Ad hominem evasive bluster @theoldrouge and very Conniff

So what is incorrect about any of the quite straight forward and clear (and easily checkable - inc badenough voting them through) statements in the letters from the London School of Economics (with supported links please)

Look at it now despite lockdowns and  years of green promises

and yes, I know some people might just spout 'see we've been here before' (10x longer ago that homo sapiens have been on the planet_ without looking at the details which should frighten anyone

But it is part of understanding the problem and I'm not frightened of facts.

Britain's reform of post-Brexit financial services is more about catching up with rivals than unleashing a 'Big Bang 2.0' as it sidesteps calls to cut...

So, TOR, in terms of events, what would it take for you personally to say that climate change is a problem?

The climate has always changed

Mother Nature will always counterbalance in the end

the media and the met office has gone full blown hysteria over a couple of days of heat

And regardless of any measures that the majority in this country cannot possibly afford , around the world we have not even reached peak coal yet

I can see where you're coming from. But in this article even the chief secretary to the Treasury says the current situation is a warning.

Around 50 year (or less) delay between CO2 increase and sea level rise - we are 17 years into an ongoing  'hockey stick' increase

Few days!! - where you been during the increasing levels of floods and heatwaves around the world? HIA?

Of course we knew that Khan would be first on the bandwagon

1976 far more prolonged dry weather and far more fires but we all carried on as normal

Happening in France 20 years ago

When the hysteria dies down you will find that most are caused by arsonists and various other copycat nut jobs

As for the tv reporting pathetic

Breaking news “its 30 in Windsor”

Followed by “it’s 31 at Heathrow “ etc etc

Get on with what? an unlivable world?

I holiday in the canaries quite regularly, one of my handful of favourite places.

Notice the increase in wind there? (if your answer is no, you must have been permanently indoors)

You obviously go to Fuerteventura (the clue is in the name) or you never leave the area around TFS Airport 🤣and a good few jet miles there I notice (“I holiday in the canaries QUITE REGULARLY”)

Anyway as soon as Kemi or even In Liz We Truss scrap the green levy and explain to people the true cost to them of net zero watch support rapidly dwindle

Nope, only ever been there once.

Would that be:

*without it an unlivable planet and unskilled low-paid jobs before that

* with it and a move to hydrogen economy - a growing green and sustainable economy, leading the world,  with skillsets and examples exportable to the world.

- A true leader global Britain rather than the 'Little England' dell boy Brexiters tout

Perhaps explain to me why Climate Science (clues in the name) deniers seem to think that the fact that all the scientific experiments and evidence (clues in the name) demonstrates that the deniers are wrong, yet the deniers claims that is ONLY because all the scientific evidence (clues in the name) is a world wide conspiracy (clues in the name) by everyone from NASA to local weather and school teachers .. and even the weather itself?

- Same sort of bonkers conspiracy illogic (clues in the name) basis for the:

* Nut jobs who shout 'we are ruled by shape shifting alien lizard who perform magic rituals where they sacrifice and eat humans

* Brexiters

* flat Earthers

* The universe was created in 4004BC and all evidence to the contrary was how God created it in 4004BCE creationists

* Humans rode dinosaurs 100 million years ago

* many anti-vaccers

Are charter cities a good idea? This author doesn't think so. If some people get their way, the UK will be covered with charter cities and freeports.

IF, like me, you are not impressed by the hogwash being pushed by promoters of freeports, “green” or otherwise, then you ain’t seen nothing…

85% of 1,4051 Br-Express readers ... Lets look at that a little closer.

So if less than 12,000, of just 14051 almost certainly carefully selected Br-Express readers said Johnson should try (harder) a trumpian coup?

Presumably all the other express readers ... didn't/wouldn't

So if the Bre-Exress has just 140,000 readers - only 10% of even those (apparently - according to the paper) utterly convinced Brexiters think Johnson should be in office.

If the Br-Express 'reach' is the near 3 million as  I see claimed, it seems all they could find is a grand total of only 0.5% of even Br-Express readers think Johnson should stay.

Those Charter Cities are like a Paul Verhoeven dystopian film where the Corporations own everything and people are property. as in Robocop, not good at all, but look at the WERF concept of 20 minute or Smaert Cities to see a similarity between a Charter City and a Smart 20 Minute City.
