Hi, I used to work for welcome, and reading through all the posts makes me feel sick. I hated my job but got stuck in a rut.....the pay was good and it was all about targets and bonus. However, I wasn't a collector or a lender - I was an office manager (dealt with orders, posters, holidays, meetings etc). I was made redundant whilst on maternity......yes thats illegal but this is welcome that we are talking about LAW MEANS NOTHING, I was gutted re: redundancy but it was a kick in the teeth and I am soooooo pleased they did it as I am so much happier, even more so today when I found out the branch i worked in CLOSED today :-) :-) . I hope my old manager struggles like hell in life as he had debt coming out of his ears, a company car (that now has to go back) and just bought a new house that he was bragging about - a mortgage of over £1500 month ha ha, i shouldn't laugh but he did when he got rid of me at 8.5 months pregnant !!!! REST IN PEACE WELCOME lol

Yes - my branch is on the phone daily - I just dont answer it - and they dont leave a message either. :)

they are allowed to call you twice a day - once in the morning and once in the afternoon, If they leave a message in the morning they can't call you back til afternoon and leave another message, so more often than not to beat the system they will just call call call leaving no messages to "get round the system".

ha ha I had bigger and better things on my mind when they hit me with redundancy so i probably could have done alot better......but i am out and that the main thing. :-)

Any questions about welcome and what they can and can't so are welcome to come to me - i know most of the ins and outs !!!!

When I was behind they would call either from a withheld number or a selection of different mobile numbers. Anytime up to about 10pm on occassion and on one day I had 7 missed calls from them. I assumed they used mobiles so the call wasn't recorded - certainly the Bu****it they used to spout would not look good in court!

Looks like my branch has gone. All I wanted was some sort of response to my questions. In the end I wouldn't talk to them as I only got places talking to compliance. Anyway the branches appear to be as follows.

Aberdeen Belfast Bootle Bury Chelmsford Cumbernauld Dudley Dundee

Eastbourne Ilford Londonderry Maidstone Oldham Oxford Paisley

Portadown St Asaph Telford Watford Wednesdbury Wigan

York

Here's one for the mobile game.... sign them up for sub prime loans and debt advice from "we can write off your debts" merchants.

Had a call from the local office who said they were concerned for my credit rating and missing payments - the account is now officially in dispute through compliance at nottingham. Is this legal to affect my rating?
