Overkill or what! The amount of signs now compared to when google went by is a vast difference. Even if you went in, read all the terms and conditions then left, this would take a lot longer than the 10 minute grace period.

 

None of this applies to you as you did pay. The fact that they put on the signs and the machines 'input your full, correct, registration number' also means nothing as that term is unfair as it wasn't individually negotiated.

 

The company made no loss whatsoever so penalising you for a simple error would not be enough for a judge to give the company a win.

 

Carry on ignoring unless court papers turn up

the real contract is what is written on the machine and that is very little.

No mention of penalties or anything else.

 

The rest of the signs are in my opinion, not contracts

but "invitations to treat"

and as they differ from sign to sign

would be confusing as to what is being offered

 

the clarity of the signage on the machine is the final arbiter.

 

You accept these terms when you put your money in, not the others.

I was just about to attempt to upload my POPLA appeal when I received a letter from my local MP and Smart Parking.

 

Smart Parking "can confirm that on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill we have cancelled the PCN."

Yay!!!

I am so relieved to put this behind me and get back concentrating on the good things in life.

I hate those words. Lots of companies use 'Gesture of Good Will' to cover up the fact that what they are doing was wrong in the first place and when an MP writes to them, they want to be seen to be co-operative and fair so that the MP gets a good feeling and the parking company takes a very minor hit.

 

When it comes to members of the public however.....

Congratulations! It's great to hear someone has had some success!

 

I was wondering if you knew how the registration number is displayed on the parking ticket that you get from the machine & display in your window ? (Full Reg, Partial, etc)

 

My mum initially received a letter,for the same car park, stating she didn't pay enough & when we sent the evidence in they now claim she didn't enter her registration number correctly but haven't given us evidence. Her ticket only displays the last 3 digits & I wondered if that was correct or if it should show the full registration.

 

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
