned this property and lived with my girlfriend at the time for about 18 months. I called first plus asking them why it is on my file and how I can have a secured second mortgage against a property I never owned. They have told me that they have a signed credit agreement and they the account is joint. I do not remember signing any credit agreement, and only signed a from to say that if the loan was defaulted I would move out.. Please could someone advise me on what I can do next. I have written to first plus and called them. Shall I take this to the ombudsman? What can I do to have this taken off my file? Thanks
  3. Perfect Home, Got a computer from them all the insurance cover the lot, little boy knocks it over and it smashes the screen, being a touch screen computer we could use it. so we contacted them told the what happened, the we if we got it to stre and paid £100 excess on insurance they would repair it for us . we wait and wait untill eventually my OH who is a software engineer contacts them who tell us that it couldnt be repaired they would just minus the amout still owed on it off our existing bill.(we have other items) we had effectively paid all that money for renting a computer for not even a year, we went in several times and contacted store manager, we said we wanted the product repaired and returning, we over heard staff say they werent going to because the repair would cst £600 and we only owed £700. after weeks out of work, due to intellectuall property being on boken comp and due nature of damge data retrieval ws not possible before returning. we have now got a new computer they apparently did s a discount n shorte. I dont see how e have benefited at all. we are back at square one. Ive read and read my contract agreement and they have follwed no procedure on there, the only its remotly like is repossession of goods because they are out an out refusing to return it.... .i want it back for the intllectual property on there if they refuse can i sue them, also can i sue them for loss of earning whilst computer ws in for repair and for distress during this time. what are my rights with the broken computer surly they cnt just terminate the contact with nothing for us, in that event we should have got a cash pay out and we shuld hve recieved letter notifying us of end of contract but we still have nothing. store manager refusing to speak to us
  4. Hi, Im new to this forum so looking for some guidance. Me and my partner took out a First Plus loan back in 2004 for £55000 at an APR of 10.5% over 300 months. We took out the optional Payment Protection Premium which came to £13469. We had been paying this off at monthly payments of £623. Due to other financial difficulties with my wifes redundancy etc..we defaulted over the years and trying to pay the installments ontime was difficult due to FP's variable interest rates, and the monthly installments kept going up to about 700 per month. We have received a letter from FP looking for a payment plan and they say that we now owe £79,500 which includes outstanding arrears and current interest rates. They are asking for £800-900 payments per month which I just cant afford, I am very worried now that they will call for an eviction notice. I was hoping that I might be able to claim back the PPI, reading some of the forums I have downloaded a PDF copy of SAR. I was thinking if I claim back some PPI on the loan it might decrease the amount I have to pay to a more acceptable level. If anyone can give me any guidance on this I would be eternally grateful. I feel as if im at a brick wall and really need help. I am in full time employment with a hard working wage to see my family through but getting sucked dry by these FP people. My loan is now in the hands of TLT Solicitors. Kind Regards Alan
  5. Hi I'm hoping you can help me please? I've been reading through various threads & have found it very useful but I need some guidance on my personal situation I currently have my main mortgage with a building society & a secured 2nd loan (£35k) with First Plus , taken out 5 odd years ago. I was made redundant in 2011 & claimed housing benefit for a period which contributed towards my payments. However I still got behind & about 18 months ago FP obtained a suspended possession order. I continued to make payments albeit in rather an ad hoc manner & by the beginning of 2013 I was up straight with it. By March/ April this year my partner & me decided to set up our own construction business so I could come off the benefit system & we could "better ourselves" financially! I had always had a reasonable communication line with my building society & wrote to them to advise of our change in circumstances & to say payments would continue but they would be a little sporadic i.e because of our self employed status & unconventional income stream. The BS were "ok" with this Because of the fact that FP contact had previously been via Eversheds I wrote to them with the same communication & asking for a status update on my account & they replied saying "their file was closed & no instructions held from their client to re-commence proceedings" . They said they would refer my letter to FP but when I heard nothing after about 3 weeks I wrote direct. FP replied saying my account was under review & that they would consider a repayment plan for the arrears. I wrote back with a proposal of paying half the arrears in one lump sum& half on top of my normal cms. Again no reply. The next letter I got was from Eversheds saying they had been instructed to enforce the order & were applying for an eviction date. The only way I could stop it was to pay full arrears straight away - which I couldn't do. So now I have a letter advising that a warrant of possession has been granted, to be enforced on 29th Oct!! I tried one last phone call to Eversheds today saying how desperate I