Spoke to a cousin in London today and he said he spoke to a electrical store worker who was looted the other night,, he said that the people looting were grown men all tall about 6ft with balaclavas on and were black. Said he punched on as he ran towards him and the looter in turn punched another looter and they ended up fighting !!

today was a stressful day.

1st i had a dentist check-up. i really hate going to the dentist. i had to take Diazepam just to get through it!

then i had my usual monthly GP check-up...i have depression/panic attacks/anxiety/eating disorder/OCD...but it's also for whatever else is wrong with me at the time.

this time i got a recent blood test result. i have iron deficiency anaemia. so i'll be on iron tablet for at least a few months.

at least i know what has been causing my briuses and mouth ulcers.:|

then my boyfriend phones me and says a letter for me from a DCA has been sent to his address. even though i had no idea how they could have got his address cause i've never lived there!

so now my bf if angry cause he thinks i've given them his address...which i haven't...and i'm suicidal cause i'm terrified i could lose my soulmate cause of this.

if anyone wants to read about this DCA letter problem and maybe give me advice here's the post... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?277302-Additions-catalogue-debt/page2

Don't know what's going on really. We're dealing with hacking, well the old words for it would be spying, bugging. Links are made Mr Cameron goes away on holiday and suddenly the country is rioting!

We really do need to address the underlying cause. The great divide is getting greater and people are not happy.

I have always lived by the truth, brutal as it may be, unfortunately it has been my experience that so called professionals etc for what ever reason seem to think that the truth is not important what is important is winning at any cost. Unfortunately even through the legal system it is one law for one and one law for another. But I'm sticking with the truth, there are no come backs.

Think we need to be careful at this time about over reaction could be what is planned by the powers that be. What if we lost the freedom of speech on this wonderful site?

The loss of democracy is what makes me want to swear, it was hard fought for by our ancestors.

If all this rioting underclass as the press are calling them are evicted from their homes and have their benefits stopped what is going to happen to them? They are going to be beneath the law and not be able to make any repatriation....

It is a belt and braces method which also gags and blindfolds the real causes, lack of opportunity - lack of direction (other than the downward spiral into disaster) and lack of any way of making the situation a bit easier all round.

Society is being manipulated from the top down and the 'haves' want to keep the divide between them and the 'have nots' - they have now created another divide for the 'never was's'. Somewhere along the line the haves have now placed themselves in the firing line.

Interesting isn't it? Think we all need to do a lot of thinking and worrying about our future. That is the kids of today. Some of us will remember the Peace Movement and marches to "Ban the Bomb". They were described at "beatniks" who didn't wash, didn't work etc. Mostly they were students who cared about the future, their future. Yup as an oldie I could go on and on about life experience and propoganda which was not evident to me at the time. Don't know what happened wasn't there wasn't involved. It just makes me soooo angry when people take the quickest solution and yup what happens if the looters are fined, imprisoned who is going to pick up the tab?

Are we escalating this into "let them eat cake?"

Sorry I'm old and have a tendency to think!!!!!!

I believe IMO it's nothing to do with not having opportunities, it's the basic break down in society. People don't have real repercussions for their actions anymore. When a millionaire joins in you can't blame it on 'not having'. People don't have responsibility anymore and feel they and their actions are beyond any real reproach. I don't agree with making people homeless or stopping their benefits as thay will force them to become criminals, but for a lot of the people out rioting it was merely mindless opportunistic criminal behaviour. They should be punished. The should be charged. Yes, somebody is going to have to pick up the bill, quite obviously, and as a tax payer this is one bill I don't mind picking up, so long as they get appropriate (not soft) sentencing. What other reasonable fair solution is there? I may not be that old, but I do have a tendancy to think

Exactly. I'm sure we (I'm 22) have more opportunities today than people who are now in their 40s and 50s. Did they riot when they didn't get what they want? I doubt it. The only riot I know of that happened before I was born was the Brixton riots.

Oh and a friends response to not having something to do was to set something up for people in our situation. (young people with visual impairments)

Sorry can't agree, I'm a lot older and can assure you that we had fantastic fair opportunities and guess what, no student fees! No fear of being £50,000 in debt before we even start in employment. There were such things as grants and the lower paid received grants but this was for living expenses not tuition that was FREE.

