Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell, where he confirms that Labour WILL ban Fracking. The manifesto will be released in full next week.

https://www.facebook.com/JedSullivan4Fylde/videos/781090192060561/?pnref=story

only trouble with that is that like Corbyn, little-Mac would say owt.

Corbyn - life long nuclear disarm

- Corbyn Labour say we will renew the nuke deterrent

Corbyn says we should open our borders to everyone especially middle east and Africa

- Corbyn Labour says limit and control immigration

They are lying worse than the Torys. The Tory's only bend the truth into a U shape, albeit constantly,

Corbyns Labour have made truth a mobius strip.

The Tory Legacy

Record high: Taxes, Immigration, Excrement in waterways, energy company/crony profits

Crumbling: Hospitals, Schools, council services, businesses and roads

If only the Govt had thrown a protective ring around care homes

with the same gusto they do around their crooked MPs

Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell, where he confirms that Labour WILL ban Fracking.

and maybe then import more fracked gas from elsewhere, inc more from sensitive areas (as has been posted) where it is no doubt cheaper?

or will they ban all fracked gas for use in the uk.

and then, what wld they develop instead, renewables, nuclear, etc. by whom (the chinese), and at what cost, to whom. the full answers never seem to follow from the politicians' soundbites. :)

Good posts tobyjugg2 and Ford.

When questions are asked or posts make you think it is tough sometimes to answer without researching a lot more than I have.

Tough ones when you think about what you are saying.

Well first tobyjugg2 not trusting politicians.

Someone said

"How can you tell when a politician is lying."The answer came back "Their Lips move."

I am waiting for the Manifesto to come out and I expect a lot of answers then from the Labour Party.Next week sometime I believe.

Costings how things will be paid for etc.

You cannot just say you will ban Fracking without giving answers to what will replace it in a certain amount of time.Where will the gas come from before alternatives take over.A good question from anybody.

It will take time I admit that if we go that way sooner rather than later. But sooner rather than later we have to change our ways.

I would think a massive renewable program would start.

If Gas has to be bought Norway places like that rather than countries half way or more round the world.Till it is decided what replaces fossil fuels rapidly.

It is not a case of not in my backyard it is not safe and well you form you own opinion by googling Fracking. If someone said it is safe there will be no pollution to the air, the ocean streams the land no Earthquakes, no leaks, we know where all the chemicals and tell you what they are using well who knows.Although fields of concrete do not fill me with joy.

See what is happening around the world.

Although Norway by 2035 says they will be on their last third of reserves.

Hopefully by then in my view things will have changed massively.

Link.

Norwegian energy minister: We will drill until gas reserves run out.

http://www.euractiv.com/section/energy/interview/norwegian-energy-minister-we-will-drill-until-gas-reserves-run-out/

However in my view as many countries where wages etc are lower the prices will drop and we know profit is king and suppliers will buy where prices are lowest.

It does not matter to them if a site is in the middle of a Rainforest or has to be shipped half way across the world with the imprint that leaves.

So it seems to be one bit of bad news after another if this carries on.

And by doing this you encourage every country to Frack on.Some will not be bothered about pollution etc, just money supply which is needed of course. You can not watch everybody all of the time.

But renewables will create more jobs long term surely than Fracking could ever do.

Some Politicians do not accept Global Warming, Climate Change.

But I remember 50 years ago and things are changing, indeed I feel speeding up.

Videos showing this all over the Internet.

Looking around I see many countries in the world wanting or trying to Frack. Some have banned it some are trying to.

Yesterday I was invited to join a fracking group in Brazil, people, normal everyday people are so concerned, worried stressed out.

Just a quick look, someone may be interested.

Yesterday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil’s National Agency for Oil and Gas held an auction to sell off 9 blocks of land for oil and gas exploration and exploitation in the countryside.

As part of the Global Divestment Mobilisation, 350 Brasil and COESUS (No Fracking Brazil Coalition for Climate, Water and Life) came together with indigenous peoples, fishermen and representatives of other social movements to speak out at the auction against investments in fossil fuels.

https://globaldivestmentmobilisation.org/indigenous-fisherman-and-climate-activists-disrupt-oil-and-gas-auction-in-rio-brazil/

Newspapers controlled by the powerful ones must be really annoyed as Twitter, Facebook sites like those are really showing what is happening.