am to avoid it going to the full process & mentioned again about the lump sum proposal. They said that they would now put that forward to FP to consider but couldn't guarantee anything. I am to complete an I&E & email them today with details. I've contacted CAB for advice & am waiting for a call back. Plus I've spoken to a company called "Revival Repossessions" who specialise in managing such cases through the court process for a fee (£300 approx) & they have said they would definitely be able to help me . I'm horribly confused & upset & don't know what to do now for the best. Other queries/points to mention - 1) no PPI 2) I raised a query earlier in year about the amount paid by me versus level of arrears but it wasn't properly answered 3) confusion around whether my loan is CCA regulated or not (& whether that matters). I was sent a CCA default notice back in March but in FP only other letter received in August they said my loan is not CCA regulated. 4) are FP allowed to ignore customer contact & not be obliged to send statements or letters ? They say they are not obliged to do so I need your help please - anything would be very gratefully received. Sorry if I've missed any info

  7. We seem to have a new firm of solicitors involved with PPC! Has anybody else receive a missive from the afore mentioned JMW Solicitors LLP? They are chasing a debt from Debt Recovery Plus, who are chasing a speculative invoice from UK Parking Controls. What is a 'reputable' firm of solicitors doing getting involved with a bunch of cowboys - I assume form their website they are bit since they are involved with PPC I have to doubt this statement ! Of course it could be someone using their name and not the real JMW Solicitors. I will wait and see what else they do as they are sending the usual threat'o'grams - the usual if you don't pay in 14 days may sell you granny, take you to court, add another £85 pounds made up of solicitors fees (£50) court claim fees (£35), get a CCJ against you and then have you hung drawn and quartered. (well maybe not a couple of these items but most of them anyway). The amusing thing is the last bit where they say 'Applying for an attachment of earnings .....' I would like to see them try, my employer is a Limited Company, and I am the manger, director and anything else relating to the company, and my wife is company secretary, so how can they attach my earnings if I don't want them to?
  8. Hi all, I could do with some advice on our secured loan with First Plus which is for £30 K (plus PPI of £8K ) taken out end of 2003. Firstly we are having no luck reclaiming the PPI, we have been trrying since 2007, FP claim we bought loan and PPI through broker Central Trust even though we were an existing FP customer at the time and got a call from who we thought to be FP offering a further advance on loan, we were deceived into thinking we were speaking to FP when we were not !! FP will accept no responsibility for PPI as sold through Central Trust ( even though they must have given them our info as they called us!) Central Trust were not regulated at the time so wont do anything, we still have an official complaint with fos which is now being fast tracked due to hardship but FOS have already told me it is very unlikely they can help as they have no jurisdiction !! Shortly after taking out the loan I became ill which then got worse and I am now disabled and my husband is my fulltime carer, we have 3 kids and our house has been specially adapted for my disabilities hence why we really need to stay here. We also have a main mortgage with Barclays which is up to date. Over the last few years we have awful problems meeting the monthly payments and the account was passed to and fro different debt collectors who just kept on telling us to make reduced payments etc and in the meantime we heard nothing from FP, no statements or letters about arrears or how we would pay them back etc. 2 years ago we started getting some help with mortgage interest from DWP so we have since been paying our full monthly payments plus some off arrears and again heard nothing from FP to say this wasnt acceptable . In June this year completely out of the blue we got a default notice from them demanding we pay them back the arrears of £8000 etc, I called them and for once spoke to a very nice lady who set up a proper arrangement to pay our monthly contractual amount plus £130 per month off the arrears, this would clear the amount in approx 2 years, they would not consider spreading it over alonger period !! we are now paying more for this loan than we are our main mortgage for over £100k !! We have been paying it as arranged but we had a hiccup last month as we have absolutely no savings or credit cards etc and needed to buy kids school uniform for them to be allowed back to school I called FP spoke to a lady who said thats fine as long as you pay by end of week you wont break arrangement (they claim she said to pay by the 5/7 which was a thursday but I am sure we agreed end of week and I paid on 7/7) the account is now up to date until end of this month. To our shock we then got a default notice dated the 9/9, thinking it was a mistake I called them straight away, really horrible woman said it was correct we had broken agreement and there was nothing she could do and that our account had been sent to Eversheds, their solicitors who would be seeking a suspended possession order, she refused to put me through to manager or even the complaints dept I have raised an official complaint on the grounds that it is very unfair of them to do this to us when we had notified them, they agreed and we paid when arrnaged, so far I havent heard back from them. I am beside myself with worry and my health is being really affected by it, not only does it seem that due to the fact we were lied to by FP and contacted by an unregulated broker we are stuck with the useless PPI and all the interest charged upon it, but now they seem hellbent on repossessing our home! We have infact paid them over £1800 off arrears since June as we also gave them a lump sum of £1500 we borrowed from a family member, arrears are apparently £6400, there is no way we can raise that kind of money but can happily continue the current arrangement, what do you think the chances are of a judge granting them a suspended possession order when we are not saying we cant or wont pay, I wouldnt care if we just didnt bother too ask them if it was ok but we did !!! Any help very gratefully received, thanks so much everyone
