Put I.V analgesia was considered But due to the known side effects of this type of treatment in relation to my conditions, the risks were considered high against any possible benefits. I.E it could kill me .

Visions of 1933 and Germany but if I use that argument then I lose the debate. -
After 5 years I was sent for for a MRI. My GP said you have *******, ****** and ********. At last I thought an answer and then she said but it could be ********. Getting to the bottom of why you are ill sometimes makes you want to scream. Good luck!

UKIP ? I do not think so! So far to the right they make the conservatives look communist:-) -
AS my G.P says "whatever works for you". I am glad you have found something that helps.

ATOS denying home visit based on my GPs lack of evidence ?
mr_mastiff replied to mikv's topic in ATOS
Outside of the U.S.A osteopaths normally are only considered as complementary therapy. Please see link below. http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Osteopathy/Pages/Introduction.aspx. Normally a scan of the type you want is authorised at consultant level. So you would need to see a consultant rhumatologist / orthopaedic type to get the referral. However it may help to research if that type of scan is available in Scotland. If not help towards travel costs can be obtained through the NHS. have you tried the website below http://www.hypermobility.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13364- 57 replies

ATOS denying home visit based on my GPs lack of evidence ?
mr_mastiff replied to mikv's topic in ATOS
Hi mikv, No GP will give you a letter on the basis of a telephone consultation. It would just not stand up for many reasons including legal and ethical. If you can afford it perhaps a home visit by the G.P may be the answer. Perhaps Local Patients associations/charities may help in the cost. Another alternative would be to get a private physiotherapy assessment at home which would clearly state your abilities. DWP/ATOS would have to accept this.- 57 replies

I.V therapy would be contraindicated means that it would not be suitable for your condition. The small pumps used would not give you the flexibility required to adjust your own pain relief. If you have a lung condition I.V analgesia can have a number of serious risks. The risk of infection would have been also considered.

Kitten1, I am not having a go at the individuals within the system, there are many excellent ones. It is the failings of the government and their constant misleading of the general public about the resources available which makes me so mad.

my wife's condition worsen, and, after a week in hospital doc's won't say nothing
mr_mastiff replied to masisu's topic in NHS
Masisu, A number of consultants will have already seen your wife,s scan so I believe that one more opinion will be just more of the same. Due to its small size I believe that your consultant thinks it would be unwise to proceed. If it was my wife Emotionally I would want to be doing something now, but the medically trained part of me would be wanting to wait a short time to do things with greater safety. There are a number of on line groups which may help you. try the one below. http://community.macmillan.org.uk/cancer_types/brain-cancer/f/30/p/36034/407878.aspx http://www.astrofund.org.uk/onlineSupport.ph http://www.braintumouruk.org.uk/node/231 You need to go back to your consultant or GP and gather more information. I would be asking the following. Where is the Glioma(if it is a glioma). If the Glioma is in that area. how could it effect my wife? What are the treatment options how long will they last. What support can I get for my wife both emotionally and financially?Should my wife be having regular checks on blood pressure etc. You may find the more knowledge you can get the less helpless you may feel. If I can explain or translate any information please get back to me. Be careful of what you read online each case is different and there could be many outcomes. -
Antone, I agree you cannot blame one individual for the failings of a government department. Most of the problems within the DWP stem from lack of training, lack of staff and a poor I.T systems. Without yours and others help this forum would be a much poorer place. I for one would would like to offer my gratitude for the help you have given to me and others.

MS And Parkinson's Sufferers Told: 'Get To Work'
mr_mastiff replied to citizenB's topic in Benefits and HMRC
Bedofweeds in a previous post you stated that you gave yourself 100mgs of morphine twice a day plus top up doses of of oramorph I would challenge that you are unsafe to carry out the tasks that you say you do in your post. If you are stopped by the Police and tested under the new DUI laws you will be arrested because your blood level will be massively over the limit. You do become tolerant to morphine but that will not alter the fact that your blood level will be way over the limit. I too take morphine based analgesia and find complex tasks at times impossible how you can put yourself and others at risk by driving is truly astonishing. -
MS And Parkinson's Sufferers Told: 'Get To Work'
mr_mastiff replied to citizenB's topic in Benefits and HMRC
Estellyn I totally support your view. Some days with a bit of planning and numerous rest breaks I can achieve a number of tasks around the house. In the normal workplace I cannot take four hours to do a 1 hour task nor take the day/week off because the pain will not allow me to function. I miss work, I miss being independent but I know I must live with my condition. -
What Made You Want To Swear Today?
mr_mastiff replied to ukaviator's topic in The Bear Garden – for off-topic chat
Received a letter today from HMRC giving details of amended tax credit awards. Letter dated August 2011 for period 04/2011 to 05/2012. Is the letter very late or do they not want to give me details of this years award until 2015. -
With reference to post 4409. I am sure that someone posted that Ingeus had offered them £50.00 for work details of employment they had found themselves, so that they could claim money for it. Would that not make Ingeus guilty of fraud and the person if they took the money guilty of fraud also.

There are better one but the NHS always go cheapest first. Give it a few weeks then ask for an alternative. Just as a thought my migraines stopped after they changed one of my other medications (anti depressive).

Yes I have. Just fill in the form at the present time, Simply record each of your problems and there effects on you. State what as happened to you but only include the names and addresses of your consultants at this time. If you state what your conditions are and there effects, if you require further proof at a later stage then that is the time to get medical notes etc. Simply answer each question. what help do you need when you go out of the house, do you need someone with you? does your eyesight make you unsafe to go out on your own. Do your migraines cause you to become unsafe, have you collapsed, how long do they last for, what medication are you on for this. Your condition is uncontrolled give a list of medications that the doctors have tried. How does it being uncontrolled effect your safety. Take each part and break it down to how it effects you. I lived in a state of panic whilst filling in mine so I know how you feel. There are a lot of people who will help you so get back to us if you need help.