In real time not as a newspaper tells it.

Linking up all over the world.Livestreaming

Ah well i will end it there now, had enough for now.Just a normal person learning and listening as I go.Trouble is every day it is building across the world.

As countries Frack, all that water, all those chemicals that no one seems to know what happens to left down there.

The Earthquakes, the leaks, the transportation and filling of sites with tens of tons of Radioactive waste.

The disruption to your towns, villages countryside, homelife, police time.

Worldwide, it makes me feel quite faint. Some will cut plenty of corners in their search for money.

But of course that is my view of things.

Check out you area see what may happen by pressing your region, many links leading off.

What's Happening In Your Region.

http://frack-off.org.uk/social-media-post/10000-tonnes-of-fracking-waste-destined-for-radioactive-landfill-near-peterborough/

Have a nice weekend, do not have nightmares sleep well.I hope soon Ford the politicians give full answers, we will see.If not they will be asked. And today it is quite easy to become like a flea in their ears.:-D

good post tawny :)

i recently watched a news item on al jazeera where they update return to their previous stories. this one in canada where they want to frack on protected indigenous land, and the indigenous trying to prevent it. nothing is protected when it comes to commercial interests. there the gov't gave on the one hand but then later wants to take it away. as you say its everywhere. its cheap profitable gas (energy).

even with things like wind farming there are controversial issues, some here re commercial interests re controversial subsidies for landowners.

as you say, for some countries it is a profitable income, exporting to others. just like all other industries, all to some extent at their environmental expense at the favour of the importing country. money talks, dirty cash and all that.

take recycling/waste. some councils send such abroad to be dumped/landfilled with little environmental control there. as you say, so long as we're allright jack

i digress, so will stop typing :)

Tory donor questioned by SFO over corruption claims at Petrofac

More academic studies point to more unpredicted health risks

A journey into the unknown

What the sources are saying

Curator’s comment

The health risks of fracking will become worse as the industry grows releasing more pollutants and toxins into the environment. They will also take time to manifest with perhaps the greatest risk to future generations.

Who will pay the extra health care costs? Could insurance companies come to decide that the potential liability and damages would be too great from future class actions to make fracking insurable?

Fracking is one issue that encapsulates nearly everything that is currently wrong with the state of our democracy,”
says Tina Rothery, the anti-fracking “nana" now standing as a Green Party candidate in Fylde in Lancashire. But is it also a subject that could leave the Tory Party fractured come the 8 June?

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/energy/2017/05/could-fierce-opposition-fracking-make-life-difficult-certain-tories

Yes i have met Tina Rothery one cold freezing day at the Cuadrilla Fracking Site.

Once met you will never forget, a wonderful woman who has given up much for her beliefs. As have many protectors.

Get out there and meet the protectors.Do not believe what some say in the papers.

Down to earth people who care deeply about their communities and future generations.

HOW TO SPOT A DRILLING RIG?

This will arrive soon at the Cuadrilla Fracking Site,i have my branch ready to give it one hell of a beating.

A major part of unconventional oil & gas extraction (fracking) is the drilling of the wells which requires a specialised drilling rig. Keeping track of the fracking industry and effectively resisting it may require communities across the country to be able to spot the presence and movements of these drilling rigs.

http://frack-off.org.uk/faq/how-to-spot-a-drilling-rig/

Enough for today off for a walk on the Shoreline.

Bye for now.

INEOS FRACKING PLANS REVEALED – 396 WELLS PER LICENCE BLOCK

Documents published by Ineos with a tender advert for seismic surveying have revealed the scale of drilling they envisage for production. The diagrams made by the company show an ideal scenario, drilling 10 wells per square mile. This is higher even than the U.S. shale gas average of 8 wells per square mile. The impacts of this industrialisation; pipelines, waste facilities, processing plant and compressor stations, along with huge numbers of HGV movements (5,000 per well) and pipelines for gas wells that only last 3-5 years is what U.S. communities are suffering with right now.

