I hope I've posted in right place. Apologies if not. 6 weeks ago someone who lived with me moved out with no notice or forwarding address given.

The phone number I have is either switched off or for some reason I'm blocked. I have been receiving post for them and re posting moved away. What I think are debt collectors are still writing to this address.

The latest letter was obviously more pages than normal. I'm concerned they may visit here and or not believe the person has moved in these circumstances.

Have you removed the previous house member from the Council Tax?

If not do so and get a copy of the new statement and keep it by the front door.

If anyone knocks, say nothing other than 'they don't live here' and give them a copy of the Council Tax bill showing the only adult members of the household - preferably do this through an open window so you don't have the grief of them trying to engage you at the door.

Simply mark the letters as "RTS not known at this address" and throw them back into the post box.

As already advised, if they do turn up on your doorstep unsolicited, simply tell them they no longer live their, and shut the door. you are under no obligation to provide them with any proof of this, just as you are under no obligation to engage with them on your property.

If they fail to leave, tell them you will call the Police if they don't, and give them a call on 101, this type of intimidation is so 1980's.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

personally id just ignore the letters

#simply invites letter tennis if you return them

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes I'll not get into that letter tennis. I think once returned is enough, now I'll ignore any further. There are 3 different ones written now. It's just that it's not my mail so legally I can't destroy it.
