  2. well we have just had an email from BES Utilities stating that they are in the process of cancelling our contract as we have no right of any sorts to the premises this took allot of time and stress but hopefully this is the end of the situation thank you for all your support and advice I would be happy to help any one else in a similar situation
  3. etails for you. We hope to hear from you soon. Best wishes - The BES Utilities Online Team
  4. lease I wouldn't be allowed to change providers but when I said this to bes utilities they said they needed a lease to prove I cant change providers they are being incredibly difficult I am young and made a very silly mistake I no this but there must be some way out any ideas of what I should do I have tried every thing but we will run out of time soon far to quickly especially if they can force there way even if the current provider is told not to let them as this is wat they have told me
  5. d a contract please help the last few days have been hell bes utilities phoned me saying they were acting on behalf of my hopefully soon to be landlord no lease signed I have ended up in a contract some how I have been bullied and feel forced into this contract really not sure wat to do as I don't have a lease yet or permission to change the electricity supplier still they say I cant get out of it they say they are going to take over the electric suppy on the 25th and there is nothing I can do they also said the supplier at the moment cant reject the take over apparently I have no
  6. Thank you for this post. We understand very well here that BES utilities has acted improperly with many people. This is clear from looking at reports over the Internet as well. BES Utilities are currently under investigation. I'm afraid I'm going to edit your post quite heavily. This is because although it is clear that there is a lot of valid criticism to be made about BES Utilities, some of the language that you use here is potentially defamatory. Also, you have posted in very general terms About BES Utilities that you have not given us any facts and so really we have no idea what led you into a dispute with BES Utilities in the f
  7. Deafening silence from BES Utilities. Nice to see a customer-facing transparent and ethical approach.
  8. al bargaining power who had a real choice. In another thread, I asked BES Utilities if they would like to answer some questions about deemed contracts and the cost of electricity and they did not reply although I know that they visited the thread and they are fully aware of the question. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?437765-BES-Utilities-customer-service-question-for-you-please I am quite convinced that this is a route that they would rather not go down for fear of losing money which they are receiving on the basis of extortionate charging for other "deemed contracts". Let me hurry to say That BES U
  9. We have recently taken over a commercial property who were supplied electricity through BES. After lots of hard work we've finally managed to change the electric supplier to EDF. Much better contract and much less money. BES want to charge us for the period between taking over the tenancy and today. The rates they have stipulated are a £1.50 standing charge per day, and a rate of 22p per KWA usage. Are the above rates fixed? Is there any way we can object and get a lower tariff? Seems harsh that we never entered a contract with BES, yet they are able to charge us these ridiculous rates, because the previous tenants dealt with
  10. Despite the fact that BES Utilities have seen this thread, they have not answered or commented on the question. Do we take that as a refusal?
  11. Because I know that BES utilities is very keep to show how customer-facing and transparent they are, it would be very helpful if they would explain what is meant by a "deemed" contract and what the source if this phenomenon is. Thank you.
  12. at [email protected] if you'd like us to. Best regards, BES Utilities - Online Team
  13. fer much better rates, but we are not allowed to move until all debts with BES Utilities are satisfied - which I guess is why they're in no hurry to send their invoices to the correct address.
  14. ase send your details to [email protected]. Thank you, BES Utilities - Online Team
  15. Goodness - just had the exact same issue with BES Utilities. We took over premises that had been empty for a few years in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. It took us ages to find who the existing supplier was, mainly because BES Utilities were sending their letters to the wrong address. We've tried to change to an alternative supplier offering better rates but are unable to first clear the debt to BES Utilities, who are charging us £1.50 per day but are still sending their final bill to the wrong address (either that or not sending to the new address we gave a couple of months ago). We've clocked up 5 units of electricity, worth less tha