Unsurprisingly with an industry that never comes clean about the realities of production, Ineos have withdrawn the document from their website but a copy is available here on the link.

Back to normal Fracking business soon.

Think this week for starters I will start with British Gas Centrica etc.Investors in the Frackers.

The liquefied natural gas/fracking industry is dumping methane and other harmful chemicals into the air 24 hours a day. Methane is a greenhouse gas that traps 84 times as much heat in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide, accelerating climate change and making this a serious problem.

The whole world is going Fracking mad.

Looking forward to the Manifesto from Labour.

Nail the will you won't you ban Fracking.Written words.

For the people in Lancashire or anyone anywhere in the UK wanting to check out the Cuadrilla Fracking Site.

Every day is a good day to visit.

But Wednesday a Swap Work for Work event is happening.

It's nearing the time when the drilling rig arrival is imminent - the time when we really need to come together. We've faced media lies, police brutality and the horrible sight of the work being done on the land. Let's come together again to show Cuadrilla we are not going away and that in fact, WE HAVE NUMBERS! Book your time off work today and come stand, dance, drum for the day on 17th May. See YOU there ♥

The labour part Manifesto is out and here is the news on Fracking.

"Labour will ban fracking because it would lock us into an energy infrastructure based on fossil fuels, long after the point in 2030 when the Committee on Climate Change says gas in the UK must sharply decline," the manifesto unveiled by Labour's leader Jeremy Corbyn read.

People are angry today at the Cuadrilla Fracking site.

Angry that Lancashire said not to Fracking but their democratic decision was overruled.

Angry that the way the police have treated them.Back in this thread you will see what has happened and is happening.Or on you tube.

As the threat of Fracking builds in the UK and the predators move in to Frack the hell out of Great Britain you can expect protests like this to continue to spread.

First video shows a live link to the Cuadrilla Fracking site.

Second video shows protectors arrive at A police station in Kirkham Lancashire to protest against allegations of Brutality against protectors of all ages.

ITV was there when things got heated.I do not know what else to say saddened by Democracy seemingly being smashed to pieces.

I will put that video on later. It seems to have vanished probably looking in the wrong place.

As soon as I find it I will put it on.

Third Video.

And as some say article 10 and 11 of human rights to slow walk not allowed. As this video shows.

As the protectors show what they wanted to do.Unfortunately, things happened again.Blood was spilt once again.Enough said.

A documentary maker was in tears as he watched this.

Of course at times like this they use strong language at times. But never violence.

Well three political parties are now against Fracking.

Only the Conservatives are for it.

America is producing more and more and other countries are going Fracking mad.

Price of Oil v worthwhile to Frack is lowering talk of 40 dollars and still worthwhile, profitable

The Saudis are not that happy, rumours of tens of billions lost.

Many countries in debt.So desperate to reduce debt despite a risk to the environment.

Countries debt.Wherever you are.

http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/

People think Fracking here will lower prices but will be sold on the open market and as other countries keep producing more ignoring the risks prices will fall. Or not, profit is king.

Worries to myself that a free for all is developing here in Great Britain.

Some companies are desperate, short of dough and make you feel they may take shortcuts.

Leaks, spills pollution, tremors will happen.

The Protectors know this and worry for future generations their local people.

They clearly are being targeted, pushed shoved, bullied, intimidated, bruised, battered by orders from high to see this through no matter what. This must be clear now.

Nothing must stop this Fracking to start. Here in Lancashire.

Others waiting with their tongues hanging out and slavering at the prospect of destroying thousands of Acres of Land in Great Britain.Arriving from many places.Take the dough and run back to their Tax Havens as other predators have before.

But the Protectors will not give up and things are still building, they are not going away.

We need if you are against Fracking for the Unions, like Unite to step in and help.

If you are for Fracking well as said you have plenty of publicity so I am not going to give any if I can help it.

Renewables are modernising a thread that will develop, I have not had enough time to show what is happening in the world properly.

