Right,

I have a few debts and have some outstanding payday loans which at the moment I am not dealing with yet as I have priority debts to sort out first. However, today I had a phone call on my home phone from a company asking for my solicitors address.

I said I don't have a solicitor and what do you want. He said a company called I.M.S which own 190 loan websites had brought charges against me and that I am charged with fraud, money laundering, deception and theft.

He said these charges are because I have made no effort to pay the loan back.

I explained my situation and he said if I pay £50 today he can delay the court action and I can pay it off over 2 months.

I could not pay so he said, you will receive the papers tomorrow and I can not help you further. He hung up.

I then googled I.M.S he said it was ( Integrated money solutions) I can't find anything. I googled their contact number 02088199746 can't find anything about that either.

I rang it back, got the same guy and who was the company who is prosecuting me and when was the loan taken out. He said he can't tell me and it will all be in the paperwork.

This seems very strange to me. If I am being accused of all of these things, wouldn't I have been arrested?

He says I need to have a solicitor to represent me in front of the judge and jury!

Also he says my current balance is 248.00 and when it goes to court it will be 1200.00. If I can not pay it in full after court, I will be put on probation and then deductions will be taken from any income I have.

Please can someone tell me what the heck in going on here. I thought it might be a [problem] but he knew my email address, home number, name etc.

I am now shaking with worry that I will be going to prison for fraud.

I told him I have not commited any crime and that I am in financial difficulty. He wasn't interested. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Stay calm.

This does not sound in ANY way legitimate to me. At all.

I'm trying to find some info for you, but all I can say is put the kettle on and have a cup of tea. Someone will be along in a bit with more knowledge about this than me.

Hi

This guy is talking absolute rubbish. Being in debt is not a criminal offence and you surely won't end up in front of a judge and jury.

He is using the phone to harass you. If he rings back, record him making these threats then tell him you have done so. See how quick the phone goes down and the calls stop.

It may be that court papers are being drawn up but it will be a county court, not a magistrates where no jury is used or a crown court where there is a jury.

As for probation-CR*P

As for taking money from your income- Not until a court case has ben heard, you have lost and failed to pay the judgement so don't worry about it.

This guy wants sacking but I bet he gets a bonus instead for scaring the living daylights out of you. :-x

I've just found a whole lot of stuff about this so called company. Google the phone number 02088199824 which is similar to the one I rang. It's the same company, telling people the same thing and making people ill. I think it's a [problem]. What do you think?

I agree with the other posters, this all sounds highly dubious so I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Haven't been able to find anything about IMS on google, but a few people have commented on the phone number and it appears to be nothing to worry about

Hi

The reason it comes up with [problem] is that if you use the 's' word it gets filtered out. This is to protect you and the site from possible legal action.

Unless you have absolute proof this is a [problem] then it needs to be removed

first of all, the police prosecute not IMS......

secondly, as they other have advised you, if he rings, advise your recoding the call. i guarantee he wont continue.

ask him to deine fraud and money laundering, and why does he believe you have committed this.

then..... i would :lol: down the phone and tell him to f**k off

you want to show him, that he isnt scaring you, or he will continue to call.... laughing will pi** him off!

omg cant believe ive found this post, i have just had a phone call from a man in broken english also saying he is fromj IMS, sdaying that an afa david has been drawn up against me and that im being charged with money laundering and theft and that if i paid £100 today then he will hold off the court action. i told him i am in payment arrangementgs with all my payday loans and i was so shaken and scared i was in tears on the phone, He also says i owe £248 however when it goes to court it will be £1200!!

he knew my email adddress, employers details, my bank name and said i was supposed to pay back a loan at the end of april, however i have checked all my payday loan repayment plans and none of the original balances were due back in april. i still dont know what to do, i work for local government and if papers are sent there accusing me of money laundering i will be sacked on the spot.

I have also googled them and the telephone number 02088199746 but nothing comes up. I rang my mam in tears asking to lend £248 as i have never been in trouble before as you can imagine she wasnt impressed. has anyone managed to find out any information at all on this company.

Im still shaking from the phonecall

PLEASE, PLEASE - DO NOT pay these people anything by card over the phone !! They will then be able to empty your bank acount if they feel like it . They are chancing their luck that you will not know your rights and pay them an amount straight away to stop action, but they have no right to demand money from you - your debt is not with them and this is most definately a quick money making scheme.

