Yes apparently there are only 20 people who offer advice on here, and he does not like it that we question the tactics of that well meaning, self regulated, upstanding industry of the Debt Collector - you know the ones, the debt collection firms, who listens and offer advice, and is sympathetic to people money problems - funny but I cant name any at the moment - LMFAO

Its actually an old thread, which has been re-opened by Peter Bardsley-not the first time he has voiced concerns over the CAG,and no doubt wont be the last.

Strange how he never raised these questions when he was an active member here though.

This is indeed dreadful news overall for the poor, long suffering debt purchasers / DCA industry! :-D

Imagine a scenario developing where more and more individuals actually begin to question the actions of a bunch of lying, duplicitous, so called self regulating  illiterate bunch of threat monkeys! Too awful to contemplate I assume for the likes of Credit today.

Wow these two cretins really have a problem with honest hard working people standing up for themselves don't they?? Think they need to mind their own business and let sites like this get on with helping people. I've used this site many times and have even posted asking for advice and it has been so helpful!!

So thank you to those people that have replied helping me or I would be stuck paying ****** dca's money I didn't bloody owe them!!

I know of a couple of cases where people have had CCJs issued but they have NOT followed the advice given on this site and have given up, if people have lost their homes through this site again I am not aware of the direct actions we have done to cause this...

Somewhere along the lines their collective brain cells have become addled....

James Carpenter seems to be making the same point over again that CAG should be regulated. Someone should ask him how he thinks that could ever happen exactly?

It is a public internet forum that people are free to post on if they so wish. The internet has millions of forums all over it similar to this one for every topic you can think of.

In order for that to happen the internet as a whole would have to be regulated and i am not sure how that is practically possible given that the government and the courts currently cannot stop people breaking super injunctions on it.

The day the internet is ever regulated something else will take its place. People have always rebelled against authority and the government in one way or another. So if Mr Carpenter ever saw his wish come true then he would simply have the same problem elsewhere.

Rather than him blaming forums like this he needs to spend his time investigating why his industry drives people to seek out advice from sites like this. He mentions the CAB and CCCS but in my view they are not fit for purpose and just tell the person what the industry wants them to know.

Out of desperation they then turn to seek out other forms of advice and end up on internet forums like this.

So if you are reading this Mr Carpenter get your own house in order first thank you.

Yes, those in glass houses springs to mind, still they obviously feel threatened by CAG to continue raising the issue..

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

He he he , IMHO They obviously KNOW this site is showing DCA's for what they truly are. **** who prey on the less fortunate and less knowledgeable.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE. It is not, as far as I am aware, against the law to seek out information to empower yourself with information.

Next they'll want all the CAB's to be closed too!!!!

Numpties

Hi

If DCA's did not lie and bully us and acted with some degree of compassion then people would not be on here!!

There is a need which is why the CAG is a success, l think anybody looking for advice should take it as that and not as gospel, we are adults and we can make up our own minds.

I can see the argument for both sides and both sides have valid pints - but quite clearly sites like CAG that provide resources to normal people are a valuable tool.

I agree with the above poster though, all advice should be taken as coming from an amateur and not relied upon without extensive research by the end user. It is interesting that they talk about regulation - are they talking about having a consumer credit licence for advising on debt issues?

So who is James Carpenter?

:tape2:

He was an active member on here some time ago..... and didn't seem to have any qualms about CAG during the days when he used the site to see a large number of DCAs off into the sunset back then.

Strange how short some people's memories can be when it suits.... but his present motives are a mystery to me, so I can only hypothesise about his reasons for holding hands with his new friends over the road these days....

I do know his username but it's probably not appropriate to publish it on the open forums.

Without the CAG I'd be in a dire situation financially.

I can think of several companies who would want the forum "regulated" to ensure sound advice couldn't be given. They don't like people to know their rights.

Once upon a time, several of the older members came onto CAG to find out about those rights and help others to fight against bank/DCA injustice. Somewhere along that journey.... they seem to have forgotten where they came from.
