Just had a strange letter come through the post from Welcome stating that my personal loan account has been assigned & transferred to MKDP LLP..Any one ever heard of them??....Welcome sent me a dodgy default for my loan account about 7 months ago (no date when the breach had to be remedied), have heard nothing since, until today....

here's a quick link to my original WF thread... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/welcome-finance/222005-welcome-finance-interest-charged.html

The problem we seem to be having is that welcome dont acknowledge account in dispute because they dont subscribe to the banking code.....

Ask your solicitor to consider that if any document is 'unsafe'(forged) this poisons the whole of any agreement :D

Thanks for your replies will follow your advice, have spoken to solicitor about the signatures but she says we need the originals which they haven't sent and it will cost me over £1000 which at mo I haven't got.

Can anone tell me about the 'cooling off' period and if they can secure it to your property without you or your mortgage company knowing Before you default on payments pls?

Why is it going to cost a £1,000 to get the originals???

The Cooling Off Period depends on when and where and what type of Agreement it is!

I would think that it is Impossible to Secure the Loan on your property with out your or your Principal Mortgage Lenders Knowledge!!! At any time!!!

Cheers, MARK

My mortgage co know nothing about a secured loan from wf but wf say it is secured, how do I stand on that pls?

OI U ! Cream of England down here you know/](Oops forgot what I was going to say now!!)

Yes the Land registry has said that wf registered it 8 days after I signed for what I was told was a unsecured loan, Hence me asking about cooling off period.

I didn't have chance to change my mind. when had to give up work to care for hubby, went on benefits had probs paying went to CCCs, gave wf name but before I had defaulted on a payment they had already had the unsecured loan changed to secured. And the B******* that came here kicked my gate in which TS know about and is documented, wf have not replied to letters about that from TS or myself. The adjudicator at FOS was in my opinion either has no knowledge of wf and their tricks or shes in love with the babboons. Said she couldn'e find anything wrong with them at all.

Hi Being conned

you can get copies of the registration documents at land registry and this should include a legal (and I use that term lightly) document penned by Welcome to enable them to secure the loan...this HAS to be signed by you and exist, they can't register without it. Under Scottish law and there are huge differences in land register Scot/Eng, the principal mortgage holder should be notified of the charge, there is a really grey area, apparently they have to authorise security to equity value, but when I questioned this they said it was a matter of curtesy to notify principal mortgage. As always everyone is covering everyone elses back. Under English law however you can challenge the security, I urge you to get all the documents and give them to your solicitor. Also if you have a partner and its a joint mortgage then both of you need to sign the security agreement I believe.

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone.

Had a letter today from Welcome to say that my account has been transferred to MKDP LLP. I have telephoned this company and asked what the company name is. I have discovered that the company has only been up and running since Oct last year. However they are very helpful and at least what I am now paying, the full amount is coming off the balance. No interest. Has anyone else had dealings with this company? Hope i`ve done the right thing!!!!

Hi i Signed one paper only at home via the telephone for an unsecured loan. Witness signed once, but when wf sent a photocopy to FOS who sent me a copy the witness signature box had 3 signatures in one box!!

Also I have 2 christian names but on the photocopy it only has 1 ( my middle christian initial) The Fos said that didn't matter as it looked liked my signature. Any suggestions on this? would be greatly received pls?????????

Quick question

I have been looking at all my paperwork from Welcome. With my personal loan I have taken out Life Insurance. Looks like its for 5 years - loan is for 4. Also think that it has interest added on over the life of the loan. This is not a secured loan so why life insurance. anyone else with this on a loan?

Not noticed it before. Also was not given an option if I wanted it or not just told to sign it as part of the loan. Small medical quiz and questions if I had another life insurance. Forgot all about it with all the other problems.

Any thoughts?

Hi all, first time here, I cant believe how big this forum is!! Well here goes with my story.

I've been with Welcome now for 5 years and was struggling at that time 5 years ago, I took out a loan with them.

I have had nothing but problems with them.

without going into personal detail I had the PPI with them but was made redundant from work. What a relief I had payment protection ? No !

I called them to inform them that I'd been made redundant and would like to activate the PPI, they told me it was not valid. I do not know why but they convinced me of this and told me that there was no point persuing it.

I had no income for a year and with having to conitnue to pay the loan out of my redundancy cheque I eventually fell into serious financial difficulties.

after 2.5 years they offered me a re-write which was attractive because it nearly halved my payments, although the term of the loan started again.

I too have read all the statments regarding TELEPHONE CALL OUTGOING, and most of them I've never received at all, and also have been charged for rejected card payments, when all along I've id sufficient funds in my account.

a few months ago i had a call from one of those claimback solicitors and when I told them my situ about being made redundant they told me I shouldve absolutely been covered for redundancy with my PPI, whether it was mis-sold or not.

On this basis is I have written to welcome and challenged them and told them I am ceasing payments until I get a satisfactory response as to why the PPI was invalid. It has been nearly 2 months now & no reply, I am ready to fight this all the way & still have my original Redundancy documents for amunition. I have told them to freeze the loan and all interest and charges until there is a satisfactory reply and I would also be seeking any payments I have made since my redundancy, which Im sure you all agree goes into the 1000's, almost 5 figures.

Any comments or suggestions guys ?