  9. Hi everyone, So in October 2003 I obtain a loan from First Plus. I used loans.co.uk as a broker and applied - they suggested First Plus as my best option and I obtained a loan for £42,000 over 10 years to consolidate a massive pile of smaller short term loans that were crippling me. (Yeah I know I should have done different things now but here we are, bear with the story if you can). At the time they mentioned PPI to me. I told them I havd critical illness cover and income protection cover but they said at the time that I would probabyl get the best chance of a good rate if I opted for the PPI. I said ok. I received the papers and signed up, though at the time I never even noticed that when the papers came through, they had a pre-ticked box telling me that I had selected PPI. I mention this as it was not drawn to my attention and un-ticking a printed box is quite hard to do anyway... That is besides the point, at the time I did't notice and just got on with it. It added over £14,700 to my loan and was cover for 5 years at the end of which I would receive a lump sum of the whole amount back less a small admin fee. The only way I would not get the money was if I was in arrears or so I thought. About 40 or 45 days later I called First Plus and asked them about cancellation of the PPI as it seemed like a lot of money and I really wanted to keep my payments as low as possible. I was told I would only get about £300 and the amount would remain part of my debt. So I declined to end it and thought, "look forward to getting the cheque back". Swing forward to October 2008. My 5 years is up. I can claim for the refund. So I do and get rejected. Even to this day I still do not have a full reason given to me why I was rejected though I suspect it is because I was late paying a couple of times, even though I was fully up to date at the point at which I claimed So now as you can imagine, i'm quite upset and complain to First Plus and get told to go to loans.co.uk, I go to loans.co.uk and now get told that I agreed to all this and I should go away. I write to the FOS and send everything off, they send it back because I haven't had a 'final' answer from loans.co.uk or First Plus. I then chase for a final answer and resubmit to the FOS who say they never received my papers so I send it all again. During this time they state they have no jurisdiction over the case because of when it was sold to me and that they will try to establish if the insurer is worth pursuing. This is the first point at which I find that I had an agreement with a thrid party insurer. I only ever signed an agreement with loans.co.uk and First Plus. Finally the FOS start to look at it and time goes by... bascially, they have just (last month) contacted me to say that they cannot uphold any complaint against anyone. I have asked for a review of matters with the FOS and for the case to go to an Ombudsman (quite why it hadn't already is beyond me). The bottom line is that I was sold insurance I plainly didn't need, that was front loaded to the loan, that was for only part of the term of the loan and that after re-reading the terms of the PPI, it would not have paid out anyway for any circumstance that could have befallen me. It was basically, no insurance at all and did not provide a cover appropriate to my needs. Secondary to this is that I was lied to upfront about why I needed the PPI (to get the best lender's rate). Finally, I had no idea I had made an arrangement with another party (the insurers) and if I had known I would have approached them myself for mroe information about rejection etc. Basically loans.co.uk and First Plus have played a blinder in deceiving me about everything and the FOS say there is nothing at all that can be done. Since I was rejected, I had a couple of more months where it was difficult to pay so I asked if they could extend the term and they have do but the whole debt has been re-factored and now it looks like if I pay the full amount, I will end up paying back something over £260,000 to have borrowed £42,000. I've calculated that even at the higest interest rate, if you take off the amount of overpayment made by paying each month for PPI, I've already repaid the loan. The rate just keeps going up and up and it's now at 15.9% (actually i'm sure it just went up again). What else can I do? Who else can help? In the time between the first sending of information to the FOS and now I have lost my copy of the loan agreement - it's probably me that's in the wrong there. But First Plus were unable to provide the FOS with any paperwork showing I had signed up to a loan. I'm about to send First Plus a subject access request to get all records from them. Hopefully this will help me sort out what atual agreement I have with them. I've followed what was apaprently good advice to manage my finances better but i've been left high and dry. Does anyone have any advice? I shall now be spending the rest of the weekend reading this forum to find out anything else I might need to know. Thanks for reading this far. If you have further advice then let me know. I woudl love to hear from others who have delat with First Plus and can give me any inside track. Rob.
