I am trying to get the address of a plot of land which is outside the house I live in.

The council say they do not own it

I don't know how to get the address for the land or get a copy of its deeds

Hope you understand

response from the Council

Dear tenmencount,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the tree to the side of your property.

Unfortunately the land in question is not owned by Northumberland County Council. I am afraid i am not sure who does own the land. There is land in the area owned by ISOS Housing, so it may be possible that they could own the piece of land in question.

It may be worth while asking them. They can be reached on 0300 3001505.

Sincerely,

Ok, council say they don't own it, but the council may have historic plans showing the land and it might reveal a connection with a house near you. There is also the possibility that the plot of land is not owned by anyone.

Also do you live in an area with town or parish council ? They sometimes have land records. Not everything will have been properly recorded with land registry.

We could do with some help from you.

Hopefully you know your address : derive an address for the plot of land

If searching for that via the land registry(LR) fails via a registry search, get the LR to do a search of the index map.

https://www.gov.uk/get-information-about-property-and-land

If the property is unregistered, it becomes more difficult, but at least you can find out from the LR if it is registered or not.
