Does anyone know of any genuine employment lawyers that will do a FREE assessment for no win no fee. All the websites offering this always want an assessment fee which totally goes against the principle of no win no fee! I do however need help as I have a five day final hearing coming up in February.

We're not allowed to recommend solicitors.

Are you in a union? If so, you get it ALL for free. And if you intend to take an employer to a tribunal without a union, it's going to cost you a LOT of money.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

It's going to cost a considerable sum of money. and thats just to take it to tribunal. Then you have all the costs etc there. The only thing i can advise is you contact the law society and check their register for solicitors. Be warned though. You are VERY unlikely to find one that will do it without an assessment fee.

Please keep in mind that the term 'No win, no fee' does not always mean you won't pay out anything should you lose. The fee of the solicitor won't be payable, but with some of them, all the court fees will so even if you find one, you could end up with thousands out of pocked should you lose.

Any that you approach should be asked, 'if I lose with there be any fees to pay to anyone' and see that is in the T&Cs.

It is vary rare for costs applications to be made on the losing claimant at Employment Tribunals. Only if the court considers the claim to be vexatious and after warning the claimant, the claimant then continues with the action will costs be applicable.

Just to get a claim to a tribunal hearing you are looking at court fees of £1250.00 in total. If you win then yes you will get the fees refunded but Tribunals are not LIP friendly. They are generally stacked in favour of the employer as well as you can guarantee the claimant has not followed the correct procedure somehow with the employers own grievance procedure.

That is why Trade Unions are worth there weight in gold with such matters

IN regards to the OPs request for an employment law specialist to help with tribunal

It may help to offer some background.

In some cases there are alternatives to tribunals but without knowing whats going on people can not offer that insight.

Can this thread please remain on subject of the OP please

In fairness to the posters commenting on roony's question, when I saw the thread pop up under the "New Posts" tab, it appeared as a separate thread titled "Are There Any Pro Bono Barristers Or Lawyer Organisations In London?". It was only after I posted that I realised it was linked to another thread... Most strange.

Perhaps the mods could split this thread so that the two subjects can remain independent.
