The bloke yesterday morning who ignored doorbell, figured out how to open my 6ft security gate, despite large dogs barking, came into my conservatory and peered through the window while banging on the door..trapping me in the bathroom in my nightie!!!!

Fortunately for him the dogs were shut in. The fact that he was wearing overalls and looked a bit like the guy on the run in the N/E didn't help.

Had I been Grandma Clampett I would have run out in my nightie with a loaded shotgun shouting "Get offa mah land!" Sadly a toothbrush wouldn't have had the same effect so I just had to hide in my watery panic room till he'd gone.

I then got dressed at lightning speed and RAN outside, to find a BT engineer getting back in his van. I had a "word"

He'll kind of wish he'd driven off sooner, I suspect...

 

I wouldn't mind but the bleddy fault had already been fixed last week!

At least you wear a nightie - if he'd turned up at our he'd have needed therapy for a while after seeing me in the mornings:D:oops:

My son. Thinking school is part time:mad:

 

Caused me a lot of stress monday morning as didnt want to get up and I had to persist and he got abusive again. Anyhow he got to school and today says he feels ill, now he has got loose you know what, but he slept fine didnt have to get up during the night and I suggested go to school and if its a persistant problem at school them ask to come home.

 

No he says hes to ill:mad:

 

Hes obvioulsy ate something dodgy at the college cafe, last time he ate their curry, well too manyd details and I think hes ate the same thing again and it simply does not agree with him.

 

Starting to get anxious ringing the school booking him sick again, so decided today not going to ring them and ask they talk to him about what they feel he should have done today. Serioulsy hes been having a day off nearly every other week for a couple of months now and argues hes got good attendance.

 

Hes had bad headaches I had sympathy with, but now starting to realise he might be taking me for a fool:mad:

 

He aint gonna touch xbox today I will makes sure of that:p Told him to avoid chicken there again, apparantly same food as last time

 

Noticing son healthy enough to polish off a huge bowl of brecky, hummmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Lol. If he's sick he's sick, but at least you'll be able to tell if he's faking this one, because if he is dodgy he'll be spending most of the day near the white throne. In that case he probably wouldn't be well enough to go on the xbox anyway (nor would I let him do anything like that, he's either too ill to go to school in which case he's staying in bed, or he's well enough to get out of bed and stuff, in which case he's well enough to go to school, in my book). If he says he has a ...ache then you can't really contest that, because you can't tell.

 

If he is sick and he does have dodgy youknowwhats then it's probably best he stays off, it's probably catching, not to mention messy and it might not be easy to get to a toilet (let alone one which isn't full of totally annoying kids wanting to cause fights and stuff, or be pretty clean, or have loo roll - most of ours usually used to run out of loo roll by about noon and they didn't refill them until after school so you'd either have to just go and not use anything or you'd have to hold it or find one with it), especially if some teachers are on a power trip and not letting kids out of class...

 

If he's looking for reasons not to go and he isn't ill there may be some other problem - maybe someone's giving him a hard time or he's struggling with the work or something?

Just a bit of out loud thinking..Feel free to comment or place this elsewhere.

 

My BILS mother has died..His sister bought her council house using her mother and fathers discount.

 

Originally it was a joint mortgage with a loan between the sister and the mother, I'm not sure if the Dad was named. The discounted amount plus a council loan for repairs. Both of them lived there there at that time.

 

When the Dad became ill the sister changed the mortgage to her name only, after convincing her Mom that she would lose the house to and have to pay fees for his care. Our authority doesn't do that. The Mom paid rent to her daughter and all the bills, plus furnishing the property.

 

This sister is taking everything. There is a will but it has been 'lost' . The final straw for my BIL was was when his sisters boyfriend said he wanted her to give up work now her Mother had passed away. She's not even buried yet and if she couldn't be bothered to give up work to care for her when she was alive..

 

Thoughts or advice please. To me, the equity should be shared as the discount and repairs stem directly from the Mothers estate and not just to the sister. It was the mother that was entitled to the discount and the repairs and without that the daughter would not have paid in.

Story of my life-spoiled a few of my holidays.

They dont like citrus-so lemon juice is perfect.

Other less known remedies are Yeast tablets-apparantly taking these give off odours they keep away from-or vitamin B too.

 

Deet is considered best protection-the £1 shops sell various remendies but most only contain 30%-you need something with more like 50-60% Deet.

 

Citronella seems to be quite a good remedy (get it from health shops)

 

One of those electronic fly killers (Tj Hughes/Liddel ) at around £6 also work-but tend to attract more moths than mosquitos.

Only problem (if you are still away) is that hospitals and doctors will make the most of your insurance.

 

When I was in Tunisia and got bitten with a bad reaction-I was kept in their local hospital for 2 days.

Only later did I suss out why-when they gave the insurance company the bill for 1500 euros.
