When you ask a question about if the authorities can trace you by you checking trustonline, it does make you take a step back and think.

If they wanted to trace you, they would use credit record, council tax/electoral roll and a multitude of other methods. Thats why i asked the question.

This is an open forum, and as already advised, you can post what you like here, but you MUST make sure none of your posts contain personal information. This helps you to get full advice towards your situation but doesnt put you at any risk.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

No website is safe. That is why you have been told NOT to provide personal info. We dont need it. We only need a general description of your situation in order to give you advice that will help you.

It's a government sponsored/recommended site.

Again, refer to post #12. I think you are starting to think too much and are worrying needlessly.

I mean the trustonline site?

trustonline is a register of CCJs - anyone can search it as they can the electoral roll and creditors can search your credit files.

please. I don't know. I didn't find anything on the site, though. But, through using it, am I anonymous.

If you have provided your personal details in order to search yourself, then the site itself will now have those details. I doubt very much that they are passing that information on - there is something called the Data Protection Act - have a read of the Information Commissioner's site.

If you are that concerned (paranoid) then you could write to Trust Online and ask them what they do with your details !!

Yes you can. Nothing will happen.

If you have been away for 10 years and have not made any payment or written acknowledgement of the debt in a clear six year period they cannot enforce anything through court either.

If, as you say, they haven't got a CCJ already then i the circumstances I have described they can't now get one.

The trustonline site crashed on chrome. Is this forum trustable.

"Is this forum trustable?"

One might equally ask if any part of the Internet is trustable.

So, if you are paranoid, don't use the Internet.

If you aren't paranoid : what leads you to wonder if this forum is trustable / why would you consider it not trustable?

Providing the debt is not secured on land of course, if it were the statue of limitations is 12 years.

DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FEES TO COLD CALLERS PROMISING TO WRITE OFF YOUR DEBTS

DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FEES FOR COSTLY TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS WITH SO CALLED "EXPERTS" THEY INVARIABLY ARE NOTHING OF THE SORT

BEWARE OF QUICK FIX DEBT SOLUTIONS, IF IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT INVARIABLY IS

small 10 year old debt. no ccj. can i return for a few days?

When you get to border controls in the UK, don't be too worried by the customs officers with the long rubber gloves on. They will use oil !

Unless you are planning on coming back to the UK reside, then you have nothing to worry about. Debts are purely a private matter between you and existing creditors or any new creditors or service providers you may wish to use. So for example if you came back to the UK and wanted to rent a property, the letting agents might run a credit check. If there was any of the previous debt issues lurking on your record, then it might cause you a problem. But for one small debt left 10 years ago, I don't think it will still be on record.

We could do with some help from you.
