OFT not going to continue with bank charges case, I think it may have been better if they had kept their noses well and truly out of it! :(

So what does that mean for us meer mortals. Do we have to fight on by ourselves?

Oh - is that so....haven't been to the OFT thread today, but whatever the weather......Balls to the OFT. I don't feel bad anymore over the snotty email I sent to them (which of course they have not responded to) - and I don't care what they say they are PATHETIC. Of course the useless tools never got back to me.

What a game it is! Did anyone see that utterly useless mong on the telly? He was nothing short of a very bad liar, that is the world we live in!! Bond et al weren't any better, tragic in fact, but you can count on the policy makers to lie out of their skin!!! Jaysus.

I just bloody give up with this pathetic, useless, excuse for a country....it was once great. Now sh*t.

Marc Gander, CAG

Who indeed!!

It seems that once again the liccle peeps are left to fight on alone, because those in "authority" either can't see past the end of their noses or don't have the bottle to stand up for what's right!!

Shame on them.:-x

The OFT, FSA and other regulatory bodies in the financial world only exist to support eachother, and not the 'little person'.

Well, I am not impressed by any of them, too many regulators and not enough clout.

The Banks will find that people will now not leave any money in them and keep it somewhere else... I have plenty of odd socks at the moment should anyone need one to store funds in!

Why not start something on Facebook? If the Rage campaign can kick Simon Cowell's prodigies off the No1 slot, then surely we could kick up a big enough stink against the OFT.

If all else fails, kick them where it hurts and SOD'EM;)

Why oh why do we bother and why are we surprised.

Ultimately departments like the OFT are under the control of the politicians. The same trustworthy individuals who have pilfered the public purse so blatantly with their expenses (with a few notable exceptions). Have the OFT been got at? Surely not? Under pressure from the banks and probably treasury? As majority shareholder/major creditor in a number of banks they have a vested interest in supporting the banks don't they?

The OFT have already shown their incompetence in not raising the all the legal issues that make the charges unfair. The appeal court has made it clear there is another avenue for the consumer to persue under the same legislation. Not rocket science is it?

So sod the OFT, sod the government - I'll carry on my own fight with the support and advice available on CAG. In the words of Winston Churchill, I'll keep "buggering on" until I've gotten my money back. I suggest everyone else does likewise.

PS Rant over - Merry Christmas everyone
