  1. I have 101different reasons for applying for a budgeting loan. But I feel that I might get refused. What are the best reasons to give,? After all,the money is still going to be repaid so I dont see why one reason should be better than the other....but that's just the way it is . Im up to my eyes in 101 different types of debt that has built up since I lost my job and I need to get some of it paid quickly. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  2. Hi Everybody, I have got myself into a right state with Payday loans and have been trying to protect myself from default notices however I am now just sick of paying the interest and would rather have my money than a clean credit file. Anyway, I now simply cannot afford to repay the loans however I earn reasonably good money and can pay them all off within 2 months. Can you please let me know what you think about my response to 'Speed Credit' who are deamanding immediate payment and threatening to add a further £150 to my loan of £400 + further interest and charges, threatening to CCJ me and threatening warrant of bailiffs. Hello, Please do not ignore this correspondence. I am including the 'Office of Fair trading' and the UK ' Financial Ombudsman' with all correspondence in relation to this account in order to uphold my rights and be protected by the UK laws. Please note that I am not ignoring you and our relationship has not broken down however you have acted as an irresponsible lender on the following grounds and have not adhered to practices according to the' Consumer Credit Act 1974' 1. I am now in serious financial difficulties as a result of short term pay day loans 2. I currently have 8 payday loan creditors totalling a sum of over £4000.00 3. At the time that the Speed Credit loan was issued by you I had over £3,600 worth of payday loans and would not have been able to repay the full amount 4. No checks were made to understand if I could afford to repay the loan. I do not agree to pay your extortionate charges and demand that all interest and charges are fully suspended. If you are not willing to suspend interest and charges then you will need to explain to me and to the 'Office of fair trading' how these fees are justified. If charges and interest continue to be added then I will have no choice but to make official complaints to the financial ombudsman and the office of fair trading I do agree to the following: 1. I will repay the initial loan of £400 on Friday 29th June 2012 2. I will repay interest as originally agreed for 1 Month ONLY 3. This will total a repayment of £592 to reach you on or before 29th June 2012 (APR of 16 534% APR) 4. This will end all contracts between us and will not affect any credit file as you have originally lent this amount irresponsibly 5. If this is not acceptable then please respond to myself, the Office of fair trading and the financial ombudsman 6. If charges and interest continue to be added then I will have no choice but to petition your company in court. I look forward to your response. Regards
  3. Last year me and my partner had some issues (homeless twice! and jobless and JSA delaying payments) so we were forced to take some crisis loans. We started to pay them back in Jan when we signed onto JSA again after working and then losing our jobs. The payments stopped for reasons we still do not know. I found out I was pregnant in Decemeber so a few weeks ago we applied for income support as advised by jobcentre. The claim was taking so long to process that we had to get a crisis loan for food which was accepted. I have no qualms about paying back the money I owe (I borrowed it so I am more than willing to pay it back) I'm just wondering it it would be possible to delay the repayments until after the baby is born in a few weeks time? This is my first child and we have a million things to do and pay for. Does anyone know if this would be possible?
  4. hi all, i am new here, like many posts i have read recently, it is somewhat a relief that there is a way out of the payday loan debt spiral. here is my situation. i have 6 payday loans and cannot afford to pay them all, i have opened a parachute account to have my wages paid in to. i have loans with quick quid, wonga, payday uk, payday express, 247 moneybox and minicredit. i have sent emails out to quick quid, wonga and payday express. i am in the process of sending emails to them all. i requested a payment plan from payday express but they refuse to give me one without providing evidence of my financial difficulty, so i just keep emailing them the same email i first sent to them in hope of a payment plan eventually. i have sent the usual emails out stating i cannot pay and to freeze all interest and charges and a telephone harassment to payday express. i would much appreciate any help i can because now i feel lost with all the emails i am having to send out.