Even some countries that are selling gas are trying as fast as they can to change their ways.

The Link.

Where are we going with Renewable Energy in Great Britain. Who Knows.

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?476755-Where-are-we-going-with-Renewable-

Energy-in-Great-Britain.Who-Knows.

When you look where Fracking may start and has started across the world it fills you with dread.

Demand is clearly growing for energy across the world it seems but this is not the way to go. In my view that is.

It seems to be all about the money as usual.

I will leave you with a video showing what happened when protectors tried to show slow walking under article 10 and 11 of the human rights to protest was safe near the Cuadrilla Fracking Site.

Brutal arrests 17th may 2017 Preston New Road

Something else is happening this morning just trying to find out what.

Just been thinking about a chap called John Tootill a nurseryman who lives near the Fracking Site.

I met John, not to talk to just our paths crossed when he was at Wensley's farm the farmer who let his land to Cuadrilla.John was having his peaceful protest when all hell broke loose a while ago.

A little about John.In this article

How 25 Metres of Country Road Became England’s

Fracking Frontline

John Tootill started Maple Farm Nursery – with his dad – 31 years ago.

In an area of England where the dominant Spring colours remain stubbornly brown beneath slightly-greener brown, the protesters wear fleeces, they hold placards, they occasionally sing. But most of all, they chat: about the police, about the day before, about the weather, about Fylde, about who did what, when and where.

https://www.desmog.uk/2017/05/02/how-25-metres-country-road-became-england-s-fracking-frontline

So we have Cows grazing, then milk popped into the food chain. Sheep nibbling pretty close to the Fracking Site.

Ditches, Marl Pits, Ponds close by as well.Obviously attracting wildlife.

Does anyone know what the effects of Fracking are on wildlife, on grass the possibilities?

Quite obvious the field is finished now it is nothing but a desert for wildlife, a concrete hideous mess.

Just one link for now.But there will be more as I research harder, look across the world to see what has happened, or is happening to nature.

UK fracking sites could threaten the diversity of Britain's wildlife

More than two-thirds of the areas the government has earmarked for potential shale gas extraction have an above-average level of biodiversity

http://www.wired.co.uk/article/fracking-uk-impact-wildlife

Here are a couple of pictures, one of John proudly holding a placard.

As said i met John when he was at Wensley's farm having his peaceful protest a while ago.

When you get to my age, used to observing watching people you soon realise John is a tremendously strong man.Honed over years of hard work.A nurseryman with all that history on the Fylde Coast.

In a normal situation on the street, a person grabbing John this way would have been planted upside down and plants would now be growing out of their boots.

But as many know when a Uniform grabs your brain tells you not to react.

Although perhaps you feel differently deep down. Not funny when you are being abused.

Look back in your lives, how many times have you been grabbed, thrown around by someone who has lost control of a situation.

Only seems to be one winner in these situations.

But yesterday he was treated roughly as he and others went to protest about Police Brutality towards them at where else but Kirkham Police Station in Lancashire.

Enough for now unless something else happens today which it usually does.

Bye for now.

Fracking: Drilling to require the same planning permission as wall, says Tory manifesto

Fracking is the future gift that – somehow – never stops giving.

Since the idea first emerged that the UK could enjoy a “US style” shale boom global oil and gas prices have fallen, drilling outside the US has ground to a standstill and exactly nobody is producing any shale gas anywhere in the UK.

But why let that get in the way of story about new, exciting, industry which could rebalance our economy away from the EU-dependent banking sector and back towards good old fossil fuels –

which now need no more planning permission than a modification to your garden fence.

http://energydesk.greenpeace.org/2017/05/18/comment-tory-manifesto-exempts-drilling-planning-permission-much-like-boundary-wall/

Conservatives back fracking and seeks to take some shale decisions away from local councils

A Conservative government would take some decisions on shale gas drilling plans out of local control.

In the manifesto, the party said:

Drilling that did not involve fracking would be classed as permitted development and would not need planning permission

Major shale planning decisions could be made by a government minister rather than a local council planning committee.

This marks a major change in policy for the Conservatives, who have previously promised local people know best” and there would be “no compromise” in taking account of theviews of local communities.

