I dont know where to post this. I have had so far in the region of 30+ phone calls for a specific person who I do not know on my landline and mobile from The Money Group, Claims specialists, Secure my money etc. They just keep coming I complain they say they will stop and eventually some have but new ones take over. I am disabled this is harrassment and its really getting to me now because I don' t think they believe im not the woman they are after. Its costing me to keep complaining.

Well tell them when they ring that you will "go and get her" but you will be a few minutes. Then leave the phone on the side. It will cost them then!

Just leave it 10 minutes and see if they have hung up.

Or if when you recognise the number when they ring you can answer it and blow raspberries down the phone and giggle!

OR answer it and blow a loud whistle down the phone.

Play with them, they will get bored first!

I think you should make a general complaint listing all the companies you name, to the OFT.

I wonder if it might also be a good idea to speak to your service provider they might be able to help.

Sounds like these companies might have been deliberately given an incorrect number.

I wonder if this is something you could complain to the police about ?

I will ask others on site team if they have any ideas.

There are so many different numbers it would be a huge list to go through everytime phone rings. Provider wouldnt be very helpful as my landline and mobile are from two different companies. Somebody has clearly registered my numbers as their own to avoid the harassment im getting and as I said I dont know this person. Im wondering whether its a police matter now.

When they ring, get their details, ie the name of the company, then tell them to remove your number from their files, should they call again you will report them to the police for the criminal offence of harassment.

Get onto your landline provider and go through their malicious calls procedure, if needs be they will change your number for free.

Is your moby PAYG or pay monthly? If it is PAYG then you can get another sim card, if it is pay monthly, then again go through your providers malicious calls procedure, and again if needs be they can change your number.

You should also check your credit files, look and see if anyone has been searching your files. You can do this for free using experians 30 day trial period, you jut have to remember to cancel within the 30 day trial period before they bill you monthly.

Have you received any letters from any of them?

When they ring apart from getting their details for your records and instructing them not to ring again, just hang up, this should force them to send letters.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

It has been suggested that you contact OFCOM - link above.

Although I can see the problem is more likely that someone has spammed your telephone number round various Pay Day Loan companies.

Yes agreed, hopefully this isn't something more sinister like ID theft? Hope not..

I agree with Boo, report all calls to your provider. In the short term i would get a blocking app for your mobile, i got one from a well known online trader , it is a fantastic piece of kit , blocks calls & text from any numbers you choose, it cost me £1.20. I also have a true call system but that is not so cheap but well worth the investment.

Good Luck

I also agree that the letter posted by Stu007 should be sent, by recorded delivery to the registered office of the companies who are calling you. The one amendment I would make is to also add that you reserve your right to take direct action for damages caused by their harassment. I have some experience with this after I received around 100 bills and other account documents from a utilities company of which I have never been a customer. When they refused to close "my" account or deal with my complaint, I had no choice but to issue proceedings under the 1997 Harassment Act. That stopped them :-)

In the past when I have had texts and telephone calls (which have now stopped) I have reported the company name and telephone numbers and frequency to the Ministry Of Justice - [email protected] (without the space)

Thanks for all the replies I have checked credit reference and the only two that have searched are money supermarket I think that was when I purchased travel Insurance. The other and I believe these to be the culprits of passing on info is Cccs. Before I spoke with them I hadnt had any of these calls.
