if you can find a college etc who do the training and it is approved by the DWP, the DWP will provide funding for the class of SIA licence you require providing you are unemployed and receive state benefits

Just to be aware though that a criminal record of any sort may stop you getting an SIA badge, best to check first if you have any doubts or concerns.

Gettng back to the orginal question the contract specifies the amount of days, what does it say about how long a working day is?

It is clear this company is paying an 8 hour day and the rest as "expenses" so the holiday pay will be based on an 8 hour day. The company saves a fortune on employers NI contributions and your OH will have to face the taxman for undeclared income, not the company. They probably put it in the books as travel costs etc and if they are pulled up will say sorry to the taxman and mend their ways and probably avoid being back-billed for their naughtiness.

Does your partner work 5 days per week?

Nothing about hours, and he works 4 nights one week and 5 nights the next week he works 12 hours a nite

No just the wages but they have to do time sheets and sign them and we have copies of all time sheets.

On each sheet he must write the site, days in, hours in that day and total hours that week.

Are the additional 4 hours classed as overtime?

It doesn't say overtime anywere, on wage slip it is basic rate of pay and then the total eg 6.19 then 169.86

 

It not overtime as rota is 12 hour shifts