  5. Hello, I'm currently in PDL hell... it's been absolutely my own fault as I took out multiple loans and was never convinced I could afford to pay them back and it's come to a head. I've followed the basic PDL advice I found on these pages but one thing concerned me. I've opened a new bank account but it's with the same bank as the other account that my PDL creditors have. Are they able to access these details if I've never given them out? I'm absolutely sick with worry about it. I've cancelled any DD's set up on the account the loans were paid into and I've already defaulted on a couple of them, so I'm starting to get the texts and calls about paying. Thankfully my phone has a blacklist app on it so I'm just ignoring all of them. I'm willing to set up payment plans for them all, I just need to sit down and do it. QQ have been really unhelpful, they were one of the first I tried to sort things with, so I'm not very sure to do. Has anyone found a way of getting more than a 3 month repayment plan? Wonga were great, they accepted my offer of £50 per month and they've not hassled me at all. The other companies I'm dealing with are: Mr Lender QuickQuid Swift Sterling Txt Loan Wage Day Advance Cash Genie *gulp* it's kind of scary seeing them all written down like that, I can't believe I got myself into this mess. If anyone could ease my mind about the new bank account I'd be so grateful. I've got an ISA that I can transfer money in and out of which will do for now, I'm hoping that the PDL companies won't be able to access my new bank account though. Those details are completely secret and I don't intend to EVER apply for a PDL again. Any advice would be much, much, much appreciated - this girl is stressed and worried about sorting things out. Thanks for reading. Jenny
  6. Has anyone had dealings with capital finance one? They are a complete shark of a company, I originally applied for a Payday loan with them, then cancelled it within a couple of days!! Basically they took the interest that would have been due on the loan from my account, without my authorisiation!!! Now if they had just refunded it, their wouldn't really be a big issue! But they are rude, full of rubbish about one thing or another, and don't answer the phone, at all. Or respond to e-mails, if..(and I use the word IF carefully) they do answer the phone, they just feed you nonsense about this that or the other. They are a very small outfit, maybe 5 or so people working there. You no this because its only ever 1 person that answers the phone!! But I have been gathering a case against them, to take to the FSA! I know this might seem petty, but I will NOT be taken for a MUG!!!! So I have also reported them to the police, and emailed them this below letter : ************************************************** ** Well done!!! after repeatedly ignoring my e-mails and refusing to answer the phone, I have now taken the matter of you taking money from my card without my consent into my own hands and 32 other people, (so far) and coming up with a load of !!!!!!!! about refunding it. I have now gathered a group of people who have all been messed around by you, namely you taking money from peoples account without authorization etc... which is fraud and theft!! Which I have done through an internet forum. I have taken the names, numbers and testaments, and have taken the case directly to the FSA, Trading standards and I suppose the best in my opinion! I have reported you for theft, and fraud to the police, as the other agencies are notorious for delaying processes with "white tape" I have already given my statement to the police, and then I presume they will take the matter further with your local police, as I am up the other end of the country, although I know your area very well. I have also set up multiple web forums to encourage anyone who has been messed around by you to go to the FSA, contact me, and anyone who has had money taken without their consent to go to the police!!! In the past 2 days, 3 people have said they will go to the police with fraud / defraud & theft allegations!! I have given them the number of a DI, that I have been given who deals with financial crimes, and based in London, if your reading this Barry, you are the name they have as I have never spoken to anyone else at your offices, and really very much doubt their are any more than maybe 5 of you there anyway!! You are also breaking the law, as it is impossible to view the T's & C's through your website, and I and many other people cannot do this either. Don;t worry Ive highlighted All this because you wouldn't refund my £31 ????? In case your wondering its ****** *** from Oldham, and i'm personally going to make sure that you either cease to operate as a business, or you give people their money back!!! You can't run a business! You couldn't even run a public toilet!! ************************************************** I just want to know peoples experiences with this company, and also want to warn people not to deal with them!! If possible! I know its tempting to get a payday loan! But if you value your bank account and the little money in it! then don't use these or they will drain it randomly!!! oricle
