  1. Hi there Interesting link here for you regarding redundancy rights. https://www.gov.uk/redundant-your-rights.
  2. Or the age old remedy when a good job goes bad. Start going to interviews!
  3. I do think you really need to play it safe with any future awards. We are no longer entitled to Tax Credits but if we were I think I would be on the phone to them monthly to inform them even if nothing had changed, and also sending in writing so there was a paper trail.
  4. A pleasure to help. I had a £12,000 'overpayment' hanging over my head it was terrible. I wrote to my local MP about this issue, about how it's understandable they need to recoup money but the way that they go about it is wrong and heavy handed. I also suggested that they start off with information about who can appeal with a copy of COP26 rather than scare the hell out of some vulnerable people with a scary massive demand. She was excellent and wrote to Philip Hammond's office and I received a reply from the top guy at HMRC, saying how great they were already and nothing needed to change. So don't hold your breath lol.
  5. Anyone have the address handy for Very / Shop Direct fee reclaims? Cheers
  6. Also does anyone happen to have the data controller details for HSBC/ HSBC Mastercard?. I can't seem to find a relevant address to send the SAR to.
  7. Great, I will get that SAR off this week
  8. My local council automatically do a court summons /£95, if you are late more than twice on any arrangement made. Even if it's only by a couple of days
  9. Hi, Doesn't an SAR only go back 6 years? Will HSBC have stuff going back to 2004 on record still? Also on the statement it is listed as 'Cardholder Repayment Protector', and was a variable amount every month. Is this the same thing as PPI, and is it reclaimable? Thanks
  10. Hi all, I was clearing out some paperwork today and found some old statements from an HSBC Credit card from 2004 - 2005. I was shocked to see some pretty massive payment protection payments every month, up to £70 in some months. I know that I had this credit card for many years, before and after this period, so I could have paid thousands in insurance. I genuinely don't remember if I paid this card off or not, I can't find any DCA letters chasing it up. Even if I didn't the debt would be long since statute barred. Last payment would have been made around 2007 ish. With a card this old, how would I go about kicking a PPI claim off? Also if I still owe the balance would HSBC simply be able to take the balance and pay it off against the loan?
  11. Excellent! I will keep you posted Thanks
  12. Hi Is there a standard letter on here to use in order to claim my fees back from SD?
  13. To repeat, I am assuming you have been living alone? If so you are entitled to the single person 25% discount. This could add up to thousands of pounds over the years that could be taken off your debt! If you haven’t claimed this, call the council ASAP Monday. They might even owe you money?
  14. Contact your local elected councillor immediately, details should be on the web. Email and phone. Also copy in the local elected head Of council. Several threads here over the last month illustrating how they have stopped this type of action. In my situation they stepped in immediately to prevent an AOE! Also the elephant in the room here. Have you been claiming your single person’s rebate. If not they will owe you money and you have every right to claim for it!
  15. As above, See how may threads there have been in the last month, where the local councillor has stopped this dead in it's tracks. I always say contact the local head of the council too for good measure.
  16. I think I will need to try and claim from the OC. Looking through some threads her SD seem very difficult to reclaim from, would I need to be prepared to take them to court?
  17. I think you have a good chance if you just ring them up and ask for a waiver. I picked up around £50 worth of charges for being overdrawn by £5 or so for a week without realising it. A quick phonecall, no anger, no shouting, just an immediate refund. That was Nat West.
  18. Hi DX, Looks like just phishing, I may have informed them but I can't find any letter on my computer, as it was too long ago. It's not the end of the world, if I keep paying £50 per month, it will be gone in 4 years, and that is the point it will also slip off my CRA files. I've already received a mortgage offer , factoring this CCJ in. It is a bit galling that there are hundreds of pounds worth charges in there but I will take it as a lesson learnt.
  19. Got my SAR back on this one too. I've not run it through the compound interest Spreadsheet yet but their are a ton of admin charges. Also almost every purchase on the statement says BNPL, and there do seem to be a lot of big chunks of interest added. I have a letter that Lowell sent to me on Sept 17th 2015 regarding another account at my current address, the CCJ they (lowell) issued was on November 11th 2015 at my old address. Do I have enough to get a set aside?
  20. Great stuff , all filed away, and will come back on here when/ if a letter of claim arrives
  21. https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?481027-DWP-Dea-overpayment-of-tax-credits-or-UC-from-yrs-ago!-**RESOLVED-BY-MP**&p=5070721#post5070721 See Above
  22. Nope, The DCA is powerless , ignore any communication from them. Only deal with Tax Credits directly. Please , please do not start paying anyone, the DCA is a non threat! Please , Please make an appointment with your MP, they all have weekly surgeries, and in your situation will be of great help. There is another Tax credit thread, a month or so back where the MP stopped all action!
  23. So I see an extra big interest charge of £53.97, close to when they sold the debt on. Would that be what I am looking for?
  24. The CAB's advice is terrible. The Tax Credit's own COP26 Code of practice is on the internet for all to see. For your own reference here is the extract from the COP 26 most relevant to you. I would say your circumstances fit this exactly for a cancellation. I have also included the link for you, page 15. and yes, you should offer to send them a note from a GP /consultant . For good measure do what another poster did, look up your local MP's surgery, make an appointment and explain everything. If you need to discuss financial hardship with us, phone us to explain this. When you phone we may ask you about any family circumstances that may lead to extra living costs. For example, if you’re looking after someone who is chronically ill or disabled. In some exceptional circumstances, we may cancel an overpayment altogether https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tax-credits-what-happens-if-youve-been-paid-too-much-cop26 Here is the link to COP 26 for your own reference
  25. I will take a look at that later, but from what I can see from threads on here, if you want money back from SD you need to be prepared to take them to court! Not sure if it's worth it for a few hundred quid.
