  1. I completely understand how u feel Bella, I was threatened with debt collectors coming to my house etc etc and I know how vulnerable and isolating it feels, admittedly I was threatened to the extent you have been, but from an outside point of view it is clearly a load of tosh and designed to frighten you.
  2. Ok why would you think men with weapons would turn up?? They have no powers whatsoever it's just bully boy tactics
  3. How do they expect to be able to force you to open papers in front of your employer?
  4. I just want to add, I'm not having a go at you, but the people on here really do know what they are talking about, I will repeat that please please please just keep your wages safe and have them paid into another account, these companies really are sharks and have no morals whatsoever and there is no guarantee that they won't try and clear your account, they cannot be trusted, as Bombay said, please don't just wait and see if they take it
  5. Excuse the bluntness but Bella if you come back here on the 28th and say that your account has been emptied then you are no doubt going to expect advice and help from the same people on here who's sound advice and help you appear to be dismissing. It is imperative that you open a parachute account to have your wages paid into. I too thought I was safe when I had arranged a payment plan with quick quid, the feeling I got on payday when my card was declined at the petrol station and I checked the bank and saw that my account was empty - in fact minus a couple of hundred which was an unauthorised overdraft is a feeling that still haunts me a year later, it will stay with me for a long time.
  6. What an absolute crock! Definately report that to the OFT, and beware of them having your card details as they will help themselves
  7. Ok, what would your advice be on how to go about fighting this? Thanks
  8. Just seems like they are not going to back down on this one. Plus partially settled is not good for my credit rating
  9. They've really got me though haven't they. There is nothing I can do is there?
  10. Dear Blossom This is the breakdown of your balance as supplied by Quick Quid: Original Principle Balance: £400.00 Check Amount: £300.00 Late Fees: £36.00 Total: £736.00 You are correct, the check amount is what the interest is listed under. Currently you have paid us £435.00 This means the rest of the balance (£301.00) is made up of the interest and charges added by Quick Quid. This is what would have happened before the account got to Mackenzie Hall. We have not added any further costs or charges. This means there is nothing we can do to change the balance despite how extortionate it may seem. We are however sympathetic to the customer in these cases, this is why we are willing to offer settlements. If you were to take advantage of this we would be able to update your credit file to partial satisfied and you will no longer be pursued for the remaining balance. I can provide a detailed statement of your account after Mackenzie Hall took over. If there is any other information previous to this that I have not answered let me know and I will request this from Quick Quid. It can take them a couple of weeks to respond however. Kind Regards Mackenzie Hall
  11. Am I fighting a losing battle of I challenge it and say that I've paid what I borrowed I am not paying you £60 a month for a further 5 months just purely to pay interest and charges? They have made it pretty clear they wont accept this nano don't really want their solicitors getting involved
  12. That was a couple of month ago - I have now since paid £435 - I have £300 left to go. So as shown above I initially borrowed £400 and am now paying back £730, As you can see they sent me this breakdown once I had agreement the repayment plan,so I think its far too late to argue it now. I just have to put this down as a very expensive mistake, and accept the fact that I have been well and truly had this time. Also I dont really want part settled on my credit report, I want it to say paid in full and hopefully breathe a bit more life into my dying credit rating
  13. Thanks for the reply Rene - Please see below Dear Blossom This is the breakdown of your balance as supplied by Quick Quid: Original Principle Balance: £400.00 Check Amount: £300.00 Late Fees: £36.00 Total: £736.00 You have paid to us: £249.00 Outstanding Balance: £487.00 I have consulted my management in regards to settlements your account. It seems you may have been misinformed regarding legal proceedings. We use a companies called Colemans Solicitors and Stirling Park when considering any legal action. In regards to Settlements: They will only consider settlement offers of 80% and above This would mean a minimum payment at this point to close the account would be £389.60 Kind regards Mackenzie Hall
  14. Hi all, Hope this doesnt sound too daft, I am in repayment plans with DCAs to repay my payday loans. Whilst I understand this has killed my credit report, if they offer me a full and final settlement, does this look worse on my credit file than settling in full? Whilst I'd like these debts off my back, my credit rating needs all the help it can get. Thanks
  15. I agree with Jamie Kingston here, and whilst I can understand why you are annoyed, it seems like you are wasting your time and energy goading them into an arguement which all seems a bit unnecessary.
