Hello,

I would like to open a new thread regarding an online store

cheapelectricals.co.uk bought a TV from this online retailer the above modal £693

This is the story and my first online shopping experience with this company would be interested if any one else has had any bad dealings with them?

ONE TO WATCH CHEAP PRICES FOR MOST THINGS APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE:evil::mad::shock:

Absolute nightmare of a company very rude and zero customer service we had ran into two series problems trying to recover our full refund back of £693 as this company agreed to do so once both TV’s that were cosmetically marked returned to them as we were not offered anything else.

Following there instructions both TV’S were returned and expecting a full refund as this was in a written email to us also we were told verbally that a full refund would be granted.

As expected they denied that both TV’S were marked despite having photographic evidence they were only refunding minus £60 for the return of both sets.

I had to seek legal advise and contacted trading standards and in the end I had to settle for £60 less than the full refund that was promised to us once both TV’S were in there posetion.

I also received emails from this company trying to blackmail us in not to write reviews as they intended to take a further £120 minus the full refund.

Sony would not grant the warranty as they were adamant they do not sell under any circumstances to any retailer either what they described b graded or used refurbished products.

I would seriously urge people to think twice when purchasing online electronics from this company if something goes wrong as there is no reasoning with them you will regret it.

I would recommend that you shop around as the cheapest products when shopping online is not always the best way to go as we found that out for sure.

I will however state that no company is perfect from my own experience I found Amazon very helpful good choice of products and most important friendly and helpful customer service.

Use at your own Perl I have never experienced such a nightmare of any online purchase ever.:(:shock:

Customer service is not something you buy but expect when spending £693 for a brand-new TV.

PS I have uploaded photos on the complaints board website you can find them under cheapelectricals.co.uk

under complaints.

Did you get a proper vat receipt as they mention 15% vat. If they haven't brought up to date their website, (Ts&Cs are a template that they haven't filled in), then you should ask for a refund of 2.5%.

When did you buy and when did you report that you had a problem and were returning them??

A few more things I just noticed. Did you have the full distance selling regulations included with the package when it arrived along with your rights under them? I don't meant the parliamentary version.

It took this company two weeks to supply a receipt they did eventually electronically during the hassle I had from them regarding returning the TV etc.

This happened back in the end of Oct 09 with moving house jobs also with my father died around the same time I had no interest or the time and energy to write reviews etc.

This company discarded the DSR and the sales of goods act they have law upon there self’s basically do what they like.

With everything that was going on in my life my father etc I had no interest in taken them to a small claims as i felt more important things had to be dealt with besides I could not afford to take them to court as we had lost out enough money as it was.

As I said good luck to anyone that decides to use these cowboys as I certainly won't be and wouldn't recommend anyone else either as if something goes wrong you will fall into some serious problems as the staff are ARROGANT and RUDE!.

"I had to seek legal advise and contacted trading standards and in the end I had to settle for £60 less than the full refund that was promised to us once both TV’S were in there position." If trading standards gave you that advice, that is an utter disgrace. They should have advised you that rejecting the goods as damaged they should if you request put you in the position you was before you made your transaction. You should have only incurred cost if you changed your mind. I agree they seem to be cowboys will add to blacklist.

Trading Standards offered no or little help I went to a lawyer my self to get legal advice.

The problem is nowadays you get put through to an agency consumer direct who then pass it on to trading standards as it was more hassle than it was worth as all they do is advise you to download a template letter witch we did but as I said this joker discarded everything and even threaten us if we try to blacklist his name he will take a further £120 off the full refund.

With everything going on in my life at the time I had no time and energy to deal with this.

It’s only now that I have done some research and shared stories and reviews online with others like yourself.

I agree there should be more protection for consumers who have to deal with CLOWNS like this but we felt we were going round in circles as we had to accept £60 less from the final full refund as we could not afford to take this retailer to court.

If you do some research on there review you will see that each negative that is left there is a positive that appears mostly anonymous very strange. To all out there do your self’s a favour and shop elsewhere I would not wish that on anyone what we went through it was an utter nightmare.

We have uploaded photos on the complaints board regarding the cosmetically damaged TV'S that were suppose to be brand-new direct from Sony more like refurbished modals as the price was £693 at the time when everywhere else was up to £300 more for that particular modal unrealistic to say the least also there premises are run from home not the two Acer site they made it out to be as that was there excuse not seeing the products after order clearly we could see the boxes were cold damp and tampered with.
