There is a simple answer to this, DON'T USE UJM! As far as I can see and that I know of from people (claimants) I see and speak to at JCP and INGEUS no one uses it. When asked why I don't use it I simply replied "it is badly managed, most jobs are fake or unfit for purpose and minimum wage, the system does not work and it needs binning" Saying that, agencies are just as bad which is why I cannot be bothered to do a proper application any more and simply do 'one click' applications

Whats worse is gov announced unemployment is down AGAIN today on bbcnews

I wonder how many younger people have given up and just living in the hotel of mum and dad as they have themselves seen what it was driving them to. Thus unemployed, not in education and not collecting any benefit and therefore NOT on any statistic

what I hate is that you can say you want jobs within a 20 mile radius but every time it gives you jobs that are anything between 30 miles away or more!, also jobs that are supposed to no longer be available are still on the site!

Of course unemployment is down ...

It is holiday season and those toilets aren't going toclean themselves or holiday park caravans aren't going to hoover themselves whilst their FULL TIME staff are on leave and there is more customers using the facilities. A cynic would say that these jobs are temporary for a few months until the season is over ... oh, I am a cynic but I bet I am right.

Also unemplyment is down because more people have become destitute and ill going through this sickening regime every day of diaries, voluntary work, forced labour etc for £56-72 per week so decide to borrow it or try and get cash in hand for that amount easch week rather than being treated like dirt.

Take a bow IDS and the DWP - you are killing people but you don't care!

While I'm here, is there a thread for bullsh*t (ie online) recruitment firms? I have one in Birmingham: my phone beeped when it was in my hand. I looked and there was a voice message. ie no direct call, putting the onus on me to call. I called back (thus they avoided expense) and heard 'We are VERY interested in your CV Insert Name Here, and Would you Call Us back Insert name here?'

So you do (validating your data) and they aren't available.

Their name rhymes with Ditch.

Seems like a legitamate job to me. Plenty of these out there. These companies tend to have strict procedures. Afterall any 7.5t driver would not want to risk his livelyhood breaking the law. Also they would have to have risk assessments carried out etc.

Hi, please tell me to go to another thread[...] OK....

[...] currently seeking 7.5t Drivers [...] This is a fast paced role and will require you to work quickly and accurately.

Umm, nope. 7.5t drivers are restricted to the speed limits on public roads by law. The fastest they would be able to go 60mph on dual carriage/motorway, and 50mph on single lane roads unless a lower limit is posted. There is also a limit on the number of driving hours, so that reduces the potential for overtime.

Beyond that, it could be a genuine vacancy, but as it is coming from an agency, more likely a zero hour contract as part of a driver pool.

No... you can't eat my brain just yet. I need it a little while longer.

I am well aware of the speedlimits. At no point does it say they are to exceed those. Quickly and Fast Paced is more to do with route planning and also assembly work which would be considered "OTHER WORK" on a tacho and therefore not be added to driver hours. You also forgot to mention that there are also regulations for breaks, daily and weekly rest etc.

Again, nothing you have posted implies that this is a fake job. It is carried out by 100s of people nationwide. Maybe even 1000s

OK, I don't have the universal, magical awareness that you seem to have, that it's 'legitamate'. Just looked dodgy. You've done delivery jobs where you are asked to do more than simply deliver then? As in take goods into the house etc?

Yup Sure have.

Pretty sure drivers form places like Curries and furniture stores might also do "some assembly required"

Normally all that sort of thing is assigned a dedicated amount of time to your "stop"

So you have to work quickly and efficiently to remain within your time frame.

Training would be provided to the drivers and in some cases Drivers Mates.

Some companies even plan the routes. Which of course take into account speed limits. So no unofficial detours :D

Not a recruiter. I just used the words you quoted from the job advertisement. I did means to put accurately instead of efficiency but that's merely a paraphrase. Or maybe Halloween is still impacting on me and i am using black magic or something

Also for as for the overtime.

Legislation allows you to shorten daily rests and weekly rests certain amount of times over set time periods. Normally over 2 weeks.

Overtime is therefore available if you get stuck in traffic and have to extend your shift in order to take legal breaks etc.

Technically you can work a 6 day week then a 5 day week etc

It wasn't the bit about speed limits. It was the part about assembling goods. Did you not see that?

Part of an ad from Viking direct who deal in office supplies and furniture

"Free professional installation – We will deliver this item direct to the floor of your choice and assemble it for you at no additional cost "

There are lot who do this.

They want 7/5 t driver /labourers so one truck can have 2 or more drivers ,which would give a max duty time of 21hrs in each 30 hrs (9 hrs daily rest needs to be taken, in the truck or at home)

Also this type of job will be paying minimum wage rates or not very much more, and for what the company expect it's bordering slave labour, a digital tachograph card costs £42.00 lasts 5 yrs, the driver cpc isn't just a card you can buy, no that involves 35hrs of classroom boredom/training every 5 yrs and costs from £40 + per 7 hr module and you need 5 of them , jokers only bad underpaying jobs like this get advertised by the JCP ect as non one with a brain will apply

Indeed I have a digi taco card and have doen CPC training. What you forget is that out of the 4 CPC modules, 2 of them are counted when you complete your theory and another when you do a practical examination when you first get your licence.

Nowhere in your post does it specify the wage.

ALSO you have your duty times wrong. The driving hours are more complicated. EG you can only reduce your daily rest to 9 hours maximum of 3 times in a 7 day period.

I think the discussion on this job is now out of topic. From the information you have posted It is not a Fake job and actually very reasonable. For information the average rate for a drivers mate (Which assists the driver and does not drive) is normally 8 an hour.

I woudl think if you want to discuss the merit of this job you might want to create a new thread :)
