  1. Hello Once again, thank you for the replies. He's a young kid, and i wouldn't say he's being reluctant, just a little naive. Believe it or not the company are being more cooperative this time round and keep telling him they are going to put is money into is account, when he goes into the bank no money been entered. And this little joke of theirs has been happening for the last month. I personally think the company are taking the biscuit. It's going to be put through small claims now. Thanks
  2. Hello Just want to fill in fellow repliers what's been happening over the last month. Well the nephew has been in communication with several employees of the company who owe him wages. I wanted to help him go strait to small claims after advice from you, the "consumeractiongroup members" but my nephew declined. Well he's still getting the run around via emails stating the money going to be forward to his new account. The bank manager advised my nephew to go for compensation when filling out small claims forms. I would be so grateful if someone could please advise about going for compensation when filling out small claims forms. It's been 9 months since the nephew was let go, and 8 months trying to get is wages outstanding. What kind of compensation would be adequate for 8 months of hassle? Any advice will be most welcome. Thank you for your time. Daniel
  3. Thanks for your advice ericsbrother, much appreciated.
  4. [/url]Hello rebel11 Taking out weekends and a day for the signed letter to get to it's destination. It's been exactly 14 days today July 1st 2014, and no reply in a way of letter or cheque. I have an email address for the CO, should a email be sent to him explaining everything that has happened or strait to Small Claims? Also, as his x employers attempted to pay the wages into his bank account even though payment was a very long time over due. Will this do anytng to the case? I look forward to your reply. Thanks
  5. Thank you rebel11 for your advice, much appreciated.
  6. Hello I would like to ask for some advice on behalf of my nephew. End of December 2013 my nephew was sacked by his company due to their strict "time off rules". Since being made unemployed my nephew has not received wages that's owed to him. Before i go on, i must say the account he had with the Leeds Building Society, there must be the minimum £100 in the account at all times. Because of this rule and being unemployed he withdrew the full amount and closed the account. He had contacted his x employers on several occasions, letter, phone then out of the blue, a couple of months later they decied to pay what was owed to him into his building society. But by the time they decide to do this there was no bank account to pay wages into. He knew nothing of this payment until he contacted his x employers once again, only to be told his money had now been payed to LBC. He contacted LBC + they sent him a letter, saying they had received a payment from his x employers but was unable to accept it due to account being closed and payment was returned. On the back of this, his x employers had his details so why did they not send a cheque or contact him. His x employers denided that the payment was returned by LBC and to sort it out with them. But LBC have been very cooperative with him, where x employers have not. Can someone advise on the best plan of action next in retrieving wages unpaid from his ex employers. Thank you for your time to all that respond. Daniel
  7. Hello I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice for the request below. My niece wants to move in with her mother who has a two bedroom flat. The flat is no longer council but owned by a housing company. Can anyone please tell me what my niece will be liable to pay when she becomes a tenant? When i say bills i don't mean, water, gas, electricity. Will payments have to be paid to the housing company? I forgot to mention my niece is in full time employment. Mods, sorry if posted in wrong forum. Thanks for help. Dan
  8. Hello In regards to the information in the post when i first kicked off, i need to straighten it up a bit, i added wrong info or should i say the info the person in question gave me did. Never the less here goes. The person in question thought he was being charged emergency tax has he did not have a P45. Turns out the HM Revenue and Customs have fined him £1200.00 for not paying tax previous year. Already stated, he was traveling around at this time + he had taken out two weeks from traveling to do a two week car body and welding course at college. Once again. I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice for this problem, recovering money taken by the HM Revenue and Customs, and stopping anymore payments. Thank you
  9. Hello Thanks to everyone that replied. When i was SC60 self employed in my younger days, if i had any problems i use to go and see an employee at my local Inland Revenue office. The problem was sorted. Would it be ok for the person in question to do this? Thanks
  10. Hello I would be extremely grateful for any help or advice for this problem below. The person in question cannot open a basic bank account. He has tried every bank and building society on the high st, in a possible radius and online. He has even tried the Barclays Cash Card and the Co-op Cash Minder. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/basic-bank-accounts Both Barclays and Co-op have said that as long as you have the required proof of address and ID, you'll be able to get a basic bank account. Went there, tried, no look at all. Still he cannot get a basic bank account to have his wages paid into. I would like to ask members is there anything else that can be done? Thanks for your time. Dan
  11. Hello I recently bumped into a good friend from the past, around 2007 bereavement happened within his family, and his nan left him money. He ended up moving round the UK and parts of Europe living with new age travelers. Anyway he recently started a job, but his company he works for is putting him on emergency tax has he did not have a P45. Can anyone advise to what he can do? so he can stop paying emergency tax and claim back what he's overpaid. Thanks
  12. Hello I sent two separate orders throught Parcel2Go.com two days apart. The first order got to it's destination intact. Second order, same item damaged in transit. Did not use the Parcel2Go insurance cover, never had to, mabe i should have the pacel being £60.00 Anyway contacted Parcel2Go, sent off the pictures etc showing damadge. Parcel2Go got back your claim has been approved. I was offered £30 Prepay, i replied rejecting the offer on the grounds of the offer being to low. I received a reply, sorry thats all we are offering you, take it or leave it type of answer. So i accepted thinking Prepay was a form of e-commerce online money transfer, and Parcel2Go would be issuing a payment to my credit card. Turns out Prepay is basically a Parcel2Go £30 delivey voucher, yep i made a mistake. Even though i have accepted this as payment. Is there anything i can do to get it in cash? Thanks
  13. 12 days and still you have not been in touch. To be totally honest, i think your a little short of taking the mick, i'm fed up of you coming on here saying your going to contact her and you don't. Unless Vodafone are going to pay out for the mistake that's been made, i do not see a point of your existence on here. I would like a answer from Vodafone to why Direct Debit states the problem is down to Vodafone?
