eh up Tills, so this is what you've been up to.;) and here's me thinking you were sitting around drinking huge quantities of vodka, smoking too much, and endless partying:p

so listen hun, hope everything goes well for you.I can't give you any sensible advice or opinions, but glad to see you've got lots of people who can.

All I can say, is "don't let the barstewards grind you down, and keep smiling":D

All advice offered here is my opinion only based on what I would do in a given situation. If you wish to act on it you do so at your own discretion

Have you any joint accounts still open? Is the old mortgage still showing as open? When these are all closed then inform the CRA's

Hiya Tilly,

Just saw your post, yes the disassociation should do the trick, and yes just send the notice back not known at this address. Cheeky of them as this is your new address with no connection to your previous address!

You need to consider whose name(s) the debts are in Tills. ME could still come after you for the shortfall if your ex goes bankrupt, but is there anything else with your name on it?

Consider your options again, because your situation is very different now. Have you still got debts need settling apart from the mortgage shortfall? I assume Mortgage Express haven't bothered chasing you for this yet because they must know you wouldn't be in a position to settle if for some time to come.

It depends if you think spending (and saving) the money to become BR is worth it to make sure you never hear from them again. Also, whether you're likely to be in a position to settle with them and, now they've had your house, if there's anything left for them to take from you?

At the moment you seem to have a bit of breathing space to think through the pros and cons without the pressure of anyone hassling you for money.
