  1. Hello I was wondering if anyone could help me. I bought a Pay as you go (PAYG) mobile phone on the internet two days ago. I get the phone this morning with a letter stating they have activated the phone. The last time i bought a phone from this company they never did this. I was wondering why they have activated the phone? The phone was also purchased for a friend of mine. Letter http://i46.tinypic.com/ndsv20.jpg Does this mean the phone has been activated in my name and address? Also, would it been registered in my name and address? Thanks
  2. Hello I have been trying to get refund from TheHut.com but i'm having no luck, and they won't answer emails. The order was canceled in the first place, but TheHut.com never cancel orders they just send order out. This company is like the worst company trading on the net. They owe me for the following. 1, Postage for sending items back, which i have a email confirming they would refund. 2, They sent me a email stating they had refunded me for the order i sent back. I checked my card statement and they only refunded me 3rd of the money. 3, I bought a item and they charged me express delivery on top. I would be grateful for any advice how to reclaim my money back. Could i use chargeback on credit card ? Thanks
  3. Hello I have read their returns policy but could not find information before posting here. I placed an order with TheHut.com. I then canceled order first thing next day. The order had not been sent out it was still in the processing stage. On the same day i canceled they sent message sorry we cannot cancel here is your returns information to send back. I would like to know even though i canceled order before it was sent out. Would i be entitled to be refunded for the postage for sending back? Thanks

  5. Hello Thanks for your reply. I will pass on your information, my friend has written to them again for the third time, this time sending letter recorded, not sure if this will make any difference though. Do you have a specific contact telephone number? If so please can you reply? Thanks
  6. Hello First of all, anyone who has a PayPal account knows if there's not enough PayPal funds to cover a transaction the difference will be taken from credit card. On the first occasion PayPal had taken the difference from my bank account instead of my card causing an overdraft charge, i did contact PayPal and spoke to one of their employees but did not get anywhere. So i just went ahead and paid the overdraft charge. Yesterday i get a letter from my bank etc, etc, you have been charged for being overdrawn. PayPal have done it again. So i paid up again, as the bank employee i spoke to yesterday did not care, i had an unauthorized overdraft balance so pay up. I think i'm right in saying i think PayPal should refund me for both occasions. Any advice to how i go about handling it this time would be most welcome. Thanks
  7. Hello What can my friend do to stop the bank keep adding charges on a unauthorised overdraft? In the last three months the charges have exceeded to over a thousand pound. My friend has written to the Bank on two occasions regarding this matter but have received no response to either letter. Thanks for any advice given. Thanks
  8. Hello Keeping it short and sweet. Someone i know who is also unemployed has been overdrawn the last three months, his bank the Natwest is charging £5.00 per day + other charges at the start. Can anyone tell me the best plan of action to start off with? Is there anyway to stop these charges. Also get the previous £5.00 per day charges taken off. I'd be so grateful for any advice given. Thanks
  9. Hello I bought what i thought was three authentic Hollister women's t-shirts but turned out to be fakes from a ebay seller, I opened up a ebay case seller refunded for just one of the shirt's and case was closed automatically. I have opened up a new case regarding the two outstanding fake shirts, not having much look with seller, ebay not helping. Should i take it to Paypal and open a case? Thanks

  11. Hello My neighbor who lives a few doors down from me has a young girl 10 years old. Ten weeks ago the young girl had a allergic reaction to something. Symptoms. Head swelled up, pus came out of body. Ten weeks on head is now normal size, pus is still coming from neck and head area, and hair falls out in clumps. The doctors at our local hospital that carried out tests could not come up with any explanation. Their local GP who would not refer them to a specialist ten weeks ago has come to his senses and referred the young girl, but she cannot be seen till end of October. Is there anything my neighbor can do to try and get the appointment earlier? (Not a food allergic reaction by the way) Thanks PS. If anyone has any advice on the symptoms. I'd be most grateful.
  12. Hello I'm writing in regards to acupuncture treatment on the nhs. My mother's right arm is in severe pain continually. She had been having steroid injections but the limit has now been reached and can no longer have any more of this type of injection in the arm. I was wondering if anyone on consumeractiongroup could help with any information about receiving acupuncture through the nhs and how to go about getting it. I have written to the Department of Health, but i'm not sure if this was the way to go. Thanks for your time Daniel
  13. ThankS Dragons Dennis for your all information?
  14. Thanks Dragons Dennis for reply. Please don't feel that i'm being ungrateful for your time and help in regards to your letter and information i really do appreciate your time and help very much. In the light of what ever i write, i don't think the DVLA will be remotely interested in what i have to say. All they see is MONEY! if you think it i should still write i'll give it a go. Not sure i understand the above i have quoted. I replied to their first letter, and they responded to mine. Links to letters below. First letter everyone gets: http://postimage.org/image/2nxh45d8k/ My response: http://postimage.org/image/2nxpdu3pg/ Reply to my letter: http://postimage.org/image/2nxxniu6c/ Thanks
  15. Thanks to all that replied, and to anyone who adds further information.

