Just checked my account today and CCM (re The Money Shop) have stolen £166 from me! I do not owe them a penny, although the OH does. I have used my card once to pay them on his behalf a couple of months ago, but they seem to have taken it upon themselves to dip into my account again. This is my sole account to which the OH has no access! Apparently I have to go to the money shop today with my card and ID and they will refund me. However, that is not the point. I am so, so angry that they think they can do this. It's obviously something automated as the money was taken (as a card payment) at 0325 this morning.

Who should I report them to? This is just theft, plain and simple. :-x:-x:-x

You can get your money back via your bank through the chargeback system - if you ring them and explain an unauthorised withdrawal has been made on your card. The best thing to do while you are on the phone is have the card cancelled as it has been compromised. They will ask you to get a crime reference number, ring the non emergency local number. They will probably tell you they don't investigate card fraud any more unless your bank asks them to step in, but insist on a reference number.

I've just had to do this at work as some kind person used our debit card details to book themselves several flights....Barclays were actually very helpful and it was sorted within a week (could have something to do with us being a children's charity!)

Trading Standards, the OFT, FSA and the ICO.

The ICO because they are processing your data incorrectly. ;)

The ICO? Who are they? I will be reporting them as soon as I have paid my visit to The Money Shop.

As for the bank, I called them but because it was a card payment, they said it was an outstanding transaction, and that they are unable to help until the 6th August.

Thanks people.

When you complain to the ICO you should emphasise the fact that you are not a customer of CCM you have no agreement with them yet they are processing your details and illegally using your bank details to withdraw your money.

def chargeback if by a card number

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

WOW! That is a turn up for the books......unruddybelievable! That actually speaks volumes to me, as they clearly know they have committed an offence and obviously think that by correcting their mistake you will toddle off happy....

Formal complaint to their head office, the OFT&TS via http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Dl1/Directories/UsefulContactsByCategory/Governmentcitizensandrightscontacts/DG_195948

The ICO and even your local MP.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

I have seen a few of these issues, I assume it is a payday loan. It boiled down to what the t&cs stated and I think somewhere in there it states something to do with reusing credit debit cards on file to pay, there was one sometime ago when a mother paid for her son and he would pay her cash, they just took the remainder out without her knowledge and whn complained they revered her to t&cs

My respect to people who post regularly and help people out on here. Without your help alot of wrongs would have been committed.