  7. So im finally registered here after spending the last couple of weeks reading through posts on payday loans and how to cope with them. First i know im stupid for taking these loans but times were desperate and i could afford the rollover fee's but i have now moved into a new flat with bills and it has now put pressure on my circumstances. First my old debts: Capquest - 2100 (Paying at £50 a month) SRJ Debt Recovery - 600 (Paying at £600 a month) These bad marks on my file are the reason for my use of payday loans however my question on these is hen does the default drop off my credit file. Is it 6 years from the date of default or the date the money is cleared as they have been registered on my credit file for roughly 4 yrs now. Ok now onto the payday loans: Wonga: Agreed To Freeze Interest And Accept Payments Of £48.12 over 10 months. Wage Day Advance: Agreed To Freeze Interest And Accept Payments Of £38.12 over 6 months. Peachy Loan: Agreed To Freeze Interest And Accept Payments Of £38.12 over 4 months. Cash Genie: Agreed To Freeze Interest accpet payments of £25.00 over 6 months. Now the companies causing me issues are: TxtLoan: Will Accept A Payment plan but add £200 on to the final balance. from what i've learnt looking round the site i should negotiate at 1 months interest plus the original loan sum. Quickquid: While they have offered a payment plan it is only over a 3month period and is not suitable for me at £103 a month. i need to realistically stretch this over 6 months. Any advice on these two at all? does anyone know what there debt collectors are like? Also i've recently changed job so these companies will not have a work contact number for me - is there anyway they will be able to track down my place of work?? im new at the business and fear repeated calls from these companies could lead to me being fired. cheers for your help in advance, time for a change P.S. please find attached my correspondance with txt loan up until this point below in italics while quickuid are refusing to communicate via email and keep asking me to call. Anyone got any suggestions on a good email for quickquid. My 3rd or 4th Message To Them I again offer a payment schedule based on the original loan amount plus one months interest (?353) to be paid in installments of ?45.00 per month with a final balance payment of £40 in the final month. Could you please forward me your bank details by return so I can set up a standing order to make the above payments. my offer is to repay 1 months interest at the original amount as i know you have agreed with others not for the amount 550. alex moore please respond urgently so i can set up the standing order to commence on the 30/01/12 my suggested repayment plan is 30/01/12: £45 30/02/12: £45 30/03/12: £45 30/04/12: £45 30/05/12: £45 30/06/12: £45 30/07/12: £45 30/08/12: £40 this would total £360 clearing the entire balance on the account. regards, XXXXXX XXXXX There Latest Response Dear Alex, Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, we can not accept the repayment plan you suggested as per your loan agreement the amount of £554 needs to be repaid. If you are not willing to accept to repay in £45 monthly repayments for the next 6 months and then increase the repayments to £80 until the balance clears, then after 61 days from the time you made the loan request your loan will be handed over to our debt collector. The full amount you will need to repay them is £692.50. Please confirm how would you like to proceed? Then after this they sent me the following which contradicts what they say above by taking £45 payments and no increase in repayments as stated above: Dear Alex, Thank you for contacting us. We offer short-term 15 day loans only. However, as a responsible lender, we are willing to modify your repayment details and agree that you can pay back the outstanding balance as follows: Loan ID: XXXXX PAYMENT PLAN: Date: 2012-01-30 / Amount 45.00 Date: 2012-02-29 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-03-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-04-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-05-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-06-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-07-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-08-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-09-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-10-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-11-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2012-12-30 | Amount £45.00 Date: 2013-01-30 | Amount £14.00 Total Sum: £554.00 Please note that we will debit your card for the repayments so please make sure we have your up to date details. If you fail to follow the repayment plan the loan will continue to follow the original credit cycle per your loan agreement.
  8. Wondering if anyone can help or advise me about claiming PPI back?? I took out loans in 2002/2003 not sure how many as its now with the credit agency Wescot, Could anyone advise me on how i go about or even if i can claim PPI on these??