Also, this needs reporting to Trading Standards. If you had been able to record the content of the call you could have reported it to the police.

hi guys

no im not able to pay them even if i wanted to lol, ive jst rang the FOS and they arent regulated by the FSA i cant find out any information about them. if they are con artists is there anyone i can ring to report it or does anyone know who i can ring for more advice?

This seems to be a new con - If it is true that IMS owe 190 payday loan companies then the Ministry of Justice HAS to know about this. One company CANNOT corner the market in this. Trading Standards have a site http://www.ripofftipoff.co.uk who HAVE to be informed of this latest con.

If you WERE going to be done for fraud the police would visit you first, and you would not be summonsed via the normal court procedures, even if you do receive papers you still have a right to defend yourself, and DONT need a solicitor to do so.

Somebody is being very economical with the truth.

Hi sienna thanks for your reply i've been along to my local police station who also reassured me that they would of got my details from my credit reference file and if they ring back tell them to send all the allegations in writing. Were the people you spoke to at ims foreign?? I've tried calling back for more details but the line goes straight to voicemail. I'm still a bit shaken bur lots of people have now reassured me it's a con for vulnerable people who are in debt. Keep me updated on your progress

many thanks again xx

Hi,

Yes they sounded indian but gave themselves very english names like sarah wood and michael. Didn't speak very clear english and I thought it sounded like he was reading off a card. Funny how we both were told same amount of 248 rising to 1200, and that our payment should have been made end of april hmmm......I was really worried at first and was considering making a payment. Thank God I didn't!!! As for their phone number, I have phoned twice today only because I have free calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers, most went to mailbox but I got through 5 mins ago and I can't type here what I shouted down the phone at him ha ha ha ha ha but it made me feel a little better! And he was taken aback because he went quiet and just said WHAT??? I'm just off to the bathroom now to wash my mouth out with soap ;) let me know how you get on and I will do same xx

yes lol mine was robert davies

Well i called that number you gave me and also now have a crime number and they took all the details too, the man said the more calls they get regarding this company the more likely they are to get something done about it.

My mind does feel totally at rest now after speaking with you and the only personal details i gave to IMS was my telephone number. I still cant get through on their number but i wont stop trying.

Hi guys me again just had another phonecalls from them asking if I was making payment I said no & tried to get more info about them he somehow has my bank account number. He says that a law enforcemnt office will be hand delivering papers to my home address and work address. I told him I have been to the police and he put the phone down I called back and asked him exactly who I'm supposed to owe money too and he said just wait 4 the papers getting delivered tomorrow. Once again I said I've already been to the police & he said that's nice and put the phone down again. Tried to ring again & now it's voicemail.

I was all at ease and now I'm stressing again what if they send papers to my employer and how have they got my bank account number

Hi All

Just type WhoCallsMe in google and put that phone number in was amazed what can up and you wil see this supposed company is actually breaking the law by threatening customers it seems there something to do with PayDay Loans acting on there behalf.

Do report this to the police and also inform OFT and Trading Standards.

Do Not speak to these people on the phone just say you wont answer any question until you have a letter in writing from them with an address to respond too and if the phone calls continue you will consider this as intimidation and harassment as this has already been reported to the police.

They aren't acting on behalf of any payday loan company. They are con artists, just trying to get your card details. Like I said before, they have our names, addresses, phone numbers, national insurance numbers, work info, bank details. This is because we have all filled in a payday loan application at some point either recently or in the past. Then, the company who we originally applied at have shared our information with other third parties and these people calling themselves I.M.S have somehow got hold of this.

It's just their latest [problem]. That's why they can't tell us who we owe money to. It's all fake and anyone who has fallen victim of this needs to contact the police and action fraud whether you made any payment or not. When I rang back and challenged him he kept hanging up and he didn't even know what a county court judgement was because I asked him.

This is supposed to be the "senior solicitor" at the legal department of I.M.S!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA oh my sides hurt.

I am so angry at myself for letting them bother me in the first place.

Please go to google and put in these numbers 02088199746 and 02088199824 then click on the whocallsme result near the top.
