They've rang Tuesday evening, yesterday 6 times in 5 minutes - every time I put the phone down it rang again and they've just called again 5 minutes ago.

Can HFO do anything to me if I tell them to F**K OFF? Do they have recording devices? Because I want to so badly. There's nothing they can do if I do is there?

I'm about to go bankrupt, anyway.

Hi loopy lou1,

I had dealings with HFO for my son does`nt matter what you do they keep phoning.

I got rid of them with the help of P1 and Rory, you will get all the help and support need here so keep your chin up.

I also logged all my calls from them times dates and what was said and reported them to the TS.

Good Luck Mamie :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I have attempted to speak with their customer complaints dept re harrassment of a case I am helping with in similar circumstances to this. Now don;t know if I can say this but all their ops are foreign- African, Asian, American and Iasked if they had any British employees. I am not being racist here but if they have a foreign workforce (legal or otherwise) they will not have any idea of the laws. I know because I asked them and their answers were we don't have to follow the laws and again that nonsense about being a factoring company.

I read a thread on another forum where this guy had been sent an aerial picture of his house that they were gpoing to get a charging order on. Would you all complain as much as you can to TS, OFT, FOS etc and your MP. They need stopping.

Hi Rhia,

I have already put a complaint in about them, when I asked for their complaints procedure they said they did not have one, you are wasting your time trying to speak to these people by phone eveything should be in writing.

Good luck with your claim.

Mamie

So now they are in trouble as they should have a complaints procedure. Staright off to FOS then who will charge them 460 quid just for investigating. We need their credit license number too. Let's keep up the pressure on these. Am minded to start a fan club as over on the Cabot thread we thought things couldn't get any worse. It has it's name is HFO Services. I'll drop by every now and again to see how you're all doing and once I get something substantial with my case I will report on a separate thread.

It is against the law to make abusive calls, it is not however, illegal to express oneself in whatever way one desires when someone calls you.

If they dont like what they're hearing they always have that option of not calling back :-D

Surely this is against trade descriptions ?!?!?!

HFO services are urgently seeking Telesales Executives

It's certainly deceptive as it gives no indication of the real purpose of the job. This business of asking for an individual's NI number concerns me greatly as they are obviously emplying a large number of foreign nationals. It seems most of their staff are not British (I have asked each one I have encountered and they have all confirmed they are not UK) In these days of ID fraud should such people be handling personal information.

I have written to the Information Commissioners Office about this and may well contact the police and immigration service as it worries me so much.

I wouldn't bother, just concentrate on FOS, local TS and OFT. Remember HFOs 'sales' are to banks and other creditors. As for a NI number, all EU nationals & others who work in the UK need one, so the are easy to get. I doubt the police and immigration would be interested.

Arrow Global/MBNA - Discontinued and paid costs

HFO/Morgan Stanley (Barclays) - Discontinued and paid costs

HSBC - Discontinued and paid costs

Nationwide - Ran for cover of stay pending OFT case 3 yrs ago

RBS/Mint - Nothing for 4 yrs after S78 request

No no they are asking debtors for their NI numbers and saying it's part of the security check. What I am saying is this could be used to steal ID.

Anyway have done it and both are very interested. I doubt I'll hear anything else though they will quietly check it all out.

And I will go about the rest of it.

Sorry Rhia. With the earlier posts, I thought you were referring to the adverts for telesales executives.

Its very unusual to ask for NI numbers and wouldn't give mine. I believe that under the new Consumer Credit Act 2006, DCAs can ask the tax man for details of your employment once they have judgement. The easiest way of tracing your tax records is through your NI number.

Anyone else come across this idea of asking for NI numbers?

NI Numbers? Why would they possibly need those, sounds very fishy to me. Sounds like an american sort of thing, everything in the US is tied to peoples NI numbers.

I have evidence that HFO pass on client information to mortgage brokers in return for a cut of the broker fee. This has got to be illegal.

The only man who sticks closer to you in adversity than a friend is a creditor.

Debt Collection Charges

There is no legal basis for a creditor or a debt collection agency acting on its behalf to claim collection costs from a debtor unless there is an express provision in the original agreement.

Without such provision, collection charges cannot be demanded as a debt due under the agreement.

It depends if they have the debtor tick a box saying the are happy for them to share their info with a third party

good point shane,

I have mentioned in another post that I have met the owner and a few of the HFO staff and can confirm that they are hardly a professional set up, infact they come across like chancers!

If they are harassing anyone on here I have some very interesting contact details for them. PM me for further information. ;)

shane

OH MY GOD!!!!!!

This is MY thread and I am THRILLED with everyone! Thank you thank you!!!

They started my worry - the knvxchbvyudbvkzsbdjhgvbd's!

I want them STOPPED TOO. Under Siege you have a PM! Cheers darling.

Rhia - that advert is fantastic - I think I'll apply so I can have a desk next to ALAN and EMILY!

They're the supposed british people I've been dealing with. His voice is vile and she is the **** of the earth.

They didn't even take me through DP when they phoned and a couple of weeks ago they were talking to my FATHER! Who knows nothing about this,. Luckily I grabbed the phone off him and put I down before they could spill out the DIRGE that comes from their mouths.

The best one was "DO NOT PUT THE PHONE DOWN LORNA WE'RE PUTTING A CHARGING ORDER AGAINST YOUR PROPERTY!" It's my PARENT'S house and I am not a homeowner and 1. How can they put a charge against a house not in my name? 2. FOR THREE GRAND?????????

D1ckheads!

I hate them - let's all stop them!

Hi there. Lou this is complete rubbish. They are threatening and harrassing you. They need stopping. May I suggest that everyone who has been harrassed and is getting nowhere with them alos writes to this grubby little solicitors Turnbulls who represent them. www.turnbullrutheford.com I would send the letter pointing out that they are harrassing you and you will take action if they don't stop. Send the template letter re telephone harrassment. I would also add a covering letter saying that they should supply a copy of your credit agreement and evidence of a letter of assignment. Send the £1 and request your agreement and statements under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Also demand details of HFO's complaints procedure as HFO are refusing to give it to you and if it isn't forthcoming within seven working days tell them you will report them directly to the FOS and the FSA and OFT and do it, don't just threaten.

I doubt this solicitor will be too happy to be bombed out with complaints and may put pressure on their client to stop such activities.

Oh look what I found

http://www.hfoservices.citymax.com/page/page/2667727.htm

I'm ok at the moment Rhia with the calls but they mentioned my father's FULL name and I was horrified. I've sought professional advice regarding my finances now and BR is best for me but I am going to pursue HFO regardless of my financial status because they caused upset to my mother who was scared to answer the phone in her own home and she's nearly 60. Granted she's a young a fit 59 but they don't know that!

I haven't had anything from Turnbulls all I've had is one letter delivered by special post "First Logistics" in July and a leaflet from them. No bills or letters pursuing the debt just an hour long phonecall a few weeks ago that led me here. Thank God.

I will write to them and I can't believe they're advertising 40 new jobs - which they'll all have to leave when they GO UNDER!