  17. Hello First of all thanks for your replies, very much appreciated. Sorry for not responding sooner. The company in question was Hastings direct. A letter was written to Customer Relations Department and within 2 days an employee from Hastings contacted my sister via phone and apologized and told her that the money had now been refunded. Thanks again for replies.
  18. Hello My sister had taken out a car insurance five weeks ago through a major online-search engine company that gets you the best deal. She filled in the form etc and did the installments option. All went fine got the insurance policy, then 2 weeks later she revived a letter regarding mileage declaration from her insurance company, they wanted her to sign the letter stating she would not exceeded the 1000 mile limit. Five weeks previous when she filled out the online form on the G*******e website she chose up to the 5000 mile option. She compiled with the insurance company filled out the letter and sent it back stating that there must have been a error when filling out the form. Without having to go into unnecessary, needless information. My sister and girlfriend are best mates and prior to the car Insurance, they had planned a holiday which they went on. Anyway she got back home yesterday picked up a few things from her local supermarket and filled up with petrol. The supermarket’s petrol station has number plate recognition cameras. She gets home, then later on that evening she checks her email and there is one from her insurance company she has car insurance policy with, Well-at least what she thought! The car insurance company had cancelled her insurance policy on the 23rd of May 2011. Ok she had a email but what she cannot understand they have her mobile phone number yet they did not contact her to say there was still a issue or say they were canceling her insurance policy and to add insult to injury they have charged her a £55.00 cancellation fee. Neither did she get a letter through post stating that her insurance policy was cancelled, but i take it the email is just as legal. She did try and speak to a employee about her insurance policy yesterday but not one of the four employees she spoke to wanted to help, accept for one that told her that a letter had sent out dated June 2nd 2011. Whats worrying her is her car number plate being picked up by the number plate recognition cameras. will anything come of this? and can she get her £55.00 cancellation fee back? Thanks

  20. Hello DVLA are trying to charge me £80.00 stating i am registered keeper of a unlicensed vehicle. The vehicle in question was sold by myself 18 months ago, the logbook was sent off to the DVLA and that was that. I did however receive contact from the buyer about one month later stating he had not received the logbook, had i sent it off to DVLA etc, which i said yes. He also went on to say he had blown up the engine on bike which i was not happy about as the bike was in mint working order when i sold it, but he had bought it and it was his property. I never did hear anything from the buyer so i naturally thought he had received the logbook. Then just two weeks ago i get a Debt Recovery Notice on behalf of the DVLA from a company by the name of Inter-Credit International LTD telling me i had ignored previous letter. (Lies - never received any) I wrote and told Inter-Credit International LTD that i had sent off logbook. Then today i get another letter telling me information provided to them does not constitute my release from fine. What can i do? Thanks All links to read letters are in order.
  21. DVLA trying to extract money from me which i don't owe them.
  22. Hello Can anyone help with advice. 8 years ago i spoke to my housing officer about having a new kitchen due to the age and the state of the old one. My housing officer sorted it all out and work was to start in a couple months and she would contact me with date and a letter would be sent also. Two months had passed so i contacted my housing officer office to find out what was going on as i had no letter or reply from her. I was told my housing officer had left. So after speaking to several people i find out that it was down to be done but they changed their minds has there are no funds to put in my new kitchen and when they did they would write and let me know. Within these 8 years i have contacted the housing a few times and basically been flogged off. It’s got to the point now where i have had enough of being treated like a idiot by these people. So recently i got in touch with the chief housing officer and told her what’s happened over the years. She came round had a look and within 2 weeks a architect came round to measure up and in no time my chief housing officer received plans which she put through to the department that was doing the job. The chief housing officer told me the job was be starting end of Feb start of March 2011 and she would get back to me soon. The date had come not a letter or contact. So i took it on myself to contact my chief housing officer to be told she was away. So yesterday (5th April) i contacted the office and spoke to her. I was told she would look into it and get back. Today (6th April) i get a call telling me that the senior housing officer had blocked it due to the flats being demolished to build new and more flats in two years time. All the residents will be voting no! when it comes to the vote so the building of the new flats won't go through anyway. So is there anything i can do to get my kitchen fitted. Thanks for your time
