The bailiff: A 12th Century solution re-branded as Enforcement Agents for the 21st Century to seize and sell debtors goods as before Oh so Dickensian!

No I think I’ve declared everything. Maybe Dodgeball at thread #16 above hit it on the head and it’s been transferred up without a CCJ because it’s over £600?

Is there anything I can do to delay “the visit”? Can they turn up if I haven’t received the writ and the notice of enforcement? Should I ring and ask them to hold the bailiffs until I’ve received these plus I don’t even have a breakdown of the debt?

Do you believe this is genuine enforcement action and not a scare tactic to get me to pay?

Sorry for all the questions, just really panicking right now and it’s not helping my illness .

The vehicles belong to me and my husband so we do own them but I need mine to get around (I’m disabled but awaiting a Blue Badge) and my husbands is for his business which he can’t run if he doesn’t have it.

What can we do to stop them from being clamped?

Given that you have provided the name of the enforcement company AND provided a copy of their letter, your above comment is not a wise one to make on a public forum I'm afraid.

As the debt is in your name, any items belonging to your husband should be exempt.

I have not provided my name or address or even which part of the UK I am from. I’ve not given any details of the vehicles either or their value. Are you a bailiff trying to scare me? If so, please leave my thread.

Contrary to popular belief, there are not that many Writs of Control issued each year to High Court Enforcement Agents. Of the 4.3 million debts enforced last year, only 106,000 of them relate to Writs of Control.

Post #64 by brassnecked is your answer...this is a costs only award...there is no CCJ. What costs were awarded to the claimant and how do you intend to repay them ?

Well this is the thing I am mad about, Andy, that the claimant didn’t even arrange repayment with me and went straight to enforcement. I could have paid in instalments but obviously they prefer blood.