  9. I have other threads and have found very good advise here. I have my main current account with Santander after they took over the business of the A&L. The account dates back to the early to mid 90s and it came with a Flexiplan account attached to it. A standing order goes out every month to the Flexiplan, when the account is in credit it's like a savings account but it also has a credit line of £750, which is totally independent of the overdraft. Every month a small amount (just under £3) gets debited from my current account as 'Flexi Premiumcare'. This debit has been there as far as I can remember, along with the £30 S/O to Flexiplan and is charged even when the Flexi account is in credit, which has been around 90% of the time. Could this be PPI by any other name? I think I must relate to the Flexi account and not the O/D as I've only had and O/D for the last 10-12 years, the Flexi was there since I opened the account. Although the amount is small, it has been charged every month for around 17 years! I've read in these forums that there's no time limit to reclaim PPI (if that's what it is). Both my current account and Flexiplan are in credit and, thanks to MBNA taking over the A&L credit cards, I have no defaults with Santander. Is there any way I could reclaim these 'Premiumcare' charges? If I SARd Santander they'd probably send the usual 6 years statements which is not good as this goes back a lot further. However, as far as I can remember, these amounts have been largely unchanged over the years (it may have been £2.75 and now £2.90/mth but that's about it!) & the Flexi credit line has also remained unchanged. How can I be sure it's PPI? if not, what is it? Is there a way I can find out when I first got the Flexi, I can't even remember what year I opened the account as it's been so long! Also, is there a chance they could cancel my Flexiplan or even the O/D even though I'm in credit and paying in just because I start trying to claim old charges? I also had a personal loan that I took out in 2006 with the A&L, I rang Santander in August & they said the last payment would be the one in Sept this year so the loan is now paid off. There was a single monthly payment going out to Santander Loans, otherwise I have no paperwork for the loan, everything was done very quickly by a financial adviser in a branch in the City, I think all I did was sign if at all! Is there any way to find out if any PPI was applied to this loan? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi, I had taken out a loan 5yrs ago and the current balance is £17K. End of last year Tesco stopped taking DD and sent me a default notice. I believe default means you failed to pay.? However, they cancelled the DD it seems and cannot give me an answer despite several letters to them WHY! when there was money in account. This was way back in Jan 2011. They sent me copies of agreements etc but they still do not answer my question - Who authorised cancellation of DD. now they are sending me demand notices via third parties debt collection and I am worried what to do next. I am not at fault since I did not cancel DD. Tesco is demanding the full amount and I cannot pay them now. I can only pay £50 mth and may be once I have a job I can pay more. Please help me what i can do now. Can i stop debt collectors form taking any further action and what can I write to Tesco? What is my next move? Thanks.
  11. Hi everyone, I have just spent a good few hours reading all the threads but find nothing that suits my situation. So I have loans from 98,99,00 and 01. I live abroad, Europe but non-EU. I have been deferring all my loans since they were taken out. Then it all went wrong, I informed the guys of my change of address and they never noted it. After it all went crazy and to cut a long story short i have ended up paying the arrears on a loan in small installments. They have also slapped a load of charges on for good measure. So, I guess that asking for the original loan agreement will only work for one loan and not the others, so maybe i will try. But now for my real question, I notice that many people take SLC to the small claims court in the UK. Can i do this from outside of the UK? Can they do a CCJ on me if i am outside of the UK? Its all a bit complicated now and the pressure that they put on me is getting me down whenever i have to communicate with them. I will never live in the UK again, my family are here and elsewhere, i have not even visited in the past 2 years. I am almost tempted to ignore them. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Pete
  12. Hi hope someone can help me. We had a loan with future which was taken out in Nov 2003 and the broker was Purple Loans which is now part of GE Money. We wrote to Future before Christmas with regard to mis sold PPI they got back to us and told us it was Purple we had to deal with as they made us take the PPI we wrote to the address then we had to write to GE as they now own Purple. GE have replied to say as it was before 2005 and as more than 3yrs has passed we should have had cause to complain also since it was more than 6yrs they or the FOS are unable to help or to do any more and this is the final response letter. We are owed over £1700.00 of this PPI which we know now was forced on us the loan was paid out in 2006 and no rebate or any thing was ever paid back. So what we need to know is there anyone who can help as our next step is or where to go.
  13. Hi this is my first ever post on this site, please be gentle My sister had a LARGE refund on mis-sold PPI due to this site so I thought I'd give it a go. In August 2006 I was made redundant with a £12000 pay off from work, while living it up, the Halifax kept contacting me about the money in my account and offering appointments and advice, so my wife and I went to see them and during our advice meeting we got round to the talk of loans, we spoke of home improvements etc.etc and somehow we managed to walk out of the branch with a freshly signed loan for £28000 for home improvements. It wasn't a 'straight' loan, i believe £15000 was added as a 15 year mortgage and £13000 was a loan. What my question is should the Halifax have checked that I was actually in employment ie. Pay slips, contacting my employer etc.etc.?? Any advice would help me greatly Ps I am in the process of writing for the original agreement, should be with me next week Kind regards Jamie