The fact that young people don't realise how things have changed with regard to equality in education has made me swear today.

The argument from some rioters that they couldn't go to university because of the fees is rubbish; if their income is below a certain level there are 'free loans' and the repayments don't kick in until you are earning a certain amount. Everyone is in the same situation (bar the very wealthy).

Regardless of income, you get a loan to pay full fees, if that applies.

Do not understand some people:

There is someone who hates me. Fine, I don't expect to get along with everyone. She is obsessed with me. She does everything she can to have a go at me.

Her life is obviously so empty that she feels she must stalk me (it's the same person as I mentioned before) - how bloody sad.

This is bordering on harassment I think.

Going to university is not free if you have to take a loan repayable when you start to earn above a certain threshold. The comments are very interesting because a loan is what it says it is a loan. it has to be paid back. My point was that university education was free and the opportunities were endless for both sexes.

The recent postings have worried me because it seems that we have forgotten so much.

Evidently the forum is no longer a safe and happy place. That's very sad when we are trying to support those in trouble. that's made me swear today.:-(:-(

Well I wanted to swear yesterday when I realised that the fiver change I should have had in my purse wasnt there as I forgot that when you use the self sevice check outs in Asda the paper money comes out from a place quite low down and I forgot about it as I took my change and went home. So whoever went to the till after me got it... hope they needed it !

Stupid Bint accross the road had me swearing today. She was out with a pack of teenagers screaming and shouting her head off in the early hours of this morning. I don't know if she was drunk or something but all I could hear was "what's your f****** problem" and "I'm a homewrecker" (proudly and at the top of her lungs) for over 2 hours with occasional screeches of laughter. She must have kept the whole street awake (the ones who weren't out with her that is, it isn't the nicest of streets). It's not normal. She's at least in her thirties, why would you want to be hanging around with kids and behaving like kids at that age?? It really is like she thinks she is one of them and is the leader of the gang. It really isn't normal. I have no idea if the police ended up coming or if somebody told her to shut up as I ended up putting ear plugs in and tried my best to ignore it. It's very hard to ignore though when you can feel it escelating and your waiting for a fight to break out. It really is that wierd a situation I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out she was sleeping with them. Odd indeed. I'm trying my best to stay out of it as they focus their attention on you if you complain about them, and for years the trouble's been on our side of the street but after she's moved in and another further up it's on the other side, so those who turned a blind eye are getting a taste of what they ignored all these years.

we had a lad across the road who did dodgy deals from his bedroom window, played boom boom music so loud with his windows open you couln't sit outside

argued with his girlfriend an silly oclock in the morning

We gave up hope of selling our house.

Joy of joys he was raided yesterday and taken away in handcuffs,

I waved him off :whoo:

Yay you!!!!!!!!! We are trying to sell too and the constant antisocial behaviour is making it impossible. We were told flat out by one viewer that the noise in the street was a concern. I know some people are working on getting them evicted, so fingers crossed. But yay you!! Victory for the civilised people!

Tried to book a flight online. Everytime i try to enter my phone details it gives me an option of mobile, business, or residence. When i enter mobile then country code in the next box, phone option keeps coming up digits only. Spend 20 minutes on the phone to some foreign call centre explaining that i cannot use their website to make a booking. He didn't have a clue what i was talking about. And seemed to care even less.

No wonder the world is in such a sorry state.

Santander are fine while in credit, but if there are transactions going out in a particular day which takes you overdrawn you will be charged even if money goes in the same day, even before opening hours. They also have daily charges of £5 a day for every day you're over your limit up to £100 a month, on top of other charges. IF you don't realise you've gone over you can be stung, as I found to my cost. I ended up paying around £150 for one mistake with a SO, although they put several hundred more pounds of charges on which I didn't pay. Needless to say my account is now closed.

Thanks 'termi + Caro. Im going to send a letter asking them to reconsider because we actually paid money in to the account on the day they cancelled the last D/D. Cant have dealings with Abbey as we still have a claim within the Court system against them.

Keep up the fight against Bank Charges.
