Apauled about the very sad story about the death of the pensioners......it's on the radio and the agencies that should have acted are making their pathetic excuses as always. Disgusting.

Having watched Fiona Phillips documentary about Alzheimer's last night - I'm so sad & ashamed at the lack of good social care for us & our loved ones - seems so at odds with the original NHS ethics, it disappoints & astounds me that this is now happening amongst our once strong communities. Subsequent Governments have erroded a basic human instinct 'to care about each other' at the expense of the money market & the 'Gordon Gecko' mantra that 'greed is good' - I believe in Karma, that what goes around comes around - but that doesn't help 'Little Britain' - we all need to take more responsability but where to start? CAG is a great forum, but we are a drop in the ocean of modern times...

enough of my 'rant' but just maybe a 'hello' to a neighbour would be a fine start..or clear a snowy & icy path...

GRRRRRRR! Our snow was going but we had blizzards last night :(

Just had to walk in to town to get my prescription and only the main road is sort of clear. The pavements are like glass and I nearly slipped a few times endangering my supply of wine :eek:

Had to take painkillers as leg was screaming like a bitch when I got back.

Noooooo, bet the air was blue BB :D Happy New Year chick x

And now my two pennethworth..

We live at the top of a very steep hill and as you can imagine, it's been a nightmare trying to get down an ungritted hill to get to the main road for the last few weeks. After slipping and sliding all the way down the hill this morning and then taking a sharp, right hand bend (at about 10mph I might add), the car slid on the ice and I totally lost control, it all happened so quick that I just sat there waiting for the bang! I could see the hedge coming towards me and the lamppost next to it and just waited for the car to come to a standstill as I was so convinced I was going to prang it!! I slid up the kerb and stopped an inch from the lamppost :eek:

And yes, it did make me want to swear and yes, I did swear :D

Adrenaline is a strange thing. I sat there and shook for a good five minutes afterwards :rolleyes: Got to work on time though :p

Made me sad too watching the same documentary and have seen the truth behind how the elderly are treated for myself.

I've cleared several paths and run non-stop errands for the last week or so. I don't need payment, just a thanks suffices.

My only rant is that 4x4s' have been a target of hate but now they are proving their worth and are in demand to help out. I've saved people a few quid on recovery and got them going again, delivered meals and given people lifts but when my road tax is due all that will be forgotten about.

Managed to get to my pre-op on Tuesday and got back home safely, even though it took two hours through the blizzards over Bodmin Moor, and I am due to get my chest zipper on Tuesday 19th. My only fear is that they say I will be away with the fairies for about 48 hours and I just know that I will be dreaming about Link and CrapOne. (Yikes! more morphine Nurse!!!) After that it's 8 weeks for the chestbone to heal before I can drive again and poor old OH has to do everything for me. Hopefully all will be OK after all this. Catch you later

Friend of Damiens Hu :rolleyes::p:D

Sort of, Ben prefers inanimate objects though and is a total brat. If I won't give him what he wants he chews wire. So far he's chewed through cable on: 4 mobile phone chargers, 1 lamp, 3 cordless phones and the TV (but I was at work when he did the TV so it was switched off at socket luckily). Lappy cable got teethmark in it but he hasn't gone right through it yet..... :Cry: I have to put liquid soap on all wire in house to try and put him off.

Breeder told me he was a handful - she wasn't kidding. :roll:

Damien just attacks you - he's practising his stalking and pouncing skills, he's pretending you're a mouse :)