Fracking Crew Shortage May Push Oil's Biggest Bubble to 2018-

Interesting where is the Cuadrilla Crew coming from.

And why would a crew want to come and face the opposition each day from the anti frackers and wild tribes of Lancashire.

A crew typically consists of 25 to 30 workers who operate a huge array of powerful truck-mounted pumps, storage tanks for fluids and sand, hoses, gauges and safety gear. Fracking, which involves pumping tons of water, sand and chemicals into a well to smash open the surrounding oil- and gas-soaked rock, is the most expensive part of drilling a well, usually accounting for about 70 percent of the total cost.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-17/fracking-crew-shortage-may-push-oil-s-biggest-bubble-into-2018

Anti-fracking campaigners block entrance to engineering firm

CAMPAIGNERS blocked all the entrances to a Bolton engineering firm as they protested against its role in a fracking project in Lancashire.

Two people locked themselves to the main gates of AE Yates’headquarters in Cranfield Road, Lostock, at around 5.30am yesterday.

The company has a £1.5million contract to build a shale gas exploration site at the Little Plumpton site in Lancashire by drilling firm Cuadrilla.

The campaigners estimated that there were around 50 people present supporting the two people locked to the gate.

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/bolton/15297049.Anti_fracking_campaigners_block_entrance_to_engineering_firm/

Financial Times declares a winner in the war for energy’s future, and Big Oil won’t be happy

‘Fossil fuels have lost. The rest of the world just doesn’t know it yet.’

Traditional energy companies and mainstream financial publications are finally waking up to the new reality:

The shift to renewable energy, electric cars, and a low-carbon economy is now unstoppable.

The details of this transition are spelled out in a new, must-read, 4000-word article in the Financial Times, “The Big Green Bang: how renewable energy became unstoppable.”

https://thinkprogress.org/renewable-energy-is-unstoppable-declares-financial-times-40c222f439bb

Just not forgetting the PR machines of the Fracking companies are gearing up as Fracking threatens the UK.

The lobby groups are lobbying.

The palms of the powerful ones are being oiled.

And the normal person who says too much or protests usually ends up thrown aside, not listened to or worse.

Amazing that i have talked to some less than a mile away who do not know what is happening or what Fracking is.

Whichever side of the fence you are sat on, go and meet the protectors.

Both sides of the story have to be told and it is ok sitting there comfortable in your armchair commenting in local rags whose circulation is dropping through the floor.

Or controlled by one sided views.

These Fracking rigs and fields of concrete may be on your doorstep soon.

The disruption it will cause till you see it you will not believe.

Then your attitude may change.May.

Everybody when putting their view out goes for the shot that tells how they see things as I do.I have just refrained from putting one on.

The police have to be in the middle even if they hate this Fracking idea.

But sometimes when passions are high whichever side you are on an individual may lose it.

It happens.

Fracking economics spells bad news for Britain

The popular narrative put out by the fracking industry (or at least that part of it that makes money selling worthless paper to fools) is that technological developments caused a dramatic fall in the cost of fracking to the point that even with oil prices (which gas prices follow) below $50 per barrel shale oil and gas could be recovered profitably.

It is no doubt this propaganda that has informed the UK Tory party decision to gamble Britain’s future on an all or nothing dash for shale gas.

Seen this kind of thing many times before. And not till public pressure was applied did the Predators go back to whence they came.

The Predators giving big Donations to the Conservative party.

When you give big donations like this it has to be said by some Money For Influence.

Someone gives you this kind of money when a favour is asked in the future it is quite possible the donation will be remembered and smooths the path, oils the rusty hinges on the doors that stubbornly refuse to open to what they really want.

Some might think, well i do anyway.

Oil bosses have given £390,000 to Tories under Theresa May

How many times have we heard this before. And many times it hurt people financially because they were the targets.

And they let the people of Great Britain be targeted, ripped off and did so till enough people said NO.

Now it is people and the environment that are at risk.

Three of the donors have attended dinners with May or senior ministers since she took office.