  10. Hi, i have received an email this morning telling me plusnet are increasing my broadband by £1.50 per month, obviously this is alot and is mid term of my contract with them, my questions are can they do this as i dont have any paper work to see terms and what legal rights do i have to cancel without paying a cancellation fee. Any advice on the matter will be great. Many Thanks Tim
  11. Hi Everyone, I've recently began my claim after reading a lot of stuff on here, on an old HFC Personal Loan Plus account that ran from 2001. to 2007. So far I have done a Subject Access Request and got a list of transactions and a copy of the credit agreement from HFC. At the moment I'm stuck with the spreadsheets to work out the interest I can claim. Do I use the Compound Interest calculator to work out the 28.9% APR for each monthly PPI fee for the time the loan ran which is MAR 2001 to FEB 2007. Then Statutory Interest of 8% added to each payment from the date added to present day? This is all a bit confusing.
  12. A colleague received one of Parking Eye's charge letters - he overstayed by some 20 minutes in a free car park which serves a supermarket and several other shops (they just didn't finish their shopping in time) . I gave him the letter suggested on CAG particularly asking how the charge was calculated - affixed is their explanation ! Unless I'm missing something - I cannot understand how staying longer in a car park that is free anyway - has cost the landowner any money ?????
  13. Dear all I've recently received my second letter from Debt Recovery Plus demanding payment of a Parking Charge notice, and threatening 'notice of intended court action'. I'm aware that a lot of this is hot air but that some people have been taken to small claims courts. My issue is that I was parked in my own car park (private) of where I live (though I do not have a permit as it's a second car and we're only allowed 1 permit - I usually park on a road around the corner), outside of the marked bays as I had taken my shopping inside after unloading it. The minster baywatch charge initially is 85 pounds, but if you forget about the charge as I did, they then send you a demand for £140 without any reminder!! In my view this is excessively steep, and am I right in thinking that they can only claim 'reasonable' compensation for their losses according to law?? (even though i'm not sure what their loss would be in this instance!) Therefore if they did take this to court, would they stand any chance of winning, and could I defend it by saying the charge is completely unreasonable?? What do people think?
  14. Hi all! I have 6 months left to run on my First Plus secured loan. I am in the process of selling my house and don't want to take the loan with me - I want shot of it and First Plus for good. I have been paying the loan for the past 7 years, claimed back the ppi etc. I was just wondering what the final settlement may be? My credit file shows £800 remaing on the loan. I have wrote to them, but when phoneing to chase them this morning, I got told to be patient!!! Many thanks, Bannister007:roll:
  15. First Plus, argh, so awful to deal with. So another possible complaint about them. My partner has a large outstanding loan with First Plus, nearly £30K, and together we have decided to get it cleared faster than the 13 years left on the loan. Part of this involves selling a property to release the equity to pay off the loan. All good so far, we have the settlement statement from First Plus (and have also successfully have nearly £6K of PPI fees removed from the balance). My plan was to pay the loan off on my 0% credit card for 6 months while we sell the property - I phoned to do this and was told any credit card needed to be in the name of the person named on the loan, eg my parter. Feeling rather annoyed, but fair enough, I got an authorised card in his name sorted, with enough credit limit to cler the loan. he calls up to pay the loan with the card, now only to be told that company policy is to not accept Barclaycard credit cards (which it is). Arrghh!! So very annoyed as it has taken a lot of time to get the card with the 0% on purchases agreed and the credit limit raised. It really feels like First Plus are just making it as difficult as possible to pay this and every time we call to pay (move the debt) it there is a new reason why we cannot. I know it is only 6 months interest we will save, but it feels like something we should be able to do to be in control of our own debt, not locked into the First Plus contract anymore. Any thoughts? Can they really restrict the use of a Barclaycard Visa like this? Speaking to the perosn on the phone at First Plus they were going on about it being moving the debt and that on the BArclaycard statement it would say that you cannot use th barclaycard to pay subisdiarys of Barclays - but I don't get a paper statement and having looked at my online statement and searching the Barclaycard info I can find no refernece to such a condition of the card. Is it worth fighting/complaining on this one or should we just leave it and clear the debt when the property is sold? (loan is currently 9% variable). Feel very cross!