  14. Lee Vodafone Company Rep. Can you ask Jenny if she's looked into this case yet?
  15. Well yesterday my niece contacted Direct Debit, who told her she should of received a minimum of 10 working days advanced notice from Vodafone of when they intended to collect the first payment. There's never been any advance notice provided by Vodafone in the way of email, letter or verbal. Shes is entitled to make an indemnity claim at her bank. Lee form Vodafone, your company made this mistake and this has caused my niece a lot of hassle. Thanks to Vodafone my niece has charges of £6 a day she has tried to sort this out with the bank, but they won't stop the charges. Without going into her out goings each month, let me tell you if Vodafone had of give her notification to when they were going to take out the very first payment. She would of made sure there was enough money in her account to cover the transaction. I personally think Vodafone should do the right thing and pay for all bank charges and a gesture of goodwill payment.
  16. Hello Jenny Vodafone Company Rep My niece never received a reply via email from Vodafone, so there no email reference number to give you. She did however receive a telephone call from your Web Relations Dept. She was told, Vodafone are not to blame and will not do anything about it, and The Carphone Warehouse are ones she should be contacting about this problem. As i have already explained, she has already contacted The Carphone Warehouse and basically been brushed off.
  17. Once again, thanks to all that replied. Thanks Jenny from Vodafone, i will pass on information. Unfortunately I've got a little mixed up with my post, I'm sorry to all that replied. Please accept my apologies. I have since spoken to my niece again. I'm told that she went through all the paperwork signed and dated the DD form. The part i would like to refer to is the first payment transaction. She was never given a date to when the first payment would be taken from her account, by the way of verbal, email or letter. As already stated this caused her account to become overdrawn. Hopefully Jenny from Vodafone will help. It's just the matter of trying to to sort out the bank problem and stop them charging for going overdrawn. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the replies. raydetinu Wrote: Yes, she signed the DD. Yellow paper with Direct Debit Guarantee on bottom of page. So once you sign the DD form the contract starts strait away? No date given? no information? She had no indication whatsoever. Thanks
  19. Hello Recently my niece had taken out a mobile phone/monthly contract package with Carphone Warehouse using network provider Vodafone. Just a general mistake, she forgot to ask when the contract would be starting. What i can't understand is. The Carphone Warehouse employee who dealt with the sale did not disclose any information to when the contract would be starting anyway. There is nothing in the Carphone Warehouse printouts/receipts or contract. Neither did she received a email or letter confirming the start date of contract. The only time she was aware the contract had started was when she received a bank statement showing the money had been taken out, and at the same time the transaction forcing her account to become overdrawn. She has been back to the Carphone Warehouse shop where she purchased the mobile phone/monthly contract, only to be told by employees the fault lies with Vodafone. On contacting Vodafone she is told that the fault lies with Carphone Warehouse Shes has also been into the bank to try and sort her account being overdrawn. She has explained her dilemma to the bank. But they are continuing to charge her for being overdrawn. Can someone please advise to whom the fault lies with. Carphone Warehouse or Voderfone? Whats the next step to stop Natwest charging and refunding her for the charges? Thanks in advance for your help. Daniel.
  20. Thanks everyone for your reply stu007, I'm sorry i should of added more information. When it first came to light, the estate being taken over by a Housing Association. Resedents were told at first meeting the build would consist of a mixture of flats and houses some of the houses would be be allocated for original residents eligible for a house and the other houses built would be sold off. Everything as gone through between Housing Association and council. There are no major tenants issues with the Housing Association, only what information thats just come to light. Yes. Housing Association sent letter confirming they are the new landlords. two allocations forms have been filled in also, requirements that is needed in the way of new property, rooms etc. Each time it was noted in the form a house wanted. No. It's always been noted that from the start, the original tenants will have priority for the new build. Residents have been kept well informed surprisingly. The Housing Association is taking care of everything. Everyting seemed to be going well until a recent residents meeting. Having been told yes and it noted in two allocations forms original tenants and myself that were eligible for a house. Then to be told when a question was asked by a tennent about the houses. The eligible tennents will no longer be getting a house. All house are now going to be sold. Thanks
  21. Hello My local council announced that a housing association was taking over my estate and it was going to be completely knocked down with a new rebuild of flats and houses Cut a long story short. At the time of announcement a manager from the housing association told myself and a few others, we were eligible for houses. Recently the same manager told myself and other tennents, we are only eligible for a flat. I want to know where do we stand and what can I do about this? Thanks Ps. Sorry, Lea_HTH
  22. Sorry for a very late reply. USB stick or disc. I use rewiterble discs, so should play. I will give it a try. Thanks all
  23. Hello This is probably to late to ask but i only just noticed. I bought a Blu-ray DVD player nearly one and half years ago from Amazon. At the time of buying player i read the online item description. It had what i wanted, in this case MP3 compatible plus other formats. I have just gone to play a MP3 file/disc on player it will not play MP3. Product manual shows other audio formats listed but not MP3. I never thought to look at manual or play MP3 on player at the time as it stated in the online description it was MP3 compatible and i had a MP3/CD player Hi-Fi separate anyway. I take it, i have left it to long to do anything about it? Thanks
