Please can you upload the invoice again, using the free sites mentioned in the upload guide which will redact properly.

You're right about the grace period.

Some companies who call in the PPCs are good at getting invoices cancelled - some are totally useless.  But surely it's worth a try to e-mail the BP CEO  https://ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9499&c=BP Plc-Chief Executive  laying it on thick about being a genuine customer, attaching proof of payment, emphasising the overstay was very short and indeed within the industry grace period - and ask them to cancel.

I'm not 100% sure that BP run the whole site, it's unclear from Google Maps, but it's certainly worth a try.

We could do with some help from you.

So the only issue is you overstaying for 10 mins well that's not going to go well for them should they try it on in court as it's your entry and exit time not your parked time and the BPA's own rules state 10 minutes as a minimum grace period to get out of the car park.

Ignore but keep everything, never appeal, wait for a letter before claim and (if you get one) blow them out of the water with a suitable snotty letter.

Any reply from BP?

I ask as someone today has managed to get a MET invoice cancelled for a Southgate Park, Stansted, car park, but going down that road will mean working out if it is the same company that called MET in.

You can only get bailiffs at the door if you are taken to court, lose the court case, and then decide to defy the court and not pay.

And even that is in theory, not in practice, I've been on this forum for eight years and have never seen a private parking company ever use bailiffs to enforce judgement when a single ticket is concerned.  It's just not worth their while.

Sorry to hear about family problems but you need to work out the difference between empty threats and what the real consequences could be of not paying an invoice.

your all right. i feel very foolish right now.     dx100 it was the threat of debt recovery agents being use to pursue the ticket fine, not bailiffs.  FTMdave, not a scooby from BP ..

Well done for writing to BP.  Nothing ventured ...  It was worth a try.

Just ignore MET now unless you get a Letter of Claim.

  • 1 month later...

hey guys,

happy new year n all that.

hope you've had a well earned break!

Sorry for the radio silence, but there was nothing to report until now,

got a letter from debt recovery company called debt recovery plus ..

ill upload once i find a working scanner, but it does say

"The time has come to decide how you wish to proceed regarding an unpaid parking scam charge you received in  soughgate park stansted

YOU MAY NOT HAVE RESPONDED TO PREVIOUD LETTERS DUE TO AN OVERSIGHT, NOW IF YOU DONT RESPOND YOU ARE MAKING AN ACTIVE CHOICE. OUR CLIENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TAKE THIS AS EVIDENCE OF YOUR INTENT NOT TO PAY THE SCAM CHARGE .. "

i know i shouldnt be, but im a little nervous as it looks very official

what should i do now? is this what a letter of claim looks like?

Standard begging letter.

If you look around the forum, you'll see exactly the same one on numerous threads.

A letter of claim /letter before action will be headed as such.

no letter from ANY DCA on ANY debt no matter what it's type is ever 'official'.

they are always a threat-o-gram saying everything bar WILL.

FWIW: you wont get a letter of claim from a DCA

they only ever come from a solicitor who's client is the stated 'debt' owner and comes with a reply pack wanting things like I&E etc.