  16. Hello, Just after some advice really on how to go about cancelling the cover plus on my perfect home items, along with their insurance. I did not have home insurance at the time of signing my agreement but I do now, am I therefore able to cancel Perfect Home's? I have searched for a letter template but am unable to find one if anybody could please point me in the right direction? Best wishes and Thank you Dp x
  17. hi new to forums have read many other peoples unfortunate dealings with firstplus and feel my repossession case might be of interest. I took out a loan with first plus in 2006 and straight away was frustrated with the increase in interest that made my monthly payment difficult, it rose from 9.4% to 11.3 % in four different changes. when changes were made they referred to the finance house base rate. I did receive a decrease in march 2009 to 10.2% but as I was in arrears at that time my payments would remain the same to clear the arrears. recently I was injured at work and had to live on half basic pay but continued to pay firstplus until December , I contacted them to reduce payments was asked to fill an I&E form which I did. the next contact came from eversheds who were asking for my arrears to be cleared , I informed them I could clear them with a back payment from work in april. this was put to firstplus in march, the next letter received was a court date in april for repossession. Eversheds when contacted said they would ask for a suspended possession order in view of my proposal, this angered myself as fees would be added to my account so I refused and told them I would see them in court. a complaint to fos resulted in firstplus contacting me and offering the court fee refund to resolve this. the court papers arrived followed by witness statements from eversheds so I dug out my file of correspondence from firstplus to start compiling my argument about their lack of customer care. the letter from 2009 which confirmed a decrease had not mentioned my new monthly payment at 10.2% contacted firstplus to request this but was shocked when given the same figure that was my overpayment to clear my arrears. on inspection of the court papers which showed my payments/arrears it became apparent that firstplus had not reduced my payments to clear the arrears back in 2009. the figure given to the courts was way above what I actually owed. when questioned again about this and to find out what my monthly payment was firstplus responded with a figure some 35 pounds lower than what they had been requesting each month. I asked for this in writing and wanted to know what was to happen with the court date in april but was advised I would receive a response within 48hrs. the court date is in two days time still no news from firstplus . eversheds when questioned are still waiting a response from their client. I have worked out with the new figure given unofficially, that when court proceedings started my arrears were only 56 pounds. a complaint about my case is being sent to the office of fair trading. interested in any views people may have . thanks for reading
  18. In 2008 My son tried to get PPI fees back from First Plus as he was sure that the Insurance had been mis-sold to him. He sent off an SAR and after delays was sent "screen dumps" and a tape that appeared to be edited.(clicks etc). His claim was refused and in an attempt to force First Plus to take him seriously he suspended his payments to them. Ultimately they used Evershed solicitors (based in their Head Office) to take him to Court to obtain a Repossession Order. I had obtained advice from members of CAG at the time and made him aware of their advice on this matter. Following a hearing in Court the end result was that the judge ordered him to pay off the arrears and to continue to pay off the loan/PPI. No judgement was recorded in the Court ( I have checked recently) but he decided to obey the judges' instructions to avoid losing his home. I paid off approx. £8k of arrears and started to pay his monthly instalments from May 2009 but was forced to stop payments in March 2012. Subsequently, First Plus have not contacted him until January 2013 when an unsolicited letter came asking him to submit a claim if he felt that PPI had been sold to him incorrectly. I intend to assist him to put a claim in but feel I need to request assistance from CAG members so that we do not do anything that might allow First Plus to wriggle out of repaying him. First Plus also registered a "Default" on my sons' Equifax file in 2008 when he suspended payments but have not bothered to record the fact that the Default/ Arrears have been paid nor is their any record of the payments to them from May 2009 to March 2012. Thus the last entry on his credit file looks to be that he had defaulted on his loan and that the £35k I have paid on his behalf goes totally unrecorded. Is this legal or just another example of the "dirty tricks" practiced by First Plus? Any help or comments would be appreciated. Taiko
  19. I am due to start my hearing, in a few days. I was assaulted by my employers and have had months of intimidation and have found out my witnesses are being threatened too. The police are investigating. I think I now have definitive proof of ex employer's lies, plus proof of extreme criminal intimidation. My question is... do I tell the ET this now? Do I wait until I'm in Court next week? And also, what is likely to happen? What penalties can my ex employer face? Also, last night, I was phoned by their solicitor, saying, basically, if I continued, not only would I have to pay costs, but they'll get to see all my medical records. I actually felt like that was another threat. In what circumstances can they have complete access to medical records? (This is separate post from a previous question I asked months ago and would like it kept separate please.)
