Hello again.

goodatresearch knows more about this than I do, but mental capacity to change a will has been mentioned a couple of times.

Do we know if this was done after he lost mental capacity or not because the will could/should be invalid if he wasn't of sound mind? I appreciate it may rely on documents you don't have yet, but it will be interesting to see.

I wont know any more until the will has been read, and then I can request a copy of it.

I know that the father has changed the will many times over the years; its just very strange to suddenly get a phone call from the nephew yesterday wanting to discuss funeral arrangements, this makes us wonder if he is in the will.

I dont know if the will has been read but how would they know what the father's wishes were otherwise?

The solicitor sent me an email saying that she will be back in contact to dicuss the administration of the estate?

What does that mean then?

Have you been told the Wills going to be read? This doesn't always happen nowadays.

Once probate had been granted anyone can obtain a copy because it becomes a public document. However obtaining a grant of probate is not always necessary but as dad had a property a grant will be needed.
