In fact Im just thinking about going for the Co-Op Bank . The account with them has been closed since my Husband passed in 1997 but seeing as the Statute of Limitations has more or less gone for a burton Im thinking "What the hell , why not"

In reply to your question SSL my clain for charges + interest (8%) + Court Fee came to nearly £1600.00 or there abouts . Haliprats refunded me £1,343.00 so was a bit short but as they ignored my rejection letter and went ahead and put it in my bank (they said I had 10 days to reply) the next day after I recieved their offer there is nothing to do but agree to accept it, I had no option.

 

I hope they dont start doing this to other people, I dont know how they can get away with it . Why send the letter out and give so many days if it means nothing . they go and do it anyway.It didnt even mention "Full & Final".

 

Dursary I wish you all the luck in the world with your claim just keep on your toes, bet you cant wait for it to be in your bank eh.

You never know overflow, they still might deposit the rest into your account or at least pay you the rest of the claim up to the 8%

You dont have to finish your claim, if it is short, inform them the claim is still active till all the money is paid.

 

It is up to you, a lot of people do settle, it is a personal choice.

I was thinking of giving them a ring but then I thought its not worth it.

 

It could be because the first charge is back in 1999, they may still be upholding the SoL .

Just to satisfy myself I did another spready today only this time I did it from 2001 instead of 1999 ( the date 1st charge on my original one).

The offer the haliprats made to me is more or less the same amount , give or take a few bob.

 

Now to my mind they (haliprats) have stuck by the Statute of Limitations and only reimbursed me for the 6yrs.

If I can prove this then I think I still have a chance to get it all back.

 

We know that that argument doesnt hold water now as they are still deceiving people with their extortionate charges ssssssssssoooooooo.

 

I have decided to ring them up tomorrow and tell them that as I know they have not taken all my charges into consideration, If they do not reimburse me for the full amount that I will keep on with the Court case.

You never know they may even pay up the CI (NOT).

 

I am going to read up all I can about profits aspect and see if I could argue this with them.

 

I was reading about this on a govt site somewhere the other day, just hope I can find it again.

 

Well I'll keep you all informed as to what happens.

They might tell me its a no goer but at least Ill have tryed.

Thank you. I rang the 01977 number this morning and spoke to a John Salsbry.

 

Explained to him the nature of my call and he said he would need to speak to A. Baker.

 

Said he would ring me back sometime today.

Im waiting .

 

It was quite funny really cause ive rang that number quite a few times and its just rang out and then gone off.

I thought it would do the same today , I nearly fell off my chair when a voice answered me, honestly.LOL Took me by surprise.

 

Have you had any thing from your bank yet. Ill go have a catch up with yours. Didnt do much yesterday at all. Now lot of reading to do.

If only this was written somewhere we might then have a concrete argument. (Such a pity).

With regard to SSL's , We all know this Lady gives very sound advice when she is asked something, I for one value her opinion very highly.

 

This is one of the reasons Ive decided to see if I can push the bank just a little bit further. After all I only want back what is rightfully mine.

 

Im waiting on the bank to ring me back , just hope I dont get tied up in knots, Ive got all my little notes on this wrtten down at hand waiting so hopefully I wont trip up over my tongue.

 

I wonder if I started crying down the phone at him and shouting "Give me my money" would that make a difference do you think. HA HA.
