Birmingham council Blue Badge fraud use - now magistrates date. **RESOLVED**

Thing is I didn’t park there because I wanted free parking…. I parked there because my child was attacking my other child in the car. I hadn’t left the vehicle unattended and the badge was thrown in the window not displayed with the correct time. 
 @learco did you get a criminal conviction too?

I don't think you've understood the criminal law process.

 

If you plead guilty to a criminal offence you get a criminal record.

 

If you plead not guilty to a criminal offence but the magistrates or the jury find you guilty anyway, you get a criminal record.

 

Therefore you will get a criminal record.

 

The next phase is the sentence - conditional discharge, fine, community service, prison, etc.  In your case a fine is by far the most likely outcome.

No because it is fraud and there was no way round it. 
Im gutted.. feel so low and deflated. Lost everything

I don’t see how it can get better. I’ll lose my job and now can’t drive as I cannot afford the insurance. 
I don’t know what I’m going to do

I have checked quotes for insurance and they are still a lot more than what I am paying now. My insurance has gone from £135 a month to £7738 a year and I cannot pay monthly!!! I can’t afford that

Thing is even if the Head allows me to keep my job, I couldn’t get there. The car insurance price is extortionate and I cannot afford to pay it. Therefore taking three children to two different schools between 8:20 and 9 and to start work at 9 is impossible.

It states on my insurance I do not need to let them know about the offence until it is due for renewal. Plus I don’t just have the money to cancel it.
