Got a letter today from Lowell offering to settle my unpaid capital one account for £80.

I owe £321.

Ive not had any contact with lowell and am wondering if its a ploy.

Your thoughts?

cheers.

All I ask is to be treated fairly and lawfully.

Unless you can persuade them to confirm, in writing, that this is indeed a full and final settlement and that they will NOT sell the balance on to a 3rd party then it is so much BS !

Do also be very careful if there is PPI or penalty/default charges on the account which you might later wish to claim - Capone will most certainly want to offset the refund against any outstanding balance despite there having been a full and final settlement agreement.

Personally id ignore. The debt is a lemon debt. Meaning there is clearly something wrong with it.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

That doesn't look very much like a F&F settlement offer to me ?