Revelation of big donations comes after manifesto promised to build on ‘unprecedented support’ for industry

“Government misled public and parliament over shale gas carbon emissions” – new research

The government misled parliament and the public over the climate change impacts of shale gas, according to new research. It suggests that ministers

may even have breached their code of conduct by giving MPs inaccurate information.

The conclusions, by environmental investigator Paul Mobbs, centre on the government’s use of a report to portray shale gas as a bridge to a green, low carbon future.

https://drillordrop.com/2017/05/24/government-misled-public-and-parliament-over-shale-gas-carbon-emissions new-research/

Protests seem to have been held today at Cuadrilla Head Office in Preston.

Not been around much this morning so not up to speed yet.Video.Seem to have been told to move by 12-45 or else, what that means I do not know.

I have not heard what may have happened at 12-45.Update later.

Update from George a protector.

We have all now been removed from the Cuadrilla HQ offices. Some slight struggles took place but no one seems to be injured. We are now on the public footpath just off their land. Everything is very peaceful. The surrounding businesses all seem to be on our side :)

Well, it is so hot tonight Tawnyowl is not roosting yet.

And anyway I have some news, draw closer.

The Bentley Boys are going to be at Cuadrillas Fracking Site this morning sometime. Can you believe this news.

Now some reading this thread for the first time may not know who they are.So let me enlighten you.

Pity a couple more planeloads of protectors could not come with them from Australia.

So many coincidences to what the Frackers are doing or trying to do here.

Why is the NSW government so determined to override the wishes of the vast majority of the residents of the Northern Rivers?

Back in 2014.

Bentley Blockade - The Medium is the Message.

The extraordinary tale of a community who defied the gas juggernaut.

Ah well, old Tawnyowl would like to go and meet these warriors, protectors but also likes to connect live links to as many places as possible.

I cannot believe or finding it hard to believe this Conservative government is determined to push things through.

Dinosaurs, heads in the sand too many connections to corporations, chums rotting from the inside. My view.

Some other news from other areas.

Don’t do it, Scotland: fracking warnings from Pennsylvania

Jane Worthington’s voice starts to crack when she talks about the future. “I believe that in my daughter’s lifetime, she’ll have a form of cancer,” she says. “I don’t ever want to think that I didn’t do enough.”

She is driving around the town of Mount Pleasant in Pennsylvania, pointing out fracking sites. “I want her and her brother to have passion because if I weren’t here, I would want them to continue to fight for what’s right – and that’s clean air and clean water.”

Paul Boron(AEYates MD) has just accepted a

12000+
signature petition from the Bolton Against Fracking campaigners.

You can listen to what he says, but some may think 1.5 million pounds may have clouded his judgement. And the thoughts of future contracts. That's business fair enough but this is filthy Fracking we are talking about.

Just spreading out a touch as things are happening in Sussex.Getting tougher to keep up but will do the best I can.

FRACKING COMPANY DRILLING FOR KIMMERIDGE SHALE OIL IN BILLINGSHURST

A drilling rig targeting shale/tight oil has been moved onto the Broadford Bridge site near Billingshurst, West Sussex, threatening not only the local community but the whole of the Weald. Fracking company UK Oil and Gas Investments (UKOG) is planning to drill a test well at the site into the Kimmeridge Clay shale formation. Exploitation of tight oil would mean drilling hundreds or thousands of wells across large areas of Sussex and Surrey.

'Orphan' oil wells warning for fracking

Plans to expand shale gas "fracking" in the UK must learn from leaks and poor monitoring at existing onshore oil and gas sites,

scientists say.

A review of 2,152 wells drilled from 1902-2013 found up to 100 "orphaned" wells for which no firm is responsible.

Only two cases of well "failure" were recorded, but legacy sites are not monitored for leaks, the authors note.

A brief history of what has happened in the Weald Basin in the past 2 years with Oil exploration, and why it is concerning so many people.

BP explored this area in the 80's and did not bother because the technology was not advanced enough, and it costs a lot to extract such "sour" oil.

Today At Billinghurst. Some may not know much about Billinghurst, as I did not a short time ago.