  20. Hi. Has anyone had any experience of reclaiming ppi through Firstplus. I have recieved the acceptance forms and posted them back with the reassurance they will pay within 28 days by cheques. Is this the case or am I in for the long haul.x
  21. My main mortgage is with C&G and I am now up to date with no arrears. My 2nd mortgage is with First Plus with a balance of £9k and arrears of £1981.00. I have tried to put payment plans in place with FP but they have not helped me at all. They have now served me with a default notice and still wont help me apart from telling me if I dont pay in full or the arrears in 14 days it will go to Eversheds. Will my property be repossed? Will eversheds help me with a payment plan. I was out of work for 6 months and am now back working. all other creditors have been helpful apart from FP. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  22. Hi Am hoping someone can help me. Ive just been served with an eviction notice for my home from First Plus. The took my to court last september for eviction but suspended it as we cam to an agreement. I broke the agreement with them as was not working and have since started work again and made a payment this month. But today I was handed an eviction notice for the 28/3/2013. I have been in contact with eversheds to explain and made them a new offer on what I can afford but still waiting to hear back from them. Should I fill in an N244 form or wait to hear from them.
  23. Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the forum and hope to find the knowledge to help me work out the best way forward. I have a secured loan from First Plus which was taken out to consolidate debt at a point when I was pretty low and not thinking properly. I cannot remember exactly what was said to me at the time of taking the loan out but I was told it was worth paying PPI because I would get all my contributions towards that paid back in the form of cash back after 5 years. I've seen a few threads mentioning SAR but I'm not sure what that is. I did get cash back but I have seen a few people talking about claiming for a refund of their PPI so I am wondering if this is something I should be considering. I also have issues with the huge settlement figure provided to me this week - after 9 years I still owe more than I borrowed.....from a quick browse that seems to be normal but surely it is not ethical? Is there a section of the forum where I can raise that issue separately rather than going totally off topic in here?
  24. My brother has been really having a hard time in his local job centre. They are nothing more than dictatorial obnoxious &%$"*. I make that statement as i have proof by way of covert recordings made through a ball point pen with an AV attachment that i lent him. These people really do think they are god in breaching a multitude of primary legislation either through ignorance, or performance management techniques. Over the last eight weeks, he has made numerous attempts to request an appointment with a department manager over his treatment at the hands of the benefit staff, all requests were declined. Based on the evidence collated, i hit the computer and typed up an official complaint as to the departments own complaints procedure. when he went into the employment office today, he handed the letter over to the lady on reception and waited to be called to have his monthly interview. During the interview, the office manager came over and said that the compalint will be discussed when his interview had finished. This interview with the department manager was supposed to be the first tier in the departments complaints resolution procedure. This manager was more interested in protecting and standing up for his department staff rather than dealing with the issues of the complaint, and constantly brow beats my brother with the tone and posture of this manager. The upshot was that he has requested a typed up response as to the content of the meeting. ( the manager was shocked at that request) The manager has stated that statement (minutes) will be ready when he next signs on. well they are given 15 days on the compalints resolution first stage. If he is not satisfied with that response then the complaint wil be elevated to tier two, Director General of Operations for theDepartment for Work and Pensions. The point i am making in all of this is how did we become as a society so numb where this policy is accepted as the norm. It would be wrong for me to blame all benefit staff as most are probably hard working and compassionate, but the front line staff on these videos is the clearest indication yet of an endemic process driven by policy and/or performance management techniques.
  25. Forgive me if this is the wrong place? I took a loan out through Loans. UK with |First plus When I fell ill several years ago I contacted First Plus and ask them if I had PPI and was told no. I nearly lost my home but managed to get back to work, First Plus put the arrears onto the loan with the result I pay twice the amount and owe more then I borrowed. Under the PPI I sent in forms to First Plus and low and behold I have the agreement (which I never have seen before) and it tells me when I took the loan out nearly seven thousand pounds was added to the loah, not only was interest added to this it took the amount borrowed . |First plus sent me back copies of all the forms telling me to contact Loans.co.uk I did and the result was a payment of over ten thousand pounds. But I am still paying of the full loan, should not the seven thousand come of the loan now with First Plus as the first added?