  16. Sorry if I have missed something but this doesnt seem clear. Are they taking the money because today is your repayment date? If so then that is the agreement that you have signed up and knew was going to happen is it not? Apologies if I have made a mistake here.
  17. Monkey Dosh? That's all they are is a load of monkeys. I can only go by my own personal experience, but when I was slapped with a load of illegal charges, I told them on writing that I was fully aware of my rights and the charges are illegal and unenforceable. They are typical bullies, if u stand up for yourself it takes them by surprise and they dont like it, but will eventually back down
  18. Well done Daisy, it is such a great feeling. I am almost done aswel, and it's all down to the amazing people on this site. The thought of being rid of them out of your life forever is second to none. I do believe that mistakes are worth their weight in gold, and that I would NEVER put myself through that again, no matter how bad things get, it's just not worth it. After a year I can only just brings self to take my phone off permanent silent mode due to the hundreds of daily phone calls, and can listen to voicemails and open my emails without a heavy heart. I hope others take comfort I'm seeing this thread, and know that they are not alone. Well done again )
  19. Haha love Mucky Smalls ) I do have a good mind to write back and tell them that I can call them what I like, and I have FAR stronger words than Mucky. Have to confess to a sense of empowerment now I am so close to having paid off my debt to them. They can't touch me anymore and they know it and like Rene said its like a last ditch attempt at being a bully and just getting the last word in. Dummies indeed
  20. Just thought I'd share something that amused me a little, have had a hellish time over the last year with payday loans, am in a repayment plan with Mackenzie Hall who even though I have paid on time etc (£240 left to go!!) have been a nightmare and have sent threatening emails saying they haven't received payment and I'm gonna get a ccj and doorstep collectors and have hundreds of pounds added to my total balance etc. During this time I emailed back saying that I had paid and they can shove it and East Ayshire were very interested in the emails as I had forwarded them copies. They backed off saying there had been a technical fault andy account was fine. I had saved them in my email contacts as "mucky hall" which showed up in the email threads and was visible to them. Today I got a random email from Callum at Mucky Hall saying "may I remind you that our name is Mackenzie Hall not Mucky Hall as you put it. Our staff will not tolerate abuse which includes name calling and may affect how sympathetic we are towards your situation. Please amend your records accordingly. Are they having a laugh?? They were the worst for bullying me at my lowest hour! And I would hardly call them sympathetic! Seems I hurt their feelings, poor sensitive souls LOL!
  21. You must must must only correspond in writing, it is imperative to have that backup as they can and will deny any agreement over the phone. I have to say I got nowhere with Quickquid, just automated email replies saying that I must call them, they also refused to accept any form of payment other than debit card or direct debit, which I refused, I offered standing order / bacs transfer only, in order to protect myself from them helping themselves to more than agreed, which was very possible. We hit a stalemate and they passed the debt to a DCA who just accepted my offer and I have been making payments to ever since. Payday Express were also very hard work, kept refusing my offers until I basically said fine take me to court (which is what they were threatening) and explain to the judge why u have refused my payment offer, and a judge may order me to pay u less than I have offered. They backed down but it was hard work and took a long time. Paydayuk were the hits who phoned my workplace, and the one and only time I called out of sheer desperation to ask them to stop (before I discovered this AMAZING site) the guy on the phone wouldn't even talk to me until I gave him my debit card number. This still makes my blood boil today. Just be prepared to fight and stick to your guns and remember that knowledge is power, and everyone here is behind you
  22. Considering Cash Convertors UK is coming on here representing the company they have done a pretty shoddy job displaying a bad attitude like that
  23. So you are not in a position to repay it so you are just not going to bother? With time and effort you can arrange a repayment plan. People here are prepared to help those who genuinly are in trouble, not those looking for help how to dodge repayment. We have all been in that position and nobody is here to judge but you have no business just borrowing and not bothering to repay it. And the chances are they will track you down if they start legal proceedings against you. And it will not look good at all if your record shows you just left the country hoping the debt would just be forgotton. So my advice would be to take responsibility for your actions.
  24. Should I just accept defeat on this ...? Advice gratefully received ...
