Depending on what it is, some won't get removed and need going into safe mode and whatnot.

Can you tell us what is the pop-up? It might help finding a more permanent solution.

Do you have any toolbar installed for smileys or screensavers or "nice" free stuff? Those really add a lot of rubbish to your PC and just keep on reinstalling them every time you connect back to the internet.

i'm getting it to, running firefox, IE is uninstalled, I have and use spybot, ccleaner and F-secure (SAAS expect me to use it). My computer is usually clean and spybot can't find anything wrong with it :S

No, spybot and adware can't find anything wrong with mine either - it's only happening on this site too.

IE isn't uninstalled. It's impossible to uninstall.

sorry I meant it was rolled back to the earliest it would go and is gathering dust in a folder in the start menu somewhere. I never use it because it's so inaccessible also firefox has great wee add in programmes for people who are studing.

Firefox won't get rid of the problem once you have it - it will only lower the risk of you getting similar things in the future.

Glad FireFox has been able to help. Now you can start tinkering with it to tailor everything as you like it. Some useful links appear in this post.

If anyone is still seeing this popup, could you send me the html source of the forums page which it is appearing on please? (either File > Save Page, or View > Page Source then copy and paste the source into a text file). That way I'll be able to see if the popup is being spawned by CAG.

It seems very unlikely that the popup is being generated by one of our pages though - we don't go in for stuff like that.

i think I'm still at the standing on the edge of the cliff and flapping my arms stage, to be honest.

Hubby, however, was mightily impressed!
