Perhaps there should be a badge or symbol that can be seen near the user name or signature of members, if they have made a donation, that might encourage others to do the same. Nothing big, nothing that suggest the amount or anything.

Just an idea to keep it free.

On another note, those who are desperate to feed their families might feel ashamed.

But then everyone of us wouldn't have got anything back if it hadn't been for this site! i just think it stinks that people cant even give the smallest of donations when they've used this 'service'! yeah i know its free, but if others hadn't given a donation the site wouldn't have been here to help those who are using it now! Please give even if it's only a tenner?

Oh I agree Cillit,

If it wasn't for this forum there would be a lot of people that would be far worse off now. Even if the 5% is not an option, those who have benefitted should make a donation that they can afford in appreciation of the freely given help that they have received.

I've donated, and I'm not claiming for myself. I would hate to see this forum wrap it's hand in for lack of funds.

THEREFORE, PLEASE DONATE

I agree, I would not have pursued my claims if it were not for this site. Great Idea and I congradulate all the people who have contributed.

Can I ask why you dont include a few adwords around the site?! This would at least help towards the cost of your server costs.

I will be donating once I get some money back.

Barclays - Success. Total £3000.

Barclaycard - Success. £2500

Barclays Brother - Success £500ish

Vodafone - Default removal + claim for distress. Settled default removed = £1000 in compensation + £120 court costs paid. :D

Adwords is a service which you use to advertise things and would therefore increase costs. In fact, the site used to use Adwords to get more members but it just got too expensive.

Do you mean Adsense?

If you are using adsence - add the google search bar to the top of your pages. This will generate some income.

Also, As a new person here (well nearly a week now!) I think asking a set price donation is right due to personal finances. However, if we can all afford a tenner to send off with our S.A.R., and as some of us will get it back, I am going to donate that to this site and I would like others to do the same, then yes I will pay a donation when I have got my money from the cases.

As users of this site, we are getting a dame good thing here and we will get hundreds if not thousands £££ in are pockets.

This is the trouble with many good "FREE" web sites. There are thousands of people who cannot live without them, but when they are gone due to funds, they are usally the ones who start moaning first. All i can say is

"OH Skinflints - Get off your a*se and make a donation"

Welcome car finance - Won 19/10/06

Barclays - Offered 48% said no

Next step - moneyclaim

Barclaycard - your next

Thankyou

To be honest I am not sure the donation flag would make any difference - the ones who remain on the site helping others are the people who will be first to donate whereas the ones who got the help and got their money and didnt donate probably dont use the site anymore, they got what they wanted off it. The world i full of givers and takers and the sad fact is the takers would only give if they were made to pay for the service and thats just not what this site is about. Mayve some are getting scared anout thinking they HAVE to donate 5%. They have been in debt so long and are now looking out for number one, and clearing their feet or treating the kids is their priority. Plus a lot of people are probably on WTC or benefits. Maybe if you dont stress 5% so much and just say any amount UP TO A MAXIUM of 5% some people will donate who may have been ashamed beofre cos they couldnt afford the full 5%?!

Just a thought.

I have to agree with Nikki - I have donated, but not the 5% requested & I felt rotten about it. I figured something was better than nothing, but maybe it's true that other people aren't thinking the same way.

My reason for claiming in the first place is that the bloke is on a CCCS plan & the money that has come back has pottered straight off again to carve a chunk off the term.

I'll be eternally grateful to this site for that, and while I couldn't possibly justify not donating at all, under the circumstances I would have had a very hard time justifying giving more than I did.

Perhaps just suggest people donate what they can afford?
