Should we trust Sunak or the next PM to fix the Country's problems? (title revised 24/10/22)

Recommended Posts

Cress'll sort it for me ..

"A Metropolitan Police commander who wrote the force’s anti-drugs strategy has been sacked for failing to supply a sample over suspicions he had smoked cannabis."

"“This investigation has taken three years and cost £1.5m"

"Within his role, he had written the document ‘Dealing With The Impact Of Drugs On Communities’, which set up plans to raise “awareness of the impact of drug misuse”."

"“Commander Bennett was highly experienced and knew full well what was required of him, yet he made a choice not to cooperate."

"he was found guilty of gross misconduct and dismissed by the force for failing (err refusing) to provide a urine sample on July 21 2020. "

"After a private meeting with Assistant Commissioner Louisa Rolfe on 21 July in which he refused to take a drugs test, the tribunal was told he asked to approach then-Commissioner Cressida Dick, whom he referred to as ‘Cress’, in order to offer his resignation. "

- and presumably keep his pension etc - like Cress did?

just a little point re Terrorist group Hamas:

Where did they get the intel to enable the horrendous attack on Israel?

* Iran, Israel itself and the western powers all seemed genuinely surprised seemingly (confirmed by US/UK/EU security services)

it IS possible they did it themselves, but seems a stretch

- so who gave them the support?

Following the basic rule: Only one nation really benefits from it as far as i can see .. although a couple could benefit from the general fallout ..

With 'unl'aweful Britishness' presumably defined by the Braverman, Patels, Sunaks and Rees-Moggs of the Nation eh?

These politicians need their wings clipped - and that is all of them. They need to be made to understand that they are administrators of our nation - not its ultimate rulers with the right to define what we can say or think.

What is Braverman trying to do? The Home Sec is meant to be neutral and to try and heal division. A lot of people think she's trying to stoke it.

And some people think she's doing it deliberately so she can be sacked and use that to start a rebel leadership campaign.

Comment from Steven Greenhalgh.

Braverman has an article in the Times today.

SEC (sick) Bravermann says ..

Well, we know that whatever follows is a hate filled dog whistle to the worst of our society dont we

Anyway, added bonus (in her mind) of undermining sunak whos to gutless to sack her isnt it? God knows why on either side though, Doubt shes a cat in hells chance of ever winning a Tory leadership battle, and surely one who might be badenough has more sense than have such an obvious divisive hate filled rabble rouser  monster in her cabinet

How safe is Bravermans seat?

I wouldn't discount Braverman becoming leader if it's a vote by the membership. She would have the support of the ERG, it seems, which Truss did when she ran for the leadership.

The UK Home Secretary is a bundle of contradictions. She might just be the next Tory leader, too.

In terms of having a safe seat, Braverman didn't even have a constituency in February. I'm not sure if this has been resolved now.

The Government’s review of constituency boundaries have left the home secretary floundering to find a new seat as an MP.

Only 'support of about 40 MPs at best though it seems - and many or most of those more 'dont want sunak' or 'want Johnson' or 'want right of right in power' aren't they - not actual Braverman devotees?

lets hope she simply doesn't get a seat - or better still - does and loses badly

Wonder if sunak will 'honor' her?

I wonder if things are speeding up? According to the Times, No10 has said that Braverman's article as it was printed wasn't approved. It also says she was asked to tone down the language [but didn't].

ETA: This is being seen as a breach of the ministerial code; Downing Street isn't saying if it plans to do anything about that.

"It's honestly like reading a pound shop Enoch Powell piece"

"She has managed to offend just about everyone - no mean feat in a divided society"

even right wing deceit and hate monger Lee Anderson, the deputy chair of the Conservative Party said the home secretary is "guilty" (plus some waffling excuses trying to claim everyone is as inhuman as them of course) (reported in his own style)

"can only be described as aggressive ignorance; ignorance of the conditions faced by the civilian population in Gaza, ignorance of the role of the Met police, ignorance of the complex history and traditions of marching and protest in Northern Ireland"

"Braverman makes our country less safe. Not satisfied with inflaming tensions in London she thought she'd also light a match under Northern Ireland relations. No right-thinking prime minister would stand by her, let alone approve her copy."

and while braverman is trying to ban homeless people charities from giving homeless people a tent to protect them from winter, and ban people from protesting about her monstrous attempts to undermine our democracy

Number 10 could wait until after Rwanda ruling to act on Braverman - senior minister

We've heard from a senior minister today that Number 10 might be planning to "wait and see what happens" at pro-Palestine protests - and with a ruling on Rwanda - to act on Suella Braverman's op-ed.

Next Wednesday, the Supreme Court will return its judgement on whether or not the deportation of asylum seekers to Rwanda is lawful.

- Beth Rigby

So if bravermans apparent attempts to ferment violence at the cenotaph come to fruition .. and/or undermine further Rowley so they can try to appoint another cress ..

or the Rwanda scheme doesn't get declared unbritish and illegal ..

... by which time Sunak will have lost any remaining shreds of credibility anyway

BUT consider - what other play do the Tories have other than trying to rouse the rabbble and try to 'Trump like' undermine the next election in every way they can?
