Ignore it. Until someone comes through in writing, treat it as if you were never contacted by them.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

thanks for reply.

if they call back,

and start asking for details,

such as date of birth, adreess etc,

is it best to just say, writing only,

not go into conversation with them??

have had calls from other companies in the past,

and asked few questions on here before in the past,

just never nice getting phone calls,

and do not want to get caught out.

Wait for letters and come back here.

Don't give any info to cold callers, not even your name. You wouldn't expect answers when calling up a private number and intruding on their personal time. Same applies in reverse

thanks mrhat. had a call this evening from debt managers, although just a recorded call so hung up. if they call back again, and ask for me by name is it best to just hang up, or ask who they are but refuse to give personel details?? ie, dob, address etc.

I'd tell them to stop nuisance calls and that you are keeping a log and terminate.

Just how the whole sordid world of finance turns, who cares why they would pass it to

anyone else to collect.

It's just how they self finance each other and stay afloat unfortunately.

Send a CCA Request to both them (costs £1.00) by recorded delivery, if they cant provide one stop all payments until they can.

They have 12 + 2 working days to reply from the date of receipt. You can track the request via the royal mail tracking system with recorded delivery.

Ignore them for the time being, send them nothing.

If you send anything now, you will be inundated with reams of deforestation and harassment.

Jason Do nothing . I had that same letter 3 times, incl once on behalf of Arrow. I ignored. One they gave up. One they made scotcall send their standard doorstep letter then gave up. Other they sent letter on Russel Aitken solicitors' letterhead then gave up.

Don't let their threats get to you. All bark and no

bite.

Eventually Arrow will set some other pack of hounds on you.

You can either let the circus

continue or send off a CCA request.

Do you have any idea when this account will become statute barred ?

So now you now what it is they are after.

Did you have this credit card?

If so when did you take it out, how much is the debt and when did you last pay anything toward it?

Have you checked your credit file to see if this is on there?

thanks for replies everyone. bazooka boo, thanks for looking at this thread. think you have helped/replied on another thread in the past. i think i had the card in about 2003. last payments made to it was approx 3 years ago. think i had an arrangement with some dca at the time. at the moment i am not working, so have no income at the moment, my mother died suddenly in 2011 and i left my job, so unable to collect benefits. my wife works full time, so pays bills and food etc while i am looking for work. i think the debt is approx £4500.00. was not sure what i need to do, send a letter or not. bit worried about doorstep person coming round. what do i need to look for on credit file, and what is the name of the free one.

Hi

If any doorstep collector does by some miracle turn up, point to your doorstep and say, "Help yourself."

These people have absolutely no power and once (if) they turn up. tell them in no uncertain terms to remove themselves from your property. If they refuse, they are trespassers and as such you can request the police to escort them off.

In the library is a doorstep letter. Print it off and keep it by the door.

Pretty much yes.

Print this off and keep it by the front door, and if an unsolicited stranger should decide to grace you with their presence, you can stuff it in their grubby mits and tell them to clear off and shut the door.

Your credit file will show whether there are any defaults, county court judgements and even if your name is associated with any fraud.

Noddle is the free one although they are slower than the others at updating
